As an Indian we are only taught about Hiuen Tsang as a Chinese traveller who visited India but we never knew how much sacrifices he made to reach India and that he was a Buddhist monk who spread Buddhism in China via the texts. Great man, Salute to him. He has written 'Si-Yu-Ki' i.e Buddhist records of the western world.

Have read about Xuansang as a part of history syllabus in school but to see a movie depicting his eventful and inspirational life was an experience in itself. The idea that animals are somehow kinder and better then humans is CROCK. This is a story. Animals will cull their young in a heartbeat. If they think there is insufficient food, or they think a cub is unhealthy, or they want the female to go into heat, they will murder a litter with no remorse. Many species propagate by rape. They fight for territory same as we do. They exile members of their packs, and chase off the elderly when it is time for them to die. They are very, very practical. Of course, altruism is not unknown in pack species like wolves, rats, lions, and hyena. But it is rare.

In our Buddhism-Mythology, there is a Deity named Sun Wu Kong, also known as the Chinese Monkey king, with same bodily & physical resemblance with Lord Hanuman. Buddhism is great for a personality change and to deal with the current life. Unfortunately, it offers nothing for eternity. However, Christianity helps for both now and later and lasts forever. Buddhism is beautiful. It definitely is a self teaching method for obedience and self control. But even Buddhists know that there's an afterlife and the only way to access it, and latch on to it in a favorable manner is to connect with the spirituality of the creator. God. I hope you can learn and gain wisdom beyond your expectations and satisfy the thirst of your soul with the water that is everlasting. Sometimes God speaks to us and we ignore him, and his voice gets softer not louder. The mess in the world gets louder and louder. Bless you bro!

I hope one day the majority of Indians will know "true" peace away from violence and want. I studied about Xuan Zang when I was in 12th standard and I really liked how it was described in textbook match with the movie. It’s full of emotion and really Buddhism teach us how be a human being. Best dialogue from the movie is ‘Ask why are you suffering’ The ultimate way of releasing suffering is to knowing why I am suffering.

    • @Elementaldomain
      @Elementaldomain 5 лет назад

When it comes down to it, the Truth is....that suffering IS a choice. We choose to suffer. Why? Because we have mistaken ideas that suffering is a natural part of life and it is not. It is a perspective borne out of ignorance and disbelief that with all things there is no thing that is not possible with God. A lack of faith, a belief in illusion, causes suffering. God is Perfection, only Perfection. If we keep our Vision upon that Fiat, and keep whispering to God within our Heart that we will only accept Perfection....it will come.

1400 years ago, this man (age 25 ) went through more than 100 countries and traveled 5 years(A.D.627-632) and finally got to Indan.
He spent around 2 years in Indian learning the language and scripts, then begun his journey back to China.
When Sanzang got back to China, it was already 18 years later (A.D.645).
Before this, there were only two solid pillar stones of Chinese culture, Taoism and Confucianism.
After this Buddism become the Third pillar stone of Chinese pillar stone, combine, those three cultures shipped Chinese history.

This film is so visually stunning!
The cinematography is worthy or perhaps more so than anything
    Hollywood in USA could achieve
The colours are breathtaking along with geographical landscapes, costumes, music sends shivers down ones spine
You laugh with our questing monk, urge him onwards, tell him to calm down & have faith & trust in his God.
You will not be able to help yourself & not cry when he does, in his moments of fear & doubt
    Or the futility & hopelessness
You forget time, youre so engrossed in this cornucopia of visual & spiritual excellance
The end festivities were marvellous & sumptuous.
There is something for everyone to gain in this film, a personal message for you, i know it did for me & strongly know everyone will benefit in countless ways.
Its a film to watch when words arent enough,
When you cant find an answer
When you need comfort & well being
When you cant go on anymore but after this film you wonder why you though it was a hard journey, so you have been given the right
Sustainance for your personal journey & you are
    invigorated
Its a film you can watch many times & pick up some gems of wisdom
I cant praise this wonderful film enough, my words are poor quality to describe the gift you get from watching this
I even think when the monk is exploring the Ellora Caves hes thinking of the meanings of Buddha & he says the concepts are " Beyond Words "
    So very true
Its the journey that counts not really the destination, that's just sparkly topping ...
