    Even though the asus is brighter I prefer the lg becuz of hdmi 2.1 and better burn in protection features., LG for me, has Been my favorite monitor brand haven’t had any issues with them and will continue to be my favorite monitor brand for quite sometime, I’m not an asus hater, asus is a great brand, it’s just for me i prefer LG.

    I did purchase the LG and the brightness was an issue at times. But really the anti glare coating was just way to much. I prefer the matte finish but it was overkill on that monitor, almost a grainy look at times. Other than that it was great. I know they use the same panel though. But that Asus brightness is impressive! Thank you for the comparison review!

  • @turokshift

    First of all thank you for this side by side comparison.
    I have two questions
    1) Did you update the firmware on the LG monitor?
    2) Is the ASUS worth €400 more than the LG? In NL the LG is €899 vs ASUS €1300. Currenlty I have an old IPS monitor (Asus PG279Q) and I wonder if I realy need the ASUS for that €400+. I would just be as happy with the LG I think? The brightness is my main concern. Some people complain about the LG being to dim

    • @DisplayReality
      @DisplayReality  Год назад

      Hi! Yes the LG is on the newest firmware as of this date. Also the Asus is worth it because of the nicer warmer (less blue) picture with the added brightness. I find that destiny 2 on the LG is too low in brightness vs the asus which is just right for oled. Thats just my opinion as I like bright monitors. Bright enough to overpower semi ambient lighting. If you are picky or a hardcore gamer you will notice it. Maybe get the asus on a sale?

  • @JasonJtran
    @JasonJtran Год назад +5

    I got the LG and have it on gamer 1. Its bright enough for me but a future update would be nice. I've seen too many Asus quality control issues on reddit and that put me off on it. Also no HDMI 2.1? Cmon now. Great comparison video as always!

    • @waiXsKanal
      @waiXsKanal 9 месяцев назад

      reduce the saturation within the driver. As little as 48 instead of 50 will do. Especially over HDMI you can use a 12bit signal so you won't lose colour depth. That way it still is not colour accurate, but looks very good to my eye.

      If it’s only a 1440p monitor, why exactly would you need 2.1?

    Your reviews sound like you're frothing convincing yourself why your choice was the absolute best, plugging it every 30 seconds like a cheap cars salesman. Go easy on the pitch lol

    Both monitors are horrible, they have power saving that you can't turn off.

      Idk... I turned off eco modes. They both shut off when tuning off computer. (LG & Asus after the update)

      @@DisplayReality I'm talking about CPC and ABL, CPC makes the corners like 25% darker and can only be turned off with a special remote on the LG monitor and needs to be turned off everytime you start the monitor. ABL can't be turned off on either screen unless you set it to a dark mode, it's acceptable on the Asus model though.
