What are your thoughts on the two monitors? Is one a clear winner?
Neither are perfect:
LG has the 'matte problem'
Asus has the qd-oled 'raised blacks' problem.
The god monitor is basically a mini lg c2....which for reasons known only to the gods they don't want to give us 🤷
bro you are the best I could not make a choice between the two and the reason why I discovered this monitor in the first place was because you reviewed them
I had the ASUS and sent it back due to being locked out of colour temp / white balance settings which I find ridiculous. It looked way too orange to me in HDR. I’m now waiting for the LG for UK release as I’ve had it confirmed you can change colour temp in HDR mode. Any inside info on a UK release ?
Also ordered the Magnus pro desk a few days back. 👌🏼 my set up will pretty much be the same as yours at this rate 🤣
i think the LG, but its my opinion. I like the design, and the matte finish.
I was all for the lg until u mentioned the usbc on the ROG. I could just use the extra hdmi port but the usbc is just more convenient with the charging
Always nice to watch a new Spawnpoint video on my 720p hp monitor
Don't do me like that 😂😩

your videos are crisp and clear. i enjoyed every bit of this review
I appreciate that!
This felt very impartial. Also a great side-by-side comparison by using the same source. You could see the color differences and also the black levels as you called out. Really hard to do I am sure BUT you were able to show it. I hear about the differences but never actually see them. Really well done!
Thanks for your comment. I know there's a lot of talk about these monitors, so I wanted to try to demonstrate the differences as best as possible. The bottom line is whichever monitor someone picks they will be happy with it.
Nice content this what we need to see!
Nice dude, I'm working on the same comparison right now except I wasn't able to snag an Asus. MSI 321URX vs 32GS95UE should be a solid comparison.
i'm leaning the LG myself as well though due to the speaker and dual mode.
Love your videos dude ❤
This is what I’ve been waiting for!! Thanks man 👌
No problem!
The video I have been waiting for!
Back with another banger mate. Still can’t believe the quality of these videos especially when you think it’s recorded on an iPhone 👀
ah thanks dude! Yes all on iPhone, which doesn't do a bad job considering the low light.
Absolutely excellent comparison video! I hope this video blows up!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for this video! I'm still undecided on which monitor I will get next but I look forward to your future reviews.
This is great comparison man. Thanks 🙏
Hey SpawnPoiint! Great video! I’ve been watching your content quite a lot lately because I have been trying to upgrade my gaming/productivity setup. I’m not sure if you have already but MSI also released a 32inch 4K OLED monitor, and I think it might be worth checking out and doing a review on. I definitely would like to see it. Anyways, great video!
I am going to take this in to consideration thank you
Honestly, this is a great, great comparison of the monitors. Very nice.
I love your setup. Ive seen the steelbooks you have for your PlayStation in other videos, and id love to start collecting that. Im just wondering where you buy yours?
Waiting for the comparison with MSI MPG 321URX😊
Waiting on the Gigabyte one later this year !
Thanks for the review ! May be to complete the list of new gen of gaming monitors. Can we expect a review of the new Alienware (AW3225QF) ? I know its curved and not flat but think that's worth it !
Thanks for the video! you are the best. Are you still going to keep the LG as your main monitor?
Regarding glossy vs semi glossy, the QD OLED has raised blacks on lit rooms, so in the video, every time the lights are on the LG always looks better.
And that's a negative for the Asus one. I wont always be using it in a very dark room. Hummm
which is interesting makes using the W oled alittle more appealing the other thing I noticed is it looked like the QD OLED was a bit too red
The Asus also has some harsh orange hue for some reason in comparison to the LG, making the colors look more natural on the LG. Maybe that's fixable in settings but as is the LG looks better to me here at all times.
@@Lightking813Agreed. Asus usually has a reddish tint to their displays. They also all have this "wide gamut" mode that usually makes it even more red lol. That can, however, be adjusted with custom User RGB color settings.
But I'm literally so torn right now between sticking with my LG pre-order or with cancelling it and buying this Asus QD OLED... I kinda dig the Dolby Vision HDR support but don't know if there will really be that big of a difference in the two monitor's HDR performance for my usage on PC...especially because I generally use lower monitor brightness (even when using HDR). And also, I have never seen either of these OLED coatings or sub-pixel layouts in person before....so I'm not really sure which one I would prefer...
QDOLED work in a cave. then perfect!
everytime spawnpoiint posts its a banger 😂
ah thanks dude!
@@SpawnPoiint seriously you have fueled and inspired me to build my own setup.
First of all, Your content is seriously amazing and unbiased and the camera angles and the videography is just so pleasing to my eyes. One question though, why don’t you upload in HDR? Does RUclips doesn’t do justice to HDR videos uploaded by individual content creators?
I agree it's a tough call to choose one or the other. It really boils down to personal preference and what your room environment is like for lights. I'm leaning towards the LG for the reason of being jack of all features but not the master of all. Thanks for your indepth review as it covered all these monitors' pros and cons.
The LG monitor is just beautiful! This is how these companies should design their monitors. Enough with these hideous, cheap and childish plastic gamer designs!
The LG design really does look great, the same as their TVs.
Yes. Asus need to grow up and follow, rgb trend died.
@@20puskinas1992...the LG has lighting too that is can be changed so they have it as well. It's just not as noticable
Yeah
I like how minimalist and clean the ultragear monitor is
I wish they made it with aluminum and no plastic like Apple monitors
Yeah rgb is way too 2016 now. It looks cringy
Watching this on the ROG PG32UCDM, absolutely love this monitor.
How bright can the room get before those blacks start raising/looking magenta?
@@thepadster123 Haven’t noticed anything like that. But my room is pretty dim and the monitor is not close to my windows.
@@Lirion so in those conditions, blacks look as perfect as say on an oled Phone (assuming you have one) or an lg oled tv?
@@thepadster123 In those conditions I would say yes the blacks are as good as my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

2024 OLED- Please make a video or share a link of your personal settings for each monitor!!!
Thank you for the beautiful comparison❤. I was looking for a video comparing glossy and matte in high quality on a new monitors. Now I understand everything. but
How did you do that? Two monitors on only one ps5, and the quality is very excellent
I’m using a 4K HDR splitter so I can duplicate it on two screens 🫡
Thanks for your review, mate. I'd go with LG because I sit next to the window and matte suits better in my case. Could you compare LG with AW3225QF?
I think there is only one condition to compare both oled technologies, the lifespan. The Rtting did a nice job to compare both technology qd- and woled. According review of long burn in test, the qd oled are more prompted to be burn in because lack of white subpixel push the entire subpixel to reproduce white color. I would definitely take woled tech for production work and qd oled for content consumption. And of course glossy panel is a lot crisp in dimmed condition which is preferred by gamers. There are also a lot of users they used their woled's as productivity monitor since lg c2 and the big bunch of them never experienced burn in.
Nice 2024 OLED comparison. I’d personally pick the ROG because of the warranty for burn in and glossy screen.
Any thoughts/future review on the GIGABYTE AORUS FO32U2?
Wow that was close. LG for me by a whisker
You are simply one of the best reviewers. I enjoy all your videos and how much detail and insight you share. You have inspired me to create my own gaming setup. With that said, the Sony M9, even though costly is the Monitor I have been wanting for a while, however after watching this video you have peaked my interest in an OLED gaming monitor. The prices are crazy but in your opinion are these monitors way better than the Sony M9? Thank you for your help and insight. I greatly appreciate it and you. Nuff respect Spawn Point 💯
Earlyish for once lol, looking forward to this one!
This is really early haha. Thanks too.
I would go for the LG monitor. I've got a glossy LG OLED TV and I have to close my curtains to use it during the day, I don't want to have to close them to use my PC.
That matte on the LG isnt bad at all compared to older models. Almost didnt notice it till you got closer.
2024 OLED great video, looking forward of getting the Asus monitor looks great.
Great video but it would have been great if the black levels were shown at different levels of ambient light.
Nice vid! Do both of then support firmware updates?
Yes, msi is the only ones not offering firmware updates in their lower end oleds
Would you be able review the MPG 321URX QD-OLED and do another video comparing them? 2024 OLED
I’ll have a look at grabbing one
I love the setup I might make that my setup.
Hi Spawn, Thanks for your videos really they very helpful and informative too... may i ask you to review lenovo laptop yoga pro 9i 14" screen. much appreciate it
I personally just got a 42” C3 & I’m loving it!
that’s what I use cheaper and a bigger screen I think it’s the better buy
I tried this TV but I can't stand the glossy panel, especially the white light. But otherwise incredible image, absolute black and phosphorescent HDR color.
I need matte
Idk how people use 42 inch 4k TVs as desktop monitors. It has worse PPI than a 27 inch 1440p monitor.
@@chy.019027 inch 4K is the way to go
@@chy.0190 Yes, but you don't need to sit as close to it due to the size.
i do prefer the design of the lg, very clean and also looks easy to clean as well :)
Really nice review!! Struggling to pick one as a mainly would use it to work (software dev) and play some PS5 and pc on the weekends. The LG seems nicer but really wish it had the usb-c connection. In case of productivity which one would you go ? Cheers
Good luck getting either one of these as they are rarely in stock for long periods.
Dang, I “neeeeed” that glossiness. Easy decision right there 😆
The colours look so deep on the glossy panel too
@@SpawnPoiint I currently use a 42” C2 but the Pixel density is bothering me at 4K. However I love the perfect blacks that the ROG doesn’t offer. Still sort of a toss up overall.
There's no perfect monitor/TV yet, they are holding out haha
Raised black levels on the QD-OLED defeats the purpose of gaming on an OLED screen. Highly disappointed
Thanks! Great comparison. Im using the same monitor for my work laptop and my stationary gaming pc so being able to connect them both easily to the same monitor on the ASUS one is huge and will simplify my setup by a great deal. This info was not talked about in other reviews I have watched from other channels....
However I think that matte and black levels seems better on the LG oled so I would pick that If I it was a pure gaming setup.
But the warranty on asus is very helpful since I work from home like 16 hours per week with a very static image. So would probably go for the asus one at this point.
I have the ASUS. Never going to matte coating after having had two glossy OLED. I also use the KVM switch regularly as I work from home.
4:30 is all you need to know if you want the QD or WOLED for bright rooms.
Yeah, that shot really shows the raised blacks.
@@Brian.Mraised blacks makes it look like a lcd monitor
Yeah. I paused there and was also about to comment this. I'm asking myself why I would even consider an OLED if I don't get those perfect blacks. You can't even see the bezels on the LG there since its so black.
I Bought the LG monitor is a Beast !!
After both of them getting compared i think i prefer qd oled i mean both of them are great monitors but i like punchier colours of qd oled and i like qd oled's sub pixel layout more but only think i didn't like about qd oled is coating i love glossy coating but qd oled's coating have worst reflection handling other wise i like qd oled more
Great video. Any information on 27" 4k versions? Especially the LG one, I would get one if it would be available in 27". In addition, is the sub-pixel issue fixed?
If only LG has USB-C, then it is a big win for a dad who works 8 hours a day and play console game afterwards. Nothing beats a single USB that charges the device and provides display output. And on that price, LG should have USB C input.
Exactly. That is what is holding me back from the LG, really unfortunate.
The screen on the rog looks a lot better anyway with the glossy display+ qd oled, so just get that
The LG looks much more natural. Im using a cx48 for gaming on pc right now and im not really sure if those 32" monitors are a worthy upgrade... would it be possible for you to compare the ppi of these new monitors ? because i guess this would be the only reason for me to switch to a newer model but than again the lack of uhbr20 is unfortunate too thanks for your great content :D
They're almost the same to me, so for me the main difference is the warranty, Dell, MSI and ASUS offer 3 years warranty including warranty (ASUS since this year february, so it covers all their new 3rd gen oled panels), meanwhile LG only offers 2 years warranty which doesn't include burn-in, therefor the LG is an instant skip for me.
I'm sure people who prefer glossy (like me) make sure to darken their room if they're going to choose such a panel, always when I start to game I close the curtain.
Matte is nice for people who do not control their household, for example living with parents or family and/or have their setup in the living room instead of a seperate office room.
Excellent! Presenting both the pluses and minuses of both monitors, allowing viewers to determine which will work best for them. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you too.
I’m definitely going for the LG. Mostly because the Rog monitor shows gaming in a very yellowish tint and the LG looks more natural and better in picture quality
YES! I ordered 2 QD-OLED panels (AW2725 and AW3225) and compared it next to my LG 27GR WOLED and the yellow tint was prevalent on both QD-OLED panels. I would opt for the LG personally. It surprises me that there aren't more people noticing and talking about this.
brother you could just adjust the color temperature
@@Zicrixdoesart unfortunately that wasn't an option that I could find when I was using the monitor with my ps5 in hdr.... navigating the menu with that nub was incredible painful as well
@@DuneDaddy you know I'm sorry, I didn't think of the console experience. They should really add an option for that, sorry friend
@@DuneDaddyawesome you have the option for that. I have a 48 inch Oled phillips tv, that has massive yellow tint. I wish I had LG money to get a better tv and that 32 inch monitor😮
Really wish that LG was gloss screen and had a usb c 100w
That would be the perfect monitor
what would the use be of USB-C? im clueless on that part tbh
@@SpawnPoiint Didn't you state in the video at 11:58 that you prefer matte over glossy though? So how could it be the perfect monitor?

Hey spawnpoiint! I am really considering getting the lg monitor… I have the c3 42” oled at the moment but think the size is just a tad too large. you think it’s worth switching?
the LG handles blacks better in rooms with light it seems, the ASUS has a purple-ish color.
2024 OLED 💙, i also had a ps5 since 2021 and for my birthday i will be buying spiderman 2 and god of war ragnarock i am so excited!

Switching between the refresh rates sounds interesting .as far as deep black and reflections are concern i am bit skeptical about the antiglare coating .
everyone talking about the yellowish on the ROG, I feel that can be adjusted in the picture/contrast settings
I went ahead and bought the ROG, yea it’s just has yellowish color out the box. Adjusted the settings and looks just like the LG . Y’all are dumb lol
4:53 Colors are so much better on the LG ! No match for me, and for the glossy surface, i had one once, never again except if i move in a cave lol
LG has natural color's. QD OLED has oversaturated colors
@@user-pu2ro8ok3r absolutely and I'm not a big fan of this like we can find on Samsung phones usually for example. I didn't think the diff was huge like this but side by side it's crazy

I think the main deciding factor is whether you are willing to optimize lighting. QD-OLED is cheaper and has clearly better HDR real scene performance if you can optimize the lighting conditions. If you cannot optimize the lighting conditions then QD-OLED is a purple mess. I went for QD-OLED personally since my only light sources are behind the monitor anyway, it's much cheaper too.
how do you optimize backlit keyboard to see it in dark 😁
@@touristhawk by not needing to look at the keyboard when typing 😅
Alternatively, a monitor light bar should do the trick since the light would not hit your screen directly and shouldn't affect the image quality too much.
"Clearly Better HDR real scene performance"
No mate, the real scene performance would be not being locked up in a pitch dark room like a goblin when ever I want to use my 1500 euros monitor it would be me expecting a consistent performance of my monitor anytime I decide to press the power on button without doing mental gymnastics around the house to make sure the monitor will have actual black colours and not worse blacks than a 500 Euros Calibrated IPS panel.
@@user-fg6mq3dg3d It's a fair point but I've been a basement dwelling goblin for a decade already and would continue to do so regardless of what monitor I purchase. That's why QD-OLED just has no downside for me and comes at a considerably cheaper price (Alienware 1200 euro). If circumstances were different I would seriously consider WOLED though.
@@user-fg6mq3dg3d but the matte coating on WOLED will destroy your experience and blacks anyway. the scattered light across the matte screen makes everything look bleak, makes blacks look like whiteish and makes the image sometimes hazy. the truth is simply that there is no perfect monitor yet. but if you aren't obsessed with matte coatings then QD-OLED should be better, despite the raised blacks
Now we just need to wait for that PG32UCDP
I already put my kidney for sale just to be ready with the cash when it's out 😂
The raised blacks on the QD looks way more significant here than it did in reality for me. maybe just because of direct light on screen? Had a LGC2 and a S95B and in dim or dark rooms they both looks great with dark blacks. But yes, the LG is slightly darker if there is any light. The video just made it look like an LCD, which it doesnt actually look like.

Hi, I am really enjoying your videos. Not because I am a Gamer, but because of the way you make them. One question: why would you not favour curved gaming monitors? I noticed that many of the Gamers on RUclips would prefer flat screens. Best, Tim
The raised blacks during usage in a bright room on qd-oled panels is enough to make me buy the lg panel
2024 OLED. Definitely going for the LG later this year as the versatility of being able to play in any lighting condition paired with the dual mode 240hz 4K/480hz 1080p is a pretty good value proposition as it’s like buying 2 high end monitors in one.
Thanks! Yes that makes sense too.
I’d go see QD in person first the matte is disgusting in my opinion
@@NexGenTek I had the Alienware QD-OLED and while it objectively had the better screen, those advantages immediately go out the window the moment it gets assaulted by a bit of natural or artificial lighting. @@NexGenTekMatte is great because I can play in pretty much any lighting condition while retaining the qualities of OLED. I had one of those Alienware QD OLEDs but I sold it because the blacks turns into a purplish haze the moment any form of natural or artificial light hits it. It just didn’t feel like it was providing that much value compared to its WOLED matte counterparts for me.
@@arondyte318 It’s hard to believe that statement sorry but I have 3 QD TVs/Monitor and the Quantum Dots only get excited with light is shining directly on the display also it would have to be a scenario, where the entire screen was pitch black for some reason which rarely ever the case! I'm literally trying to choose between these 2 monitors currently, but STILL weighing up the differences and what would be better for me. More/better warranty or a matte finish that doesn't show me staring at myself in a daylit room
Haha that’s where I’m at too. Neither are 100% perfect.
Los dos son muy buenos, pero el color negro absoluto del LG no tiene competencia. Habrá que ver el tema de los pixeles quemados a largo plazo. Gracias por el vídeo👍
This is why i want w-oled
Any ambient light messes up the qd-oled picture
In fact, the main problem is the coating of Samsung display panels. The mirror coating of Samsung OLED TVs and Samsung high-end mobile phones is top-notch. Direct light is not very obvious when facing the mirror screen, but it has not been used in PC display panels.
@@henry9719 i dont think they can do it yet on a 32 inch screen at 140dpi

Totally understand that too, the glossy always looks nicer in the right lighting too.
I have come to prefer the matte screen on the woleds. I like that I don’t see my silhouette on when gaming and the raised blacks on the qd oleds are just more reason to go with the lg. I do have really think that people have blown the whole matte vs glossy oled thing out of proportion.
Indeed, because the coating applied by LG on the OLED display looks clearer than the coating on ordinary displays.
