the reason why 27" isnt 1440p or 24" 1080p is simply because it displays the actual physical pixels for those sizes, a 1:1 readout. So since this is a 140ppi monitor it simply has more pixels at 27" compared to a 1440p version, as those only result in 110ppi. But good thing that you can still use a higher resolution input which gets downscaled, so 1440p on the 24" mode looks super crisp as you mentioned in the video.

DSC is not lossless at all. By definition it is a lossy compression algorithm just like MP3s are for sound files. The marketing term "virtually lossless" used for DSC is just a marketing name and is defined by "when all the observers fail to correctly identify the reference image more than 75% of the trials" to be precise. Can you detect MP3 from lossless files? With crappy headphones it might be hard, hook it up to anything decent and it's plainly obvious. DSC is not the same quality but it is a very good practical solution to the bandwidth limitation of the past. It's time to face it out though since we have had new interfaces for a while already at our disposal. But DSC is lossless, no way around that. I am not sure what you mean by saying "it's at least lossless in our experience". Better than lossless generating additional information which wasn't even there to begin with?
Even HDMI 2.1 will use DSC for this resolution/refresh rate. Also I don’t know what good this “important disclaimer” is when no nVidia card has DP 2.1 and I don’t think any monitor does either. Thank you so much for covering the screen size feature, to which I had no idea the ASUS could do this, as far as I know only the gigabyte has this feature. Two things: 1) As always, great review. You've been heavily influencing my purchasing since your first GSX 1000 video and if I hadn't just bought an OLED monitor two weeks ago, I would have bought this one based on this review. 2) I need to know what that sweater/hoodie is so I can pick one up. Keep on keepin' on, man
Owned this monitor for two monts now. It’s pretty much perfect. The only downside is that HDR in desktop is unusable due to brightness variation. Same problem with LG OLED TVs too and all other OLED panels. However this monitor has fixed brightness LDR mode, which completely eliminates brightness fluctuation in desktop use. But you lose HDR. Not a big deal, since games run in full screen mode. But a bit awkward for RUclips HDR videos for example. Also worth noting that the 95W power delivery over USB-C requires lowering max brightness. So in practice it only charges your laptop at 65W. Not a problem with M3 Max or similar efficient laptop, but could be a problem with heavy Windows gaming laptop.
Dude you very good at what you do. So much information But presented well, it didn’t feel like too much because of your flow and delivery. You were on the point. Normally, I skim through videos but yours I watched the whole thing. Great job.
The monitor is worth the price, TVs get better specs. Same tv panel gets 3000 bits peak not 1000. It also gets 90% rec 2020 not 80%. This hits 240hz instead of 144hz the tv can do.
It's still a clickbait title (which isn't inherently bad), it's just there happened to be good content behind it. People really need to stop using "clickbait" incorrectly. Clickbait just means "attention grabbing title". And that is independent of whether the video is good or bad.
Hey, this is the first video from you I've ever watched and I just wanted to give you something to think about. When I was browsing for reviews of this monitor your video popped up several times and I didn't click on it because the title didn't say review in it and there is a sea of videos that literally just discuss the monitor without actually having it in their possession (reading spec sheets of the website etc). If you want to stand out from those and get more clicks I'd recommend making it clear in your titles that it's actually a review and not just a discussion video. It took about 3 recommendations from RUclips for me to finally give in and watch this and only then did I realise it was a review that I should watch, by the way, you did a great job reviewing it :)
I have burn in on my lg oled tv from my kids playing fortnite and watching fortnite videos. Mostly watching fortnite videos and this has only been within 2 years. The health bar and weapons areas are now burned in. It is not like they have watch videos all day they have school and go to sports so i think it is important for people to know.
yeah nah i wont be stuffing around with the resolution only factor for me will be that OLEDS are a bit less bright than normal lcd monitors. I knew that 27 inches is about maximum for any gamers but they went with 32 inches for maybe an all round gaming/entertainment size as it is OLED and so movies and other things come into it. Only other factor for buying this monitor is the so called 'pixel fix' thing cleaner . hmm possible gimmick but its interesting
The thing about simulating a smaller screen is your gonna get burn in after playing games all the time like that. the panel is just going to be uneven colour.
I had this monitor and sent it back. They’ve locked the settings when In HDR mode. You can’t change anything and to your liking while in HDR which I find absolutely ridiculous.
I watched your review of Asus PG32UCDM, just wondering Asus PG32UCDM and this LG Ultragear 32GS95UE-B, which one you prefer in 4k? I'd love you play with high refreshrate like 480hz but if not in 1080p, just compared both with 4k 240hz, which one is better?
I bought this monitor, I took it back, It took all day adjusting it and then I discovered a brown 1/4" round blotch on the left side. I purchased the MSI MAG 401QR IPS 40". Once calibrated HDR. it is fantastic. All my games seem like new and it's half the price at $499.99. No OLED burn in to worry about. perfect with a clamp on mount.
I'll be waiting for the PG32UCDP model that has 480Hz mode also matte too. Being 32" for competitive fps to me will be no problem, can easily push it a bit further away, 9dm dept desk. The simulated physical size and custom resolutions is neat. I appreciate high PPI but for some fps games I can literally do 1080p at 50% res scale hah so scaling thing whatever. Though I'll probably just use 1080p 480hz at native for some games. Will push it far enough to make it feel like 24"/27" if I want, easy. But great stuff, really aside from lack of DP 2.0 for futureproofing, another thing I'd like to see is full Hz BFI and BFI sync.
Great video, as always. You're obviously impressed with this monitor. Still out of my price range, but I'm not in a massive hurry to upgrade my existing monitor. Gonna be really exciting when these dip below that $1k mark. Really live the resolution option feature. Really great value add, imo. The other monitor people will surely be looking to copy that.
Ohhhh I like this a lot actually. I’ve been really happy with my other ASUS monitors so I’m happy that the new best is even better. Thanks for the review
the aspect control feature is amazing however it’s not really the same as having a 4k 27” or 24.5” monitor as there obviously isn’t physically that many pixels in those sizes. Either keeping the default resolution or a lower one that scales well will probably give you the best image and performance.
My light source is a relatively dim light bulb up overhead. So I don't think LIGHT SOURCE reflections will be a problem. My concern is the direct reflection of the PC user. Can you tell me whether you see yourself reflected like in a mirror? The ideal for me is I see a black silhouette and nothing else.
knowing not much about monitor technology, are there gonna be 25inch OLED monitors for said competitive gamers or is that not worth to produce/not easy to produce. I mainly play valorant and i would LOVE a 25inch OLED at like 240Hz or 360Hz
Everyone always argues that OLED has enough brightness, But it is obvious when you see a panel that has 500 nits vrs 250 nits that brighness truly increases color saturation, vibrancy, and pop. That was one of my only grievances going from a 500 PLUS nit panel in SDR vrs the 245 nit Oled SDR. The difference Is night and day literally. There is a point in which we will be able to max out brightness and start getting diminishing returns, But OLED is far from that number. I had the ASUS PG35VQ monitor and I believe it hit above 500 nit brightness in SDR and obviously 1000 nit HDR. When I got my OLED(AW3423DW), I looked at both panels side by side in real time and even though the OLED panel was superior overall in a lot of different ways a cried because of the loss of that vibrancy that 500 nits got you...
I've mostly used Apple computers/laptops with bright and high DPI monitors. Most of the MacBook monitors are in the 450 to 550 nit range in SDR. Aren't you finding the 260 nit full screen brightness to dim for productivity work and web browsing?
You can customize the resolution on cropped mode? Why did no one else mention this? This is awesome. My biggest concern with using the cropped mode is that the pixels would burn uneven if you play a lot of hours in cropped mode. Similar to playing 16:9 on ultrawide oleds.
OMG thank you so much for your time and researching the dp 2.1 issue. I have a 7900xtx and wasn't sure if I should upgrade from 1440p to 4k without dp 2.1 for future proofing. that being said I game next to a window so I will probably wait for the woled coming later this year from asus. great informative video!
I bought this monitor and its pretty amazing. ALTHOUGH I would have liked to see some size option SKUs for both the UCDP & UCDM, like 35" or 45" versions.
I'm a bit confused on the DSC part of your video where you mentioned the benefits of having DSC on. Allowing you to hit higher frame rates which I understand. However you said that was all in "limited" as opposed to Full in outputting dynamic range. For an OLED monitor and for someone who has a mini-led right now and is in love with HDR, wouldn't I always keep the dynamic range setting to full?
Unfortunately ELMB at 120hz isn't good enough for 60fps games. You get double images during motion. You need it at 60hz, which monitor manufacturers don't add because it flickers too much.
Great review and video! This would be my 240hz OLED of choice as of now, but I'm waiting for the Aorus monitor to drop before I make any final decisions.
Many new phones can record video in Dolby Vision (my OPPO Find X6 Pro from last year does), so the only case for it on the PC may be to play them back them on the monitor instead of the phone screen.
5:00 With burn in are we looking at 3-5 year life cycle for these monitors? They are gorgeous enough, but I don't know if two GPU cycles are the norm with OLED
Thanks for the good review! If you play 4k you're better off pushing the monitor back enough if that's a possibilty than reducing size to 27 otherwise you'll lose some clarity. But if the rig is struggling with 4K I would definitely consider opting in at 27 or 24.5 at those "odd" resolutions as those would be equivilent for native for this monitor at those sizes. It's pretty cool and unique that it's an option and it definitely adds more wiggle room to manage to get competitive games hit that 240 target with a good rig! Definitely peakes my interest to get this monitor

Dude you very good at what you do. So much information But presented well, it didn’t feel like too much because of your flow and delivery. You were on the point. Normally, I skim through videos but yours I watched the whole thing. Great job.
Not a bad overview. thanks for showing extra menus features - would be nice to have a dedicated video about each thing in the menu of 32ucdm.
Excellent review, first vid of yours I've seen and on the strength of it, you got a new subscriber..👍👍 Look forward to more..
Great video! Just found this channel, keep up the good work!
These monitors simply are too expensive. I won't pay $1300 for a monitor if I can get a 55" OLED TV for the same
Right? What the fuck is so special about a monitor that warrants that price tag? I'm gaming on a 65in LG C1 right now and it's amazing.
The monitor is worth the price, TVs get better specs. Same tv panel gets 3000 bits peak not 1000. It also gets 90% rec 2020 not 80%. This hits 240hz instead of 144hz the tv can do.
@@alexlopez299560 fps vs 240? 32” is already to big.
Keep in mind if you do gaming on it the TV is ass for frames. Most won't even run 4k about 60fps. These are perfect for an all around setup
how the hell are u meant to use a 55inch tv as a computer screen??? This is a PC monitod, not for consoles …
Normally these videos titles are clickbait, but holy shit this was a fantastic and informative video BadSeed. Reliable as always.
Buddy, your delivery is ON POINT. Absolutely love your format, your knowledge and depth of review. God damn. This was shockingly good content. Subbed!
yeah nah i wont be stuffing around with the resolution only factor for me will be that OLEDS are a bit less bright than normal lcd monitors.
You've come along way @BadSeed Tech since the first time I saw a video from you, in what feels like years ago now. Congrats.
Best review for the monitor. Thanks for talking about 24 and 27 mode !! Much appreciated
Awesome review man. One of the best I have seen. Thank you!
Subscribed. Thanks for being so clear and to the point. Excellent explanations of everything. This is how RUclips should be done!
Dude, awesome review but even better beard! That thing is trimmed to perfection 😃
Yo thanks brother! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Incredibly comprehensive and well produced review. Thanks man this was so enjoyable to watch.
The thing about simulating a smaller screen is your gonna get burn in after playing games all the time like that. the panel is just going to be uneven colour.
Great review, I was just able to snag one of these earlier today and I couldn't be more excited. This looks CRAZY..
Great video and review! I've already ordered this screen. Hopefully getting it in mid april. Very excited about this monitor.
I had this monitor and sent it back. They’ve locked the settings when In HDR mode. You can’t change anything and to your liking while in HDR which I find absolutely ridiculous.
And biggest questions is it worth that money if it will burn oleds after just 3 years?
I need the 480hz with 240hz BFI on the WOLED coming later this year. BFI will be the deciding factor
I watched your review of Asus PG32UCDM, just wondering Asus PG32UCDM and this LG Ultragear 32GS95UE-B, which one you prefer in 4k? I'd love you play with high refreshrate like 480hz
but if not in 1080p, just compared both with 4k 240hz, which one is better?
I’m stuck deciding between the two as well.
This is the single best review of this monitor on the Internet, highlighting key features and presenting solid arguments like no one else is. Amazing.
I disagree with you, because he is yapping a lot.
The best new OLED monitor reviews (imo) have been done by Monitors Unboxed.
Great review! You explained many things that I had no idea about really well. Deserves a sub!
Far out. This is my first watch with you. Silly name but you are a great fast no BS presenter. Thanks.
Love your voice....think I've found a new fav channel
Criminally underrated channel.
Ive been loving these monitors reviews! Keep on!
great details in the video , thank you
Can you offer some perspective on this vs the FO32U2P? Trying to decide between the two.
Sadly the asus is 1700 euro in Belgium, where the Alienware is 1100. I think the difference is too big.
Great review! Would you be able to compare this to the MSI MPG 321URX?
Great info. Really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these.
the aspect control feature is amazing however it’s not really the same as having a 4k 27” or 24.5” monitor as there obviously isn’t physically that many pixels in those sizes. Either keeping the default resolution or a lower one that scales well will probably give you the best image and performance.
Such an awesome info packed review. Other channels would do good to learn from a master. Thank you.
Thanks for the review! What is the keyboard at 0:31 ?
Can anyone answer this? :D
knowing not much about monitor technology, are there gonna be 25inch OLED monitors for said competitive gamers or is that not worth to produce/not easy to produce. I mainly play valorant and i would LOVE a 25inch OLED at like 240Hz or 360Hz
the graphs at 12:29 are labeled incorrectly, thats confusing. Could You explain wich is wich? otherwise good video
The beard trim/cut looks ultra clean 👌
This or the UDCP?
My benchmark is my G16 Oled. I really like how the colors pop.
I've mostly used Apple computers/laptops with bright and high DPI monitors. Most of the MacBook monitors are in the 450 to 550 nit range in SDR. Aren't you finding the 260 nit full screen brightness to dim for productivity work and web browsing?
I have two of these in dual setup. I love them honestly.
0:04 what is that Wallpaper called?
You can customize the resolution on cropped mode? Why did no one else mention this? This is awesome.
My biggest concern with using the cropped mode is that the pixels would burn uneven if you play a lot of hours in cropped mode. Similar to playing 16:9 on ultrawide oleds.
most thorough review of this monitor i've seen yet.
Thanks!
Really like the video, new subscriber from Chile, regards.
Now the main question is PG27AQN or this monitor 🤔
I literally started looking for a 4k OLED last night...PERFECT timing!
Do you recommend the asus or msi over the alienware? can you make a top 3 video with pros and cons?
I bought this monitor and its pretty amazing. ALTHOUGH I would have liked to see some size option SKUs for both the UCDP & UCDM, like 35" or 45" versions.
Had to turn on notifications for your channel, I never see your videos in my feed.
Thanks for you video
Can I buy it for a Mac Studio ? I love high refresh rate for productivity too and I want 4K, but afraid of the scaling mode.
1500€ here in europe :/ the alienware 3225 is at 1060€ right now...
Your content is amazing!!!
