Searched for a new video today for the heck of it & found his for the 1st time!! He says unplug TV. Continue to hold the power button as you REPLUG the TV. As soon as you see the fire TV screen logo let the power button GO! If you don't see the reset screen continue to try! It worked the second time because I let the power button go early enough. (This is different from all the OTHER instructions that say continue to hold the power button until the TV turns back on.) After the factory reset. The TV asked if I wanted to use my phone or remote to finish. It took two tries because my Internet is slow. Thankfully, my Amazon settings allowed me to restore everything on the TV💃🏽!💯

Omg 😱 I was about to loose my mind and you saved me and my family. 😂 I was fighting with the child lock for about 20 min even after resetting it a dozen times and then my husband checked and the tv wasn’t connected to the internet, but we couldn’t get past the child lock to get to our account to connect and so it was factory reset time… but couldn’t get past the infuriating child lock!! Your reset method SAVE me from chucking my tv into the abyss! Thank you 🙏 😊
Thank you for this video. The Toshiba FireTV in the master bedroom bricked itself at 3am last night and got stuck on the firetv booting screen. I actually figured out how to do this on my own, but the method is the same and I thought why not research why this happens to old FireTV's. A factory reset caused the TV to go back to the setup screen instead of bootlooping. It has been working ever since. My mother would have chucked it in the e-waste if not for this easy fix. She bought a new TV anyway though.
Why wouldn't you just use the remote to reset it if you are going to use it after the reset is completed? If we don't have the remote to reset the tv we aren't going to have the remote to use to set up the tv after the reset. Can you show us what to do in that scenario?

I do a factory reset, then my remote is already synced, I then select language with my remote, then the next screen is saying “searching for remote, tap home button” but when I do, nothing happens. The remote is clearly paired to the tv, as I can select language etc. It’s not the home button that’s broke, as I have use the exact same remote on my sons same jvc tv in his room

Hi, my insignia fire tv was doing this small screen thing like resolution issue on pc so I did update and still doing small screen. I did factory reset but I don't have original remote. I tried for hrs to get it to pair- holding the home for 40 sec, holding left back and menu and unplug and all that. Nothing worked. Its the "primote" from amazon.. so I ordered another remote hoping it would work and nothing. For both remote- they automatically connect to tv- I can on and off and I can click on the language but then it never connects to home button. I tried to connect firestick and tv won't let me change input. It's crazy to have to buy new tv after factory reset just because don't have original remote. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!! Hope that makes sense lol
Be careful when you follow this guy’s instructions. Assuming you don’t have a remote you will eventually need one after the factory reset. He’s just gonna leave you with an unusable tv.
Toshiba basically said if you factory reset like he's doing without your factory Remote that came with the tv your only option is to order one directly from Toshiba programmed for your specific tv which is bullshit in and out of it self a $350 tv I can't use except for store display mode or stuck trying to pair
My Amazon fire tv screen is struck to its logo screen . I have followed the steps mentioned after selecting the reboot system now option the logo struck screen appears. And rebooting is not done, what should I do? Is there any other way to reset it? Please tell
For all the users saying you can't set your FireTV back up because the remote got bricked, use a keyboard to set the TV back up and re-pair your remote by going to the pairing screen and holding the home button for 10 seconds.

Same negative as some other people issues - after doing the hard reset my remote doesnt pair even when doing the back button/menu/left arrow etc etc.. its basically a brick now any body figure out how to make the remotes work ? Or how to manually click through the buttons
@@Kill--alllll---IDF I got it to work. N just sold it for 250. It was a 65" omnifire . I plugged it into the internet router and since it powered on by itself I let it sit there for an hour or so. Then I manually shut it off like 2-3 x and let it power on again. Let it sit hooked up to the router for idk a couple hours or so... Went and checked it... Nothing. So I unplugged it and took the back off bc the next day I was going to figure out a way to make it stop updating I was going to start with the Wi-Fi wire while its doing it staying just unplug it and see if that doesn't cause it to stop updating automatically like it was and the next morning I went to turn it on and I just glanced at the screen and I realize the update was password admin stuck at before and I sat there and watched it and cheered it on... rubbed its hips and called it a good girl and it finished updating!!!!! I don't know I think I got lucky but that's all I did. And it worked great after that. I salvaged it from the landfill apparently somebody else didn't have the patience or know how I don't know either way I made $250 just had to have a little patience.

My fire TV Omni series 4k 75” keep restarring every three seconds I don’t know why this TV is doing this and what went wrong while I was watching RUclips the screen started to froze then after I unpluged from the Power it started it started restarting every three or four seconds and can do these all day. Do not do this! You will BRICK YOUR TV UNLESS YOU HAVE THE REMOTE TO THE TV! If you don’t have the remote the tv came with you will brick it. I now either have to find this remote or buy a new tv!

Why wouldn't you just use the remote to reset it if you are going to use it after the reset is completed? If we don't have the remote to reset the tv we aren't going to have the remote to use to set up the tv after the reset. Can you show us what to do in that scenario?
