How To Fix An Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K With Boot Loop Constant Rebooting Problem.
In this video I'm showing a fix for the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K to fix the issue of boot looping.
The boot loop problem is when the Amazon Fire TV stick 4K keeps switching off after you switch it on, it then carries on in this cycle of switching on and switching off, hence the term boot loop.
This boot loop problem can also be seen as a constant rebooting of the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K. Again, when an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is doing this constant reboot it will remain stuck doing it and never reach the menu. This is in effect means that you Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is broke.
There are some other issues with Amazon Fire TV Sticks that a replacement USB cable or replacement power supply adaptor may fix. Although, if your problem looks like the one I'm showing in this video then it's probably the boot loop issue.
Another way of possibly fixing the boot loop issue is by using ADB debugging but to use ADB USB debugging with an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K it would already have to have been registered to the PC computer that you would run the ADB debugging software from.
In short, this method using a powered OTG USB cable and USB keyboard with the key commands on booting, is the only way that I found that fixed my boot loop problem with the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K. This method may work for other, earlier versions of the Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick

Unfortunately, I can’t get this to work. I’ve bought a new OTG cable but there is no response from the keyboard. Should the Caps and num lock lights work when it’s connected to the OTG?
I was panicking. Had a 2nd gen 4K fire tv stick since 2018 or so. Just as others, fired up tv one day to see loop of death. Read a ton of information. Nothing worked. Decided to try one last thing. I had originally replaced the oem usb cable with a longer one. Worked fine for forever. Went back and stuck on a different, slightly higher end, usb cable...and viola! Works like a charm again. This video helped spark the idea. Thanks 🙏

I was disappointed and had already talked to the seller who would return it but I found your post on RUclips and FINALLY solved my problem. I went into SAFE MODE and went back to factory settings. Worked perfectly. also had to do a factory reset to stop it looping. pretty sure the near bricking resulted from installing APK files to get DSTV onto the stick (worked on my non 4k stick though). Had a bit of trouble finding the OTG cable in South Africa - Amazon delivers here, but transport costs are not feasible. For any SA viewers - I bought the cable from geewiz - Micro USB Host OTG Cable with Micro USB Power connector (20cm)

Great vid. A million vids telling us to restart, unplug, do a factory reset (when you can't even get to factory reset button) as if we couldn't have guessed to unplug it. I appreciate you going beyond. I don't have that fancy cable but I appreciate the guidance. With this being a common problem, the remote should have a Safe Mode option. Thank you for doing what Firestick didn't

To be more specific it is a 3rd gen Fire Tv 4k. I tried to download all the associated files to sign onto Google as certain apps and games need it. Yes I play with a lot of APK's. I've done it before and no problems but deleted it to make space. I guess the recent updates causes this to boot loop. So after going on safe mode I deleted all the Google stuff and just did a restart. Working as it should be. Thanks David!

hello. i got the right cable from amazon. if i connect it together the keyboard led flashes for a short second and then nothing. seems the keyboard got not powered correctly or got too less power. its just a default cherry keyboard without additional stuff. even with a working firestick my keyboard dont get recognized :(

Actually it was super easy, exactly as you did.This is the faster and easier method ever discovered. Don't worry I also play with sidleoded apps.I installed Google services unofficial for playing android games which are not starting without Google I've played real racing 3 on fire TV 4k that's why I need Google services.For those who are interested even gta San Andreas work perfect at high settings and with Bluetooth controller.

Just tried with an Amazon OTG cable. It appears the cable i bought was not POWERED. *eyeroll* looking at ordering a Rii one as per the video, but if this fails, would a USB Hub do the same?

Micro USB Host OTG Cable with Micro USB Power connector - look for a female normal USB, a female micro usb and a male micro usb. the links to amazon above show the type of cable.

Thank you so much. One other odd problem I'm having, is occasionally RUclips videos won't play. They start and stop or won't play at all. I see the little revolving balls on the screen as if the video is cueing up [ loading? ] to play . Please excuse my non-technical terminology I call them "The ring of death" [ my terminology ]Restarting the Firestick corrects the problem for another few weeks. Thanks and have a great day.
hi mate looked at your video and also looked at the comments . mine is stuck on the black screen doesn't load up to the white screen stays on the black screen wopuld this still go into safe mode if i bought a cable or is there a fix that your aware off to help me. also i have tried the adb software but it can not find the device as debugging is off. thanks mate.

After getting to safe mode, how did you manage to navigate to settings. Can it be done with the keyboard itself as my firetv remote does not work
Yes the keyboard arrow keys work and the enter key works. Now that I found a keyboard with the hamburger button next to the rt Ctrl. I'm still working on the rest after nearly a dozen resets. Good luck.
Does the leave it alone for 48-hour method work. Unplug it from the TV and just leave it plugged in with the power cord for 48 hours. Leave it plugged in the TV to the power for 48 hours after that it should boot up. Even Amazon customer service says leave it for 48 hours. BS that didn't seem to work. Some people say they left it alone plugged in after several months and then it worked.
I'm going to have to try the keyboard method..
Nope I got 2 firesticks and they both have this problem I haven't used them for months and they still don't work there unplugged and sitting on my dresser :/

Hi, does this work for 3rd gen? I went into boot loop on a brand new fire stick, managed to eventually get it on to do a factory reset, but the boot loop happened almost immediately again. I can only presume it was the surfshark vpn app I installed? This time I cannot get it out of the loop. Any ideas? Has anyone else had issues with surfshark app and can anyone recommend vpn which won't send the fire stick into boot loop. Thanks!

Muy agradecido, funcionó, lo pude revivir después de 3 meses de adquirido, creo que quedó así por instalarle el play store. Seguí el procedimiento indicado instalando un teclado y oprimiendo las 5 teclas en cuanto lo encendí, luego de entrar en modo seguro lo reinicié de fábrica, comenzó a actualizarse y al terminar se quedó en el loop, repetí el procedimiento por segunda ves y ahora si me envió a configurar el stick como cuando lo compré, lo que si demoró un poco al reiniciar si quiera unos 40 segundo a 1 minuto, que de nuevo queria entrar en modo seguro pero me di paciencia y al fin arranco.

I had the same problem, i just kept on pressing the tv button on the fire tv remote (one with the antenna type of logo on it, last central button on my fire tv remote), and it worked for me.
Whenever our fire stick goes to the menu but whenever we try to play something it just stops and then it just comes into a black screen without the bin then after daddy comes into another back screen with the logo but it doesn't come with this with the Amazon thing so what do I do next cuz we don't have a USB like that so

I have the 2020 Firestick, I can get into safe mode using the keyboard and cable but I am stuck in a screen that says Home is Currently unavailable. A network error has occurred. To check your devices' internet connection, go to Settings, Netowrk and follow the instructions. If the process persists, please contact Amazon customer service. Any ideas?
Looks like your network setting got whacked .
Follow instructions to go to the network settings screen and reenter all the settings for your wifi network. Part of the firestick relies on backend servers at Amazon which are also used to track your activities and preferences.
If reenter the settings does not work, the wifi chip may be fried or your wifi router may not be accepting the connection.

Just found an easier way.
Let the firestick go through the bootloop until it pops up some messages in (German?) at the bottom of the screen. I don't know what they say, but I see the play/pause icon in the message. Click play/pause on your remote at each prompt where you see the icon, then you'll see a message 'Finishing updates'. After that, you'll be taken to the sign-in screen for your Amazon account. Done!

Sorry my Gen 2 won't come out of the death loop from h-----l. Even with this key combo which is great to have I still can't shake it loose after many attempts. Just finding a keyboard with the hamburger button was an experience. Any gifted ideas , I'm open.

works well..... When in SAFE Mode unplug the keyboard ( do NOT turn Firestick off) and then use the remote to go to apps section next to the setting button on screen, select the app/s you last installed and delete them!! Mine were GOOGLE apps. Then reboot and all good ..........ONLY the corrupt apps removed.... FIRESTICK back to normal.......

My Fire TV 4K cannot access the LOGO interface after being powered on. I have tried changing the power supply, HDMI jack and monitor, but there is no response.

your video is good, but you miss some steps, after you plugged up the FS you didn't show how and what, connects to the monitor and where. the wires hanging over the monitor...what are they and where do they go? TheGr8Jeff
