I have acne rosacea. Your videos encouraged me to see a dermatologist a year ago and I’m so glad I did. My skin is the best it’s ever been. You really nailed it with the sunscreen and a basic skincare routine. I just thought I had acne so I was putting the worst things on my face. 🙈 My dermatologist knew right away what was going on and it was life changing. These issues can be so emotionally damaging.
I was diagnosed with rosacea quite a few years ago and I made some skincare changes right away but what helped me a lot were the lifestyle / food / drink changes I made .
@@jenniferosea I use cerave foaming cream cleanser, Aveeno triple oat serum, aveeno oat gel moisturizer. To take my makeup off, I use the oat cleansing balm from the inkey list. These are all fragrance free products. My prescriptions are: spirinolactone (it controls the hormonal breakouts), sodium sulfacetamide, and tretinoin 0.025%. I only use the sulfur wash once a week. I very gradually incorporated the tretinoin into my routine. I started using it once a week for a few weeks, then twice, and so on. I avoided the retinization process doing it that way. 👍🏻 The sunscreen I use is from La Roche Posay - anthelios tinted mineral.
I have the papulopustular rosacea too and I also swear by the aveeno gel moisturizer and the tinted la roche posay sunscreen. I've built uptolerance to the cerave retinol Dr Dray recommends for sensitive skin. Best skin I've had in 18 years!
A lot of my rosacea triggers are also my migraine triggers! All inflammatory responses 😖. For my rosacea I have had great success with regular laser treatments, especially for the telangiectasia, in addition to avoiding sun, alcohol and spicey foods. All helpful for both conditions. Thank you so much for this video Doc!

Thank you for addressing the malar rash of lupus. As a person with lupus, my skin has definitely taken a beating over the years. It attacked my kidneys a while back and it was paying attention to that skin rash that led me to think it could be lupus related. And yes, Sun is a huge trigger of not only the rash, but the internal flare as well. Thanks again for a great video.
I deal with both Rosacea and chronic migraines. I was first diagnosed with migraines at the age of two. I do treat them through a neurologist. I had no idea that the two issues could be related. Thank you so much for sharing this information!
My mother had terrible rosacea, and she used to have migraines in the teen years. It came through HER father, as no one in her maternal background ever had that happen. It only takes one parent, as this also affected my brother and myself. She had a gluten allergy too, my mother did.
Dr D 🧡 I also find, holistically speaking, that many times redness is from bad products and wearing foundation and concealers and doing so many invasive and actives that people simply don’t need or over do. I also find gut health is a huge part. Many times when I take a client off all of these things, their skin improves miraculously!! So many times they come to me and have self diagnosed themselves with rosacea or psoriasis or eczema when in fact it is simply active fungus. I have a before & after video of a client Anne and she wouldn’t leave the house because the redness and irritation was so bad. She had tried everything. Her after picture in one month was amazing by treating it like active fungus. Thank you for always allowing me to give my holistic pout. Of view. You are very gracious. There may be no connection, but when I started using Tretinoin, I did keep having ‘hot flushes’, where at various points in my day, my face would flush. Predominantly my cheeks and over my nose. No rash, no pain, no dryness or obvious irritation, just heat and flushing. This didn’t persist for long, but did happen for a good few of months. I ran out of my retinoid and didn’t reorder for some time. Having restarted recently, very carefully to allow my skin to get used to the product again, I’m am experiencing the same flushes. I believe triggered by heat and cold air, hot drinks but not exclusively. Again, no rash, dryness, irritation. I did used to blush a lot, as a child. I’d forgotten all about it, although as a kid I really struggled and was embarrassed by it, this kind of reminds me of that experience. I’m ridiculously fair skinned...translucent haha
So glad to see you mention masks!! I am a nurse and by the end of a 12 hour shift I have red bumps on my face! And it clears up on my days off. Looks like I’ll be having this breakout for a while longer.
Thanks for a great video as always. I have rosacea and changing my skincare was the greatest thing for me - first of all NO chemical or physical exfoliants EVER, NO fragrance or alcohol (certain alcohols not all) in my skincare, makeup or haircare or anywhere. What does help me a lot is CeraVe and Aveeno calming Oat skincare routine with azelaic acid (like the ordinary one), over the counter retinol (CeraVe and no7) and niacinamide (the inkey list), sometimes I make myself a green tea compress, its very soothing for my skin (but not too cold or too hot). My worst enemies are red wine (though I can tolerate 5 to 10 tiny sips😊 before flushing kicks in) and SUN- its the worst, thankfully i don't get much of it living in the west of Ireland😄 And I DO NOT make a step out of the house without SPF, still looking for something that would not make me look like a walking grease ball though🙄
Yes, the topical info is GREAT and is helping me a lot, but I keep hoping/waiting for a video from her on the gut microbiome connection to skin health.
Oh my gosh, thank you for this video! I have always had a very red face, and was recently diagnosed with rosacea. It doesn’t help that I am super fair skinned, so it’s a lot more obvious. I had no idea that it was rosacea until I started having flushing though… Till then I just thought I had a very naturally pink face. Thank you for including the laser recommendations as well, because I had been considering having one for both my rosacea and the sun damage on my chest, and it sounds like a pulse dye laser would be the best way to go for both of them.
After over ten years of trying everything under the sun to help alleviate my redness, it turns out my "rosacea" and eczema, were caused by a severe nickel sensitivity. Sucks balls that it took me over a decade but thankfully both are under remission.
Yes definitely watch out for cleaning products if you have rosacea. Mrs. Meyer's gave me scales! There is a fragrance oil storage facility behind my house. A breeze with a lot of scent from that building will induce a rash! No candles, scents, etc. Neosporin is another one. You have to be really vigilant about your triggers and stick with the basics... Vanicream has been a lifesaver.
I have rosacea AND acne, probably because of stress, which only causes more stress. My dermatologist keeps saying "just relax", so yeah, the only thing I can do is wear sunscreen and hope it doesn't get worse
Maybe find an activity you love to do. Exercising, drawing, writing, gardening, playing with people or animals, sometimes getting happier chemicals in your brain can help the stress and cortisol levels.
I recommend using something with azelaic acid. I have type 1 rosacea and I’ve been dealing with it since my early teenage years. Lately, I’ve been using Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid booster (which is a serum/light cream texture in a tube) for about 7 months now and I’ve noticed it helping my redness go down about 30%. Even though the redness isn’t totally gone, I’ve noticed that azelaic acid has helped a lot.
At least redness is one thing I don't suffer with but I know several people that do. It's a frustrating condition for them. Thanks, as always for all you do to help people. Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a beautiful evening. 💟
@@staceym4469 yes my face is just starting to turn red because of new my medication for my acne and my acne routine. The combination of both and with the winter weather is causing it to be red. So I feel your pain.
I had contact dermatitis a few years ago from an extremely fragranced concealer. It was on my eye and the size of a dime and took 6 months to go away. I watched one of your videos that helped me 😊
@@Dan24. yes it was super red. Honestly less is more. Wash your face and apply moisturizer and don’t do anything else. Keep it very basic and wait for the skin to heal before trying any other products for redness. That would be my non doctor advice 😂
@@NG-68k Thank you for the advice! 👍 I’ve tried several products since the irritation. Cortisone creams which helped to reduce the redness and some moisturizers and creams which unfortunately didn’t help at all. My face gets even more irritated when I use moisturizer or any kind of basic skin care product actually. Last time I used a moisturizer was 3 days ago, I now want to leave my skin alone. All of this was caused by a moisturizer and plucking hairs on my face while it was irritated 😔 I’m currently 5 weeks in and while the redness has reduced it’s still there. I never though that this would take so long. At this point I’m worried this will never go away. How long did it take for your redness to go away ? Months ? Sorry for all the questions but I’m really stressed because of the redness. I wish I didn’t have to deal with any of this 😔
Why would the entirety of the face, permanently be a different color, pinker, than the neck and body? (In someone who avoids irritating ingredients in skincare.)
I like this question. Maybe because the face is always exposes to sunlight, whereas the neck is shaded by hair and clothing. ? So the face has more sun damage.
I have the same issue and as I read this and pictured the issue, High blood pressure crossed my mind. Flushing at the highest point of our bodies.. maybe too literal but hey- could be a possible lead to checkout ?
Omigosh wow....have had migraines for decades and didn’t make the connection between redness and prodrome. Thank you so much! This will help me know when to take my sumatriptan. Wow.
Video idea: best fast absorbing and hydrating hand care products. Particularly interesting for me as a surgeon since I naturally have to scrub the sh....out of my hands/arms but since we are all applying alcohol based hand sanitizers a lot more often these days maybe a matter of "public concern". I find that most hand creams leave a residue which is not ideal especially if one has to examine/touch other people frequently and put on gloves a lot...
Dr Dray, you always post videos of the issues I am having! Thank you, I think I have PIE and I am glad to hear that I picked the right active (tretinoin) to combat it
I wanted to mention that different intestinal diseases cause rosacea and skin rashes. It can be IBS, gastritis, h.pylori and parasites. Healthy gut=healthy skin. I have mild rosacea, what helps when it comes to creams, its Avene skin protecting cream Cicaflate. Actually bought this after Dr drays recommendation.
Dr. Dray, I’ve had only one migraine in my life - I came close to calling 911 thinking it could be an aneurism. My poor daughter has them much too often. I’ll forward this to her.
I had a period of glaring red skin, kind of swollen, weight gain, flaking fingernails, dry hair. Yup, I had been using uniodised sea salt and had stress and over work. It was a dreadful time, quickly solved by a course of Kelp. So weird.
My nose, and only my nose, is red ALL the time. Has been that way as long as I can remember - I’m 58. So frustrating. Only thing you mentioned that I thought it might be from is sun damage. But then why just my nose?
Thankyou so much for this video, Dr Dray!! Not until you mentioned the prolonged use of topical steroid that I realise the problem with my hand might have something to do with the steroid cream and I probably should stop using it. So once again really thank you for your work of educating us free:))))
It would be interesting to see a video explaining why a mineral sunscreen would stop working after it's SPF value has been "used up", because for the more scientifically minded or even the lay person it might seem counterintuitive that a mineral that blocks light on the skin would stop working, as opposed to an organic chemical which would be assumed to maybe degrade faster in the presence of different factors like light or chemical interactions. Is the mineral destroyed by the UV after a period of time? How does that work? 💓
@@Banana11128 Yes I'm wondering why it's SPF value is only so long when a mineral should be more stable than an organic chemical. But I haven't had the time to do the research on this.
Hi Dr Dray.. Orange extract, Ylang Ylang flower extract, any citrus fruit extract are masking agents aswell as fragrant component . right? All fragrant component are masking agent but all masking agents are not fragrant component. Right? Can you tell me what is difference between oil soluble masking agents and water soluble masking agents?
Thanks for great vid, Dr. Dray 🧡! Esp. interesting to hear, that there really is connection w migraines and redness. I have been thinking so longest time w my super sensitive, dry rosacea prone skin. My skin always goes much worse, when having bad pains because of my complicated chronic migrain and back & rheumatism pains. Sadly only very few neurologist here in Europe/Finland ever minds any other than straight head pain symptons. What retinol products you recommend, or is there any suitable for my skin?

Can you use antioxidants when using hydroquinone? And which are good? I haven’t seen the video yet but I know it will be good! Have a good day Dr.Dray 💕
At least one esty I follow has said use your antioxidant in the day and use the hydroquinone at night. There are also products that are formulated with both ingredients.
I had every month migraines for years they gotten even worse and horrible with the years until I realized I need to stop the contraceptive pill because you shouldnt continue the pill when having migraines with aura because it increases your chances for a stroke. I took the pill 15 years. I developed migraines after 7 years. After stopping the pill for 4 months I never had these horrible migraines again! This contraceptive pill Was causing my migraines for All these years!
*Migraines and rosacea are linked by histamine intolerance.* I have both and am doing all I can to heal my gut from the lining to the microbiome itself. Both conditions have improved dramatically since reducing my histamine load and by fasting and eating ridiculously clean whole foods. The worst migraine I ever had I couldn't formulate words even in my mind, but the sense I had was that I was dying of a brain aneurism. Was in a dark room, as you said, with a friend holding me up off the floor to vomit into the work trashcan. Dramamine works wonders for me, and turns out, it's an antihistamine, go figure.
I have rosacea and so many things trigger flares. In winter, if I'm out in the cold and then go inside where the heat is on I will flare up. Wind burn is painful. Alcoholic drinks. Skincare products. Also, I have clusters of extremely superficial capillaries. Just the other day a cashier sweetly turned a fan in my direction and said I looked like I was burning up. I thanked her but explained to her that my face is always red. It's frustrating to say the least.
Same! “Have you been running?” No it’s just my face! Only thing that’s worked for me are laser treatments at the derm which are very $$. Hoping using more spf and some dr dray recommendations will allow me to go longer between treatments. Just wanted to let you know the lasers do work. I was skeptical and put it off for a long time.
@@HemmyiiYes!! And the concerned questions "are you feeling ok??". I know people mean well and I never get angry with them at all. I'll look into laser treatments. I'll have to wait until my two kids finish college though 😂 😂 😂 One is in highschool and the other is almost halfway through college.
I have been dealing with red, sensitive skin that I also suspect is related to menopause (I’m 51). My skin seems to get more easily irritated in the last few years. I get marks or slight welts from even the slightest friction, for example after brushing out my hair I often develop red lines near my hairline where my brush “scratched” my face, or I will get marks on my neck from the friction of fastening a necklace. The marks always go away after a few minutes but it looks pretty bad initially!
I have redness in the area under my eyes / sides of my nose, almost a triangular shape. I’ve had it almost all my pubescent life and nothing seems to help, despite treating the area much more gently than the rest of my face
I still haven’t figured out all my rosacea triggers. But I noticed it became severe when I got pregnant and i was pretty much red all the time. It has really messed up my self esteem
I have had rosy cheeks since childhood. When i wake up in the morning its not as noticable just slight rosiness in the cheeks, but as the day goes on especially if its hot or if I'm active i get flushed all over the face especially my cheeks and neck but even my arms get a lighter redness. I used to never use sunscreen up until the past few years and im 37. My skin isn't raised or bumby. I have diabetes in my family but anytime I have had blood work its been normal. It looks like it may be sun damage on top of the fact that im a fair skinned Caucasian. I hate that the first thing people notice about me is my red skin. Always asking if I have a sun burn.
I’m pretty sure I have rosacea. I’ve been to dermatologist twice and used two different topical gel/acid. You mentioned laser treatment. Is that like a cure ? I’ve been dealing with this my whole life and it rips me from any confidence I have
My facial redness was caused by using skincare products, no matter how sensitive, minimal or 'dermatolgist approved'. Don't let dermatologists brainwash you into thinking you need products to fix your damaged skin barrier or irritated skin. If its red because it is irritated then try at least 12 months NO skincare products, yes this is how long it took my skin to go through moisturiser withdrawal and start to heal after 10 years of using products. It gave me rosacea, perioral dermatitis, sebhhoreic dermatitis and acne and left me suicidal because of the pain and confusion I was in. And every time i saw a dermatologist they would just tell me i needed to use more products. DON'T be brainwashed like I was! Dermatologists know less than they will ever like to admit. The cause of rosaces is still factually UNKNOWN, and likely to be due to all these chemicals people are now putting on their faces which never happened to this extent in history. Try using no products for a long time before expecting to see results. I hope this advice can reach people who are left suicidal due to incorrect dermatologist advice.
I experienced the same thing. My skin was alright but a bit dry so I decided to use a moisturizer. The next day my cheeks were irritated and red. I got to the dermatologist and got cortisone creams prescribed which I used in 7 days within 10 days with 3 days of taking a break. I stopped due to fear of side effects. The redness of my cheeks has become less but it’s still there. Sometimes I blush idk why and it gets worse. I have 2 irritated irritated areas where this happens. They also burn and itch and feel very uncomfortable. It’s been the 3rd day now that I’ve decided to not use anything on my face anymore. I will also try to not get the irritated area wet (no moisture treatment) as I’ve heard that it helps the skin to heal. Do you think my skin can heal too or can the damage be permanent ? Never ever would I have imagined that using a random moisturizer for one day would get me in this situation. It feels so uncomfortable.
@@Dan24. Hi sorry to hear about your experience but please know that YES your skin can heal in its own! I did quite literally 10 years of damage to my skin by using makeup and harsh cleansers to remove it for the first 5 years, then skincare products like moisturisers spfs & cleansers for the next 5 years. Like I say it started off as minor irritation like acne and redness/burning but slowly degraded over the years to the point where I developed perioral dermatitis, sebhorreic dermatitis (got prescribed a steroid cream for and used a few times which burned my skin), rosacea etc. all due to a severely damaged skin barrier, I actually don't think many people will have damaged their skin barrier more than mine. My experience with starting zero therapy aka putting nothing on it and only washing with water once a week and once every two weeks during winter was basically: -started in may - skin went quite dry but as it was summer & humid it was manageable -after 3 months it went super dry but then the skin shedded off and skin underneath was much smoother and better - if my skin had only sustained minor damaged it probably would have been healed at this point but... -winter months were brutal, my skin went so dry i could hardly stand it. I also developed small yellow patches of mild seb derm on my cheeks. but persevered -Now in spring, in the past two weeks my the patches of yellow seb derm have fallen off and the skin underneath looks healed. My flushing and burning has reduced massively. My perioral dermatitis red areas are barely red at all anymore and fading. My skin is beginning to rehydrate itself and feel more comfotable. For me zero therapy was a massive risk but I have now realised it CAN work. When I see further improvements I am looking to write articles on my experience. Considering you have done days/weeks worth of damage to your skin, not 10 years like me, please know your skin will heal much, much quicker than mine did. You might only have to go through 1-3 months of dry irritated skin and then the new layers of skin will come through. It all depends on how many layers of skin you damaged. The epidermis has 25-30cell layers and I will have damaged all of them. You may have only damaged 1-3 for example, therefore your skin will bounce back quicker. fyi it takes 30 days for one cell layer to renew. When you are doing zero therapy try and wash extremely minimally (1-2 times a week depending on how oily/dry your skin is), dont worry about temporary acne, I got it but mine healed just fine, stay out of the sun, wind and cold air. and most importantly do not interrupt the skins natural healing process by putting any creams/using cleansers. Please know your skin is an ever healing organ, and it will sort itself out, it'll just take time (weeks-months), but don't panic about the bad stages.
@@Melissa-xd7zf I’ve tried the no moisture treatment for a few days and it seemed to work. My skin was peeling off which was a sign of healing and the redness reduced aswell. However yesterday I decided to use a moisturizer again and it seems to have destroyed my progress. My skin got redder again and feels like it’s burning. I also worry that I might have caused damage by applying it to the areas where the skin was peeled off. I did research and apparently you aren’t supposed to touch skin that is peeling off. I’m now worried that I might have caused permanent damage 😔 I will try the no moisture treatment again from now on and never use a skin care product again. Do you think my situation might improve ?
@@Dan24. Hi don't worry I assure you it won't have caused permanent damage, even though it feels like it with the burning and redness because I have had exactly the same reaction to moisturisers. But I carried on applying these for years with this reaction and now even my skin is healing on its own, so don't worry the damage definitely wont be permanent. It's great that you were seeing some progress with zero therapy, and yes as I mentioned my skin went through many peeling stages. It became smoother after 3 months. That was when a dry skin layer peeled off and the skin underneath was much better. Good luck trying zero therapy again, it's very tempting to start applying a moisturiser but try your best to resist as if you apply it you will start the process from scratch, undoing the work you have done so far.
@@Melissa-xd7zfHi again! I wanted to give an update. So I tried no moisture therapy for quite some time. For maybe 2-3 weeks in total I didn’t wash my face not even with water. It definitely helped to get rid of the redness that was caused by contact dermatitis which is great. However it unfortunately turned my skin very greasy. Even now after stopping it and taking daily showers and washing my face again my face remains greasy which looks and feels very uncomfortable. My skin used to be dry and honestly it felt way more comfortable and looked better that way. No moisture therapy helped against contact dermatitis but caused a way bigger problem, one that I might never recover from 😔 Did you had to deal with the same and have any advice ? I would appreciate it a lot because I’m really stressed about all this 😢

Super interested in the connection between rosacea and migraines-does it have to do with disregulation off the blood vessels or nervous system? I’ve had chronic migraines since I was 5( I’m 43) and have been dealing with rosacea or something like it for the last few years.
Inflammation is inflammation. I know what vascular and ocular rosacea are all about. I've also got some irritant contact dermatitis. Finally officially diagnosed last year. I don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. I use only mineral sunBLOCK and no tightlining, waterlining or the frosty smudge in the tear duct corner. Powder color products, not creamy ones. Nothing waterproof. My triggers include angry driving, too much sun and too much smog. So what the heck am I doing in Southern California? Also fragranced detergents and soaps, not only on my face, body, and hair, but on laundry too. Stupid men! Wish I could figure out how to beat this one! I have rosacea and I know it’s triggered by taking hot baths before I go to bed at night but that’s also the only thing that relieves my stress at night. And I cannot change my hot baths or my sleep and mental health will suffer. I wish there was something I could do. Makeup doesn’t cover it up. Actually the act of touching or putting anything on my skin makes it redden as well. And it’s not chemical sensitivities. I mean the act of touching my face at all makes it red.😢
Wow, you nailed it - I walked to my counter, picked up the L.A. Looks hair gel I've been using for 15 years and on the back label; Methyl Isothiazolione.
Saw a dermatologist, felt she didn’t really address the issue, not sure if I have rosacea or just constant flushed face…..always red. She suggested vascular laser treatment. Most likely need 2-3. My face is also hot, especially when flushed. Does that sound like a good treatment?
Can people with Rosecea use a retinol or tretinoin? I am newly diagnosed with Rosecea. I have always used Tretinoin, but since Rosecea my face freaked out. I simplified my routine. I use Cerve cleanser and vanicream moisturizer as well as rosacare. But I am afraid of the tretinoin ..but I also have Melasma and milia and acne.
I would love if you can talk about the redness with a very swollen face, specially on one side but starting to happen on the other cheek too! It is very frustrating
Make sure that your home isn't too dry. My son had this and it was actually his sinus. Whole of one side (not the forehead) noticeably swollen. Once I got a couple of humidifiers and some nasal moisturizer sprays, it went down. I have to keep them running though, hoping spring will bring rain and moisture.

This Dr. is spitting pearls. I'm surprised she doesn't stress how much of what we put in our body matters.
I had IPL done years ago for sun damage from childhood, and oddly it took care of all my sensitivities and rosacea and eczema as well.
@@Chahlie Lasers should help both of you!
I have rosacea, so I always appreciate your redness videos. Thanks, Dr. Dray! 🌻
I have rosacea too
After over ten years of trying everything under the sun to help alleviate my redness, it turns out my "rosacea" and eczema, were caused by a severe nickel sensitivity. Sucks balls that it took me over a decade but thankfully both are under remission.
How did you have nickel sensitivity on the face? Or was this on the body?
Even though the redness isn’t totally gone, I’ve noticed that azelaic acid has helped a lot.
azelaic acid is your friend
At least redness is one thing I don't suffer with but I know several people that do. It's a frustrating condition for them. Thanks, as always for all you do to help people. Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a beautiful evening. 💟
I occasionally deal with facial redness, but I think it's from dryness. So much great info here, thanks Dr Dray. Happy Hump Day🌄
Yes I’ve been dealing with it this winter and I think it’s from the dryness
@@staceym4469 Winter is so hard on the hair and skin, more so than summer I think
I watched one of your videos that helped me 😊
I currently have contact dermatitis but it’s on my cheeks. Did you also have to deal with redness ? I fear that it will never go away 😔
@@Dan24. yes it was super red. Honestly less is more. Wash your face and apply moisturizer and don’t do anything else. Keep it very basic and wait for the skin to heal before trying any other products for redness. That would be my non doctor advice 😂
@@NG-68k Thank you for the advice! 👍
I’ve tried several products since the irritation.
I wish I didn’t have to deal with any of this 😔
@@Dan24. it took 6 months to completely go away 😩 but looked way better after a few months. I have suuuuper sensitive skin though
I think facial redness might have something to do with dehydration too.
Same question!
I have the same issue!!
I have the same issue and as I read this and pictured the issue, High blood pressure crossed my mind.

Ugh I've got post inflammatory erythema and it's slowly getting better with consistent use of sunscreen and soothing ingredients in my skincare.

Dr. Dray you look so amazing in that lovely cornflower blue ❤
💓
Do you mean mineral sunscreen should not degrade? I wonder is it because we sweat off
@@Banana11128
Yes I'm wondering why it's SPF value is only so long when a mineral should be more stable than an organic chemical.
But I haven't had the time to do the research on this.

Happy Wednesday Dr. Dray!
Same to you!
Asked my dermatologist about mine just yesterday. His sense is that in my case it’s a symptom of menopause.
You are amazing . Thank You. I have had melanoma twice. That last was stage 4 metasized. I will be following you. Hello from Canada.
Me too
❤awesome thank you for this video. I deal with facial redness.
My experience with starting zero therapy aka putting nothing on it and only washing with water once a week and once every two weeks during winter was basically:
-started in may - skin went quite dry but as it was summer & humid it was manageable
-after 3 months it went super dry but then the skin shedded off and skin underneath was much smoother and better - if my skin had only sustained minor damaged it probably would have been healed at this point but...
-winter months were brutal, my skin went so dry i could hardly stand it. I also developed small yellow patches of mild seb derm on my cheeks. but persevered
-Now in spring, in the past two weeks my the patches of yellow seb derm have fallen off and the skin underneath looks healed.
I’m now worried that I might have caused permanent damage 😔
I will try the no moisture treatment again from now on and never use a skin care product again.
No moisture therapy helped against contact dermatitis but caused a way bigger problem, one that I might never recover from 😔
Did you had to deal with the same and have any advice ? I would appreciate it a lot because I’m really stressed about all this 😢

Super interested in the connection between rosacea and migraines-does it have to do with disregulation off the blood vessels or nervous system? I’ve had chronic migraines since I was 5( I’m 43) and have been dealing with rosacea or something like it for the last few years.
Me too. Migraines and rosacea.
Does anyone get red in the face when stressing, or being in a social environment? Any tips?
I have PIE bad. Finally decided to go see a derm office to have them look at my skin and hopefully address it more quickly. Very frustrating
Gut imbalances is root to all skin conditions. Doctors should get on board with gut to skin connection. Probiotics and prebiotic foods, consistently
That’s not true. Be careful using “all”.
It’s amazing how much the intestines are responsible for, besides the obvious. Ironically, the ancient Greeks attributed a lot of emotion to the gut!
The migraines one...I can't believe it, but this may be why my face gets randomly red. Ears too!
Hi doctor. Thanks for sharing this. I have a question, can thyroid nodules cause facial flushing?
I would like to know this as well
So informative ❤
Wow, you nailed it - I walked to my counter, picked up the L.A. Looks hair gel I've been using for 15 years and on the back label; Methyl Isothiazolione.
8:30 keep your routine simple. use fragrance-free, mild products
I learned today my love of sugar shows in my face, i probably have skin damage too, and probably have reaction to products I use.
I read that stopping the consumption of dairy can help w migraines (Dr Neal Barnard)
Saw a dermatologist, felt she didn’t really address the issue, not sure if I have rosacea or just constant flushed face…..always red. She suggested vascular laser treatment. Most likely need 2-3. My face is also hot, especially when flushed. Does that sound like a good treatment?
Can overuse of adapalene cause redness, irritation, & damage to the skin barrier?
Can people with Rosecea use a retinol or tretinoin? I am newly diagnosed with Rosecea. I have always used Tretinoin, but since Rosecea my face freaked out. I simplified my routine. I use Cerve cleanser and vanicream moisturizer as well as rosacare. But I am afraid of the tretinoin ..but I also have Melasma and milia and acne.
See her video, how to use retinol if you have sensitive skin.
I would love if you can talk about the redness with a very swollen face, specially on one side but starting to happen on the other cheek too! It is very frustrating
I have had facial rashes and one side with swelling. Now it's on both sides. Very frustrating for me as well.
This video was made for me! Lol Happy Wednesday Dr Dray :)
