Being that I have zero mechanical/handy skills, I watched this video A LOt before attempting to take apart my TB200. I followed everything step by step, started up the first pull! Thanks so much for the post. It’s given me the confidence to tackle other projects in the future.
Nice!
They don't call or youtube university for no reason
Thank you so much for such a informational video i got a free mower cause someone didnt want to mess with it i followed video and started first pull now i have a troy bilt mower for free
You are a life-saver, man. I cleaned out the jet, but when I was putting it back on, the spring popped off. I had no idea how it attatched to the other side. I searched and searched on the internet and couldn't find anything. You were the first person with a video that I found, that removed the carb and when you held it up, I was able to put it back on!!! I give you mad props for being able to do this one handed! And wanted to let you know that my mother-in-law thanks you!
Thank you! A friend gave me a mower cause it would not start, and he has hired a lawn service. Mower been sitting for 2 years with a little old gas in the tank. I installed new spark plug, air filter, and topped the tank with some good gas from a quart container I purchased at a big box store. Nothing. Followed your video to the Tee, filled tank with fresh fuel, started on 2nd pull. I did not get the gold test acid, yet, but I did clean everything with carb spray and compressed air. Thanks again for your excellent and informative video! :) :)
Now, if I can just get this old gas smell off me!! ;)
@@MagaRickn right!
I have watched ever single video on RUclips about how to service this carb. None of them showed taking the float off and putting it back on. None of them mentioned anything about those big O rings. If I only had come across YOUR video first. Each OTHER of the videos said to pull the pin out of the float and don't pry on it. Every video said to put the float in place and slide the pin through, so thats what I did. Yes. Mine was one of the ones that had gas running out of the carb. Nobody else's video mentioned that. I didn't discover it, until I cut the grass and put the mower away. The mower was hard starting and I couldn't figure out why. This is the FIRST time I decided to (attempt) messing with any carb. I F'ed one up when I was 17 and never touched another carb since. I am 66 now. Your video by far was the best one on RUclips to date 7/4/21. I have a 10hp Honda motor on a powerwasher I have to do the same thing to. I hope to find a video on your channel that goes into disassembly and cleaning a carb on a Honda motor. Thank you for this video. I was so discouraged after mine started pouring gas out of the carb. Tomorrow, I am going to click my float pin in place and have a fkg party.
sounds like the pin isnt all the way in. what is the model of the honda? i have a video.
Practically new but dead mower brought back to life thanks to this clear and detailed guidance. Thanks!!!
nice!
i give you credit for putting the carburetor throttle cables back with one hand, thats pure experience haha
i watched a youtube video once lol!
This video was awesome. I know it's been a while since you made it, but wanted to say thanks! Tore into my first carburetor with your help, and the details were fantastic. It gave me so much trouble I was ready to buy a new mower... Then it started right up on the 2nd pull after this!! God bless you sir!
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much.
My grandpa made call to service lawn mower. Bruh cost him 180 dollars. Tune up and cleaning carburetor.
So I walk him through and fix my lawn blower watching your video .
And saw another senior veterans paid 500 bucks.
This cold world we live in.
yeah its crazy what other shops charge but people pay it. i charge 80 for this job
@@smallengineguys that’s great deal. Thanks for being honest .
Big thx to you man. I usually break anything I try to fix more then it already was, but surprisingly I followed your instructions and cured my surging engine and it’s running much better now.
Probably the best video of it's sort I've ever watched. I followed it to the letter & mower probably runs better than it ever has. Thanks
Nice! Great feeling right!?!
Had the very same dilemma and your instructions were spot on! Fired right up with barely a pull. Thank you sir. 😊
Glad it helped
Great video. I had never done this before. I followed your instructions and it started right up! Although, I didn't have the acid, I used carb cleaner.
Thank you so much. Craftsman uses this model engine on their mowers, found nothing on it for a week. Dropped the mower brand and model from the search, looked up the engine model alone and found your video. Youve made my neighbour very happy to have her lawnmower alive again.
Glad I could help
Where did you find the engine model on this mower? I can't find it anywhere.

you are my hero! this mower has been out of service for over a year. now it works like new!
nice!
Your video saved my mower!! Thanks man! 🫡
Glad I could help!
I followed the steps and it worked perfectly! I just used carb cleaner because I didn’t find the acid right away. Still, after cleaning, the mower started on the first pull. Very happy. Thanks!
glad i could help
Thank you for the video. It helped me get my lawnmower working in an hour
Glad it helped
Awesome video. For a $15 new carb you saved me the cost of a new mower!
Glad I could help!
Just as you said, the root of my problem was a gunky jet. After giving it a good cleaning, fresh oil, and air filter. My mower started up on the 1st pull, and ran super smooth. Thanks.
Your welcome!
Excellent video took my mower from zero to hero! Started with ONE PULL after watching your fantastic step-by-step tutorial. You have earned a new subscriber Sir!
Nice work! glad to have you.
Followed instructions exactly. Worked like a charm!!!
You sir are a genius!
Fantastic video, easy to follow and very detailed - no idea how you were able to do the whole job with only one hand! Thanks for posting it.
Glad it was helpful! been doing this since i was 4 in my dads shop. I'm 48 now.
Followed this video step-by-step… Awesome instructions and my mower works perfect now. Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
This solved my problem. Thank you.
Excellent video tutorial. I followed your steps nearly to the point, except for the acid drops. I inserted the end of a fishing leader into the jet openings back and forth, followed by brake cleaner flush and compressed air. After reassembly it starts on first pull. Thank you greatly!!
nice with the fishing leader wire never thought of that. i use old lawnmower gables insides. i just unthread 1 wire.
Great step by step video. The mower is up and running again! Thanks
You bet
Really good, easy to follow video.
I need to do this soon, and had no idea the inner jets and parts would be plastic.
Thanks for the walk through.
All the best, take care!
You are welcome!
EXCELLENT REPAIR SERVICE VIDEO 👍
Dude … your video helped get my mower going! Thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to make this video
My pleasure!
Thanks a lot. Super helpful.

Thank you for your video!!!
You save like $150 bucks!!!

Glad I could help!
Thanks! Just what I was looking for. Son gave me his Snapper SP push mower that had sat in the weather for several years. After cleaning and repairing all that I could it would only start with starting fluid, which was enough to mow the yard, but it had very mild surging. I couldn’t figure out how to remove the carb and would never have guessed that it was attached to the block with a friction fit.
Edit: I cleaned the carb last night as you showed but used spray carb cleaner and a fine wire. The engine started on the first pull every time. Thank you!!!
What is the purpose of the hose that is attached to the breather above the carb? It looks like a PCV hose on a vehicle engine.
Thank u so much man. Mine fired up with one light pull 🤙🏼
Glad I could help
Great video ! Just watched and cleaned the Carb. Saved money love this stuff followed all your steps ! Thanks ! A Texan USA 🇺🇸
Glad I could help
Thanks!
Worked on my mower that was sitting for 2 years 👍
nice!
Thanks so much, I really appreciated your video. Made the task super easy. Thanks again!
You're welcome!
Great video but alas my TB200 won't start after a carb clean, new sparkplug and fresh gas. I dont have the acod but use carb cleaner wires and carb spray to clean out the holes. Now what I wonder? Ran fine 6wks ago.
This worked, thanks!
You're welcome!
Great, video good instructions I have a question I did everting like you bud no luck mower turns over but no starting eny idea, tanks?
spark?
great video thank u runs now!
how many times I have to push the big red primer?

Thanks, this video helped me a ton!
Glad it helped!
When you say “rinse”, do you mean with water or cleaner? If water, obviously it needs to dry all the way before assembling, correct?
Water is your enemy. Cleaner only.
I found this video very helpful my mower got this same procedure and runs like a champ but it seem to rev too high I tried to adjust the tab holding the spring of the governator but it seems to have no effect on the engine speed it just keeps running high, any ideas on how to fix this issue I would much appreciate, thanks.
sounds like you either forgot to hook the throttle arm up or its frozen you may need to take bake off spray with oil and move back and forth.
Great video, but I do have to point out a whole new carburetor is like $15 on Amazon.
I’m going to get one of those new and clean up the old one as a spare.
yep but sometimes you just need to get the lawn done and cant wait a couple days. also more like 30 but whos counting
This helped me out big time thanks.
Glad it helped
I have the same mower with the same problem. I removed the carb and took it apart and cleaned all the parts and then assembled it and installed it. Mower still won't start. I used some starting fluid and it started on the first pull but only ran until all the starting fluid was used up. The fact that it will start tells me I can eliminate the spark plug, wiring and magnito. Since it takes spark and fuel to make an engine run the problem must be on the fuel side. I had emptied the fuel tank of all the old gas and added new gas, so it is not a gas problem. Must still be a problem with the carb. Do you have any ideas what to try next?
do carb again clean tank again use new bought today gas in a clean empty container. in short it is a fuel issue.
Great video thanks but what is the little bottle of acid you used to clear the small hole thanks

HEY I GOT A SNAPPER WITH THE 6.25EX BRIGGS I JUST PUT A NEW CARBURETOR ON IT AND I MADE SURE THE GOV. WASNT JAMMED OR TOUCHING THE TANK SAME WITH THE THROTTLE CABLE PLUG LOOKS FINE BUT 2 THINGS FIRST IT DOSNT START ON FIRST TRY I HAVE TO SPRAY A LITTLE CARB CLEANER OR GAS IN THE CARBURETOR AND THEN IT STARTS BUT SLUGGISH THATS ON A COLD START ONCE ITS STARTED IT WILL START ON A PULL BUT ITS SURGES AS WELL CAN YOU RECOMEND SOMETHING OH AND ITS A NEW AIR FILTER TOO
oring between the carb and engine needs to be reinstalled in the carb before you reinstall carb on the motor.
Outstanding instructional. I'm sure you just like to rub it in that you can do all that with one hand. I watched this and planned on replacing my carburetor entirely. I ordered it but before I could install it the mower started leaking gas from the air filter. What is the biggest suspect for that problem?
carb
@@smallengineguys Thank you. I just dropped it off to a small engine guy. Guess I should have given it a shot myself. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Had the carburetor replaced and a tuneup performed. Running great now. You were absolutely correct. Thanks
Great Video. Question??? I seen you put o ring in carb then plastic piece over it. Does another o ring say in the frame where the carb goes?? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks..
No just the one in the carb
@@smallengineguys thanks alot..great video..
ok i just got in my new carb in today that i ordered,#592361,the carb had the 0 ring and white keeper already on it.i had a loose o ring in the bag that it came in. Is that a extra o ring?? thanks and i'm sorry to bother you.
yes an extra
Excellent job
Thank you very much!
I have a problem with my tb200 surging tired of pulling it apart and putting it back together again just to have it do the same thing.
gasket between carb and engine may be leaking. make sure its installed onto the carb before you put carb back on. also change your plug.
and brand new bought today gas is important.
Cleaned the carb and still won't start. Wondering if my linkages are not working correctly. Any chance you can post a video of what linkages are supposed to move when the red handle is depressed
follow the cable. the other end moves
Good work, friend. Is there anything comparable to the acid to do the same thing?
muriotic but just a drop and rinse. super way to strong
Watt is the shining , look like a washer inside the carburetor? My fall out and I don't now where
it goes.

The cap? No hole right? No biggy throw in trash your fine.
Does the acid cleaner harm the O - Rings or plastic? Thank you
No
@@smallengineguys thank you
Awesomeness!
Thank you!
Great video but next time use a Go-Pro video so you can stay focus on screen and use two hands. I've replaced everything but haven't tackled the carburetor yet....
early video. i wasnt as good at videoing back then.
Great video! I replaced my neighbors carburetor as it was acting like it was starving for gas. Had to spray starting fluid in to start. Well new carburetor did not solve the problem. Do you have any suggestions as what could be causing it. I could not find a fuel filter unless it is inside the gas tank.
so the fuel filter is built in the tank. its a metal screen. completely drain tank blow threw fuel line with air blow out tank with air put in brand new bought today gas. gas is only good in small amounts for about 3 weeks.
@@smallengineguys ok thank you I will get some fresh gas and blow out the line/tank.
@@cortevillec it'll take a min to burn off what's in the carb unless you clean it again. I strongly suggest you do clean it again.
I just did this and now my mower idles very low. Thoughts? Could I have bent a linkage?
oorrr you forgot to hook the throttle back on the carb. lol it happens.
Question what exact kind of acid did you use and where to find
acid
amzn.to/3ezpx0z
Question: I have taken apart my carb and cleaned everything twice. A few years ago it worked fine. Did it again this year, mower ran great. A week later, it fires right up but shut off after 5-10 mins. Now it sounds like it's about to fire but does. Thoughts?
CARB. GAS IS ONLY GOOD FOR 3 WEEKS IN THESE MOTORS.
@@smallengineguys thanks. It was new engineered fuel. I'm thinking maybe there was some old gunk in the fuel tank that came loose. I appreciate the help
happens. you just gotta do it again. happens all the time to me
Ok, thanks. I will give it another try this weekend.
Hi there, I followed the steps to clean carburetor but mower still won't start. The machine only has one use since I first purchased but it sat a while with gas in it. Could it be the spark plug? Please help, thank you!
Plug is probably wet. Also make sure your not overfilled with oil. When you take plug out pull engine over 30 times to dry cylinder. You may need to repeat this many times. Check spark and compression. Squirt carb cleaner in carb does it start and shutoff?.
@@smallengineguys thank you for replying. Yes, as as it is being started I squirt carburetor cleaner and it start but shuts off. Makes big black cloud of smoke.
@@marthaisaza4698 black smoke is rich. To much fuel. Could be a carb issue still . You may need a new carb. Make sure your not overfull on oil as well.
What was the concern that determined it was the carb? My mower starts, but sometimes it stalls when it's over heavy grass and it turns over, but it turns insanely slow, probably firing at the same rate as a heartbeat, then eventually it gets in gear and runs. Would that be a carb problem? Fuel starvation perhaps?
could be. have you checked your air filter made sure it isnt clogged? did it always have this issue?
@@smallengineguys air filter is new, replaced the spark plug, has good compression. Started last spring, had the mower for 8 years, only maintenance I've done is oil changes every season
carb
Thank you! Cleaned it out per video instructions, and it starts so easy I could use my big toe. I bought carb cleaner from AutoZone because I don't like buying stuff online and it seemed to have worked as intended. I appreciate you.
Hi Sir. Great video for sure and thank you for posting. My engine takes many tries to start (10 - 15 pulls). Is this the problem of my engine? I've replaced the spark plug already. I also notice oil build-up on the air filter. Thank you.
ok so probably your issue. first make sure oil is at the proper full not over the second line not to little. then open air filter and remove. give a little squirt of crake clean in the carb. does it start easier? if so it is a fuel issue. also is gas new? old gas is harder to get to fire. gas is good for 3 weeks max then it gets harder to run in small equipment. doing the carb is a good practice when a machine is running funny regardless. it is 95 percent of what i do in the shop.
@@smallengineguys Thank you much. I've checked the oil level and it is not over the line. Next time I start the engine I will try your suggestion with carb cleaner. Thank you so much for the reply.
Oh also..forgot to add..gasoline is new.
good yeah probably just a carb cleaning
Thank you for another amazing video! I have learned so much from your videos. I do have a question about this exact mower. What could be the cause of it running erratic or rough when first started but smooths out once its warm? I did clean the carb and istakked a new spark plug and air filter. Thanks again for all you do for us newbies appreciate you buddy.
choke sticking in the on position for to long
I have the exact opposite problem it runs fine till warm then surges almost till it dies and revs back up
My tb200 625ex is backfiring and lagging like it wants to shut-off
Does it pull back on the rope when starting? If yes flywheel key. Easy fix. If no exhaust valve. Not easy fix at all.
Thank you so much for this video!!
I really hate asking such a dumb question, but....After cleaning with the acid and then flushing with the brake clean, you say you rinse it out and mention rinsing the other parts. What are you rinsing everything with?
Thank you so much for your time, and thank you for such an awesome video! Also, I'm laughing and loving how you explain what to do if you get acid or brake clean in your eyes. Makes the video go from great to perfect. 🤣 ❤
Just rinse everything out with the brake clean. Had a kid get some brake clean in his eye he started panicking thrashed his head back and forth headbutted a steal pole knocked him out cold. So i try to explain it to everyone now lol
@@smallengineguys Thank you so much!! Thanks to your step by step video, I (a 33 yr old mom) was able to take our non working pushmower apart and cleaned the carb on my own! (I also changed the oil and spark plug) Well, I had "help" and supervision from one of our nosey chickens, too bad I can't post pics in comments. 🤣 Also for viewers like me, stabbing the bolts thru a styrofoam plate allows you to label where each one came from so no bowl or piles of bolts trying to figure out which ones go where, but carb cleaner and gasoline, well, they don't play well with styrofoam plates. 🤣
And guess what?! It didn't leak gas when I put it back together, and even more surprising.....IT STARTED!! On the very first pull!!! You have no idea how excited and happy I am that I was able to do that, all thanks to your video. Thank you!
Oh. Also. I'm thankful for the heads up on brake clean in the eye. It's a LOT easier to do than I realized. 🤦♀️🤣 But all's well that ends well and I have a running push mower now!! ❤
I have the exact same mower in the video and these comments lead me to believe the problem with my mower stems from the carb. However, it seems I am evaporating fuel somewhere. I will fill the tank all the way, cut grass, then come back in a week and the tank will be empty. Is this a carb issue?
could be leaking fuel into the cylinder and evaporating out the muffler. id try cleaning carb and paying close attention to the needle valve
@@smallengineguys FYI this carb model you have in the description is not the correct one for me. Mine has a different part number on the side.
@@smallengineguys cleaned carb twice and it is still leaking gas out of carb and continues to overheat. Any ideas?
@@Mike-mu4cv needle valve or float bad. Time for new carb.
@@smallengineguys Thought you might say that. Carbs are on backorder for this. Should I just try replacing the needle valve in the interim?
What if u don’t have the acid, will carb cleaner or brake cleaner clean the jets?
