This may be the best 'how-to' repair video I've seen. Solid, friendly advice with a good pace, excellent close-ups, and simple steps. It includes re-assembly details and gotchas that others often gloss over. I followed step-by-step, pausing the video as I went. The only issue in my repair was due to my ignorance. I sent the lawnmower blade out for sharpening and tried to start the mower without it. OUCH! The kickback from the pull cord almost yanked my hand off my arm at the wrist! Apparently, this motor uses the blade as flywheel weight and kicks back with a vengeance without it. Thanks again for the quality video!

Absolutely one of the best most detailed how to videos I’ve seen. Attention to detail and clear and concise instructions. I’ve cleaned numerous dirt bikes, and quad carburetors over the years but never a plastic one. You made it very easy to take care of my problem. I have a Husqvarna 3100 power washer which was made by Briggs & Stratton that wouldn’t start and I’ve heard that you just throw the plastic carburetors away and buy a new one. Not the case. Thanks for all your help.

I bought a Snapper mower from Walmart it has the B&S 725EXI engine. I used it one whole season, then emptied the gas tank and put it away for winter. Got it out the following spring , filled it with gas, pulled on the cord and it would NOT start. Replaced the spark plug then the air filter. STILL NO DICE. Threw my hands up in the air and put it back in the garage, used the old mower I had on stand by since I knew it worked. Flash forward 3 seasons I see this video and the one about the choke system design flaw, I drag out the mower and apply everything you have in these two videos, pull on the cord and away she goes like a champ!!! DUDE!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world. I was already going to wheel it out to alley for spring cleaning, NOW I can use it till the cows come home.

    Want to say thank you.
My Snapper mower with this B&S engine would not perform. Followed the tutorial and the filing down of the lever for the choke fixed everything. Followed what the video said - removed the tank and carburetor. Cleaned everything with carburetor cleaner and blew out everything with my compressor. The mower runs like it is brand new again.
I want to thank you for an easy to follow video for cleaner the carburetor.
    Thank you.

My Troy Built mower with the same Briggs and Stratton engine/carburetor wouldn't start after sitting all winter. I've never messed with small engines or carburetors, but I found this video and it seemed easy enough. Followed it exactly, took apart the carb, cleaned up the fuel tank and fuel line - which is where the problem was. My screen at the bottom of the fuel tank was gunked up with old gas and when filled with water nothing flowed out. Anyways, learned a lot from this video and it solved my problem and saved me a bunch of money too. Thanks!

I fallowed this video step by step (drained but did not remove tank) and the lawnmower is running better than new. I recommend watching the video right to the end first, then go back and go step by step. It was very helpful putting it back together. A few things to look out for. Loved this video. Great video! One thing to be wary of when using compressed air to clean the white main jet cassette is that it is possible to dislodge the other brass jet insert. From the detailed, thorough step-by-step explanation to the excellent camera work, one of the best videos I've seen! Thanks for your time and effort! I hope this helps me out! I'm working on a lawnmower that inadvertently had gas poured into the oil spout, and then run for a while. I've changed the oil twice, and it is up and running. Gas is getting into the piston after it sits for a while, however, and also leaks out of the carb inlet right behind the air filter. May be the rings, but a good carb cleaning is a small first step!

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 года назад

Leaking Needle valve causes fuel to flood from the carb into the intake, which goes into the cylinder and past the piston rings to dilute the oil. Common issue. Replace the needle valve and change the oil twice.

Thank you for this amazing video. It gave me confident to open and clean my machine and its running now.
There was two places I got stuck but was able to resolve it.
    1. Opening cover at 2:22 mark - The Torque screw: I could not figure out the screw type as my mower has dust in it but listening to your video again and again then picked up whats a Torque screw. That helped.
    2. When I take off Float and needle valve at 7: 15 - The needle valve was in the cup and I did not know where that came from. figure out by the shape and put that point part in and the intend part in the top where there is a space to put that in.

Excellent vid bro...the only thing I would suggest to everyone is to not use a flat head to pry out that white plastic jet as it can damage the plastic around it and the seal as stated. You can push from the inside of the cab where the distribution tube comes up, then u can gently remove from the under..that hole where you push that tube down must be lined up before re installation...
    Lovely detailed vid bro!

@@EliminatorPerformance I couldn't agree more about this detailed instruction video being thorough & complete. Great job and thank you! However, once I finished cleaning the parts well & dried I had an issue while re-assembling the carburetor, specifically the small bowl drain plug & that small O - Ring that seats inside the bowl drain plug. I found out the hard way how it can get pinched & rip when turning the plug with the hex tool. I used 3in1 Oil on the O - Ring, but it was a little stretched/worn & didn't want to sink into the groove when attempting the 1/4 turn required for it to seal properly & the little tabs on the plug that grip the tabs of the inside end of the hole cracked, rendering the plug itself useless as well as it's o-ring. The rest of the carburator went back together like new with no problem sealing the bowl, the jets cartridge, floater, needle, etc...
The only issue is the plug & o-ring. I see replacement #'s for the entire Carburetor or Jet cartridge that you've left here in the description but can I just get the bowl plug & small o-ring replaced, as opposed to replacing the entire Carburetor & do you have the parts #'s for only that so that I can order them, please? I would appreciate it greatly!!! Again your videos are easily the best on RUclips, hands down. Please reply

I always advise against the tipping method, as the fuel can drain into the engine if you tip to the opposite side.
And the oil can drain into carb if you tip to carb side.
So it's really important to drain fuel, then tip for draining oil.
      Thanks for watching!

Great advice. I always tipped my lawnmower to get it to run and didn't know its not advised. Thanks

ALWAYS like your videos. Crisp, clean, great video sound, but mostly to the point. No fluff and B.S. With that said, one question. Why didn't you slowdown or clean the area before working on the carb??🤔

Cleaned it before putting the carb back on, Thanks for watching!

@@EliminatorPerformance sorry, it should have said "blowdown". Yes it saw you clean before reinstalling. Just thought it odd, not before detaching the carb. Keep up the great videos!!💥 I've been referring others to your channel. Thanks. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE.✌🤘🖖

This is my problem. I have spark but it won't start. I took the carb off but never went into the detail like in this video. I like this video because it is so detailed. Going to take it off again and check it out better. Probably why I'm not getting a wet spark plug.

    Fixed my mower
Put it all back together and it starts up on the first pull
Works like it did when I first bought it

Great video, I reassembled and started it up right away! Only one issue though, fuel ends up coming out of air filter after use, not sure what’s wrong?

Check to make sure the needle valve is sealing properly, and check your oil too, make sure no fuel went into the engine!

Great video! Would the build-up shown cause a mower that starts great... repeatedly stall during use?

Thx for the great videos. Nicely explained and very fluent. Thx again. I have exactly same mower. Is it possible to make a video on the front drive assembly please? Thx

I just film things on customers mowers that come into the shop. If I get one that needs a drive fixed I'll film it, thanks for the kind words!
