Lemme show you a little trick I learned
its easy. its called an aerial revert. stick down and full rudder, then pull up and full counterrudder with full flaps and brakes along with around 12% throttle. works on only a few aircraft

Evasive manoeuvres are mostly useless in arcade
Using keys to control your pitch, yaw, roll is highly impractical since the game tries to put your plane at horizontal all the time, but they offer more strenght when used with the mouse aim.
Oh, and just don't head-on, as much as possible. It's bad and risky, even if you shoot down the enemy, there's a risk that you collide with its wreckage. The only planes against which you should head-on are some bombers (obviously, not the B-25), because that's where their defense is weaker.

Your correction of the maneuvers are right, i can't believe Gaijin mixed this up like Star fox...
However the maneuvers shown in this video does help, there not useless, and into very skilled pilot a best strategy.
I said mostly because indeed, they can help, but a beginner won't be able to use them effectivly. In arcade, flight model make it very easy to follow manoeuvres - BnZ for exemple is kinda hard, because some planes can just follow you on your zoom, even if you gathered some speed in the dive. For the same reason, it's really easy to aim where you want in arcade, so maoeuvres like a barrel roll won't save you that often. Once again, it can, a few times, but they really start to begin usefull in RB, where aircrafts have very distinct performance.

I would advice against it tbh. It sure has a pretty good firepower, but it also has a very big canopy, which means it's extremely easy to shoot the pilot down :/
Head-Ons are an inevitability
Immelemen is a good energy conservation maneuver if you have to turn around as you are trading energy for altitude and can get back some of that energy by diving.
The barrel roll you performed is actually an alien roll, the canopy roll is a barrel roll.

No, that's not a barrel roll. It's an aileron roll. They're two different things.
Kind of like a cinnamon roll and a sushi roll are two different things. They're both called "rolls", but... well, you get the idea.
That is all.
I don't use ctrl and shift for elevation, I use W and S. Ctrl and Shift are my throttle... It's the advanced control setup that is programmed into War Thunder, and in combination with the mouse, it works well. Or, if you play sim, use a joystick...

The planes in the video did an aileron roll. Barrel rolls use the rudder and elevators in addition to the ailerons; not just roll surfaces

Aileron roll is just using ailerons.
Barrel roll is also pitching up as you roll.
In war thunder, to preform a SNAP roll, you need to roll and yaw in the same direction, as well as pitching up. It's basically a very fast barrel roll that is actually very unstable..

Mainly all of this balle lessons with the aircraft is only done with a spitfire
w&s for pitch, a&d for roll, q&e for yaw, and left shift is throttle up, left control is throttle down, all controls are easy access and left hand

Ive seen a lot of people do the hammerhead with an strike fighter in arcade.
I keep Shift-Ctrl for thrust, and use WSADQE for all controls
Recently mangeged to get air target kills in a stuka that's a great feeling
In a different air game there's no way to dogfight without the roll button, but I still can manage a canopy roll just fine
I've done some stalling manovers with my Fw190 D9

When your pilot is injured, try doing this both High n Low G manuver is dangerous. Pilot might black out.

"Roll is not very affective" Roll rate can help you dodge bullets in RB if you're plane has a good rate. Esp the Sabre

You can add Pugachev's Cobra move as well. I have tried it at close combat ( less than 450m) and its really effective.

In turn fighting, my teacher was said "the one who worries about the ground first, will be the first one to meet it" basically if your enemy breaks the turn because you can weave through trees, and they can't, they're as good as dead.
I sometimes hold at the same time S and A/D and when on Arcade, I set the power of engine on 0%.

Watch the plane tutorial on the War Thunder website to probally get better at moving you're plane.

What happens if you do a fool and your enemy does the exact same thing? That's what always happens with me especially with more than one plane on my tail
Leon Riley If you have more than one plane on your tail, you're probably too far into enemy lines, or you rushed into a group of them. My suggestion as it does happen, though, is you should try to get to your allies without being shot down. Never engage more than one enemy alone unless you're 100% sure you can kill all of them.

Bullshit, if you have the energy advantage, exploit it. Don't get slow and vulnerable when you don't need to, even if you have an advantage in turn rate.

Why would you use shift and CTRL for your pitch controle. UseW and S feel much better and works much easier.
But that's your throttle control......

somebody please help me!!! after the newest update i am unable to move my cursor under the height of the research button. i cannot go all the way down only in the warthunder screen.i can on a normal screen. how can i solve this? i can move my cursor evrywhere on the main menu with yur plane and such. but i cannot go with my mouse to the bottom of the screen. i can see the whole menu. but i am unable to go all the way to the bottom of it. so i cannot switch country or plane.

i changed it to true fullscreen and now it works. seems to be a little issue with fullscreen window and window.
