The "loop the loop" can actually be extremely useful in combat. During a neutral pass, both lanes typically bank until they are head on again and repeat this jousting until you crash or kill them. While during a neutral pass pull a long "loop the loop" so they get ahead of you during your manuver and can to get the pure pursuit or vantage point.

Something that can really help, is to roll over like making a turn, than pitch the nose down in your planes perspective. When the enemy sees you roll over, he expects you to pull the stick and compete the turn. But when you push the stick, his sights are trained on the wrong side of your plane, missing his shots and leaving him moving in the wrong direction
On thing about the loop I learned the hard way. You end up lower than when you begin, depends on what vehicle, but I was flying at 30 meters above the sea in one of the American planes and did a loop. I ended about 30 meters lower than when I begun, quite a bit slower, my pilot wasn't happy and neither was the USAAF or my team
When vastly outnumbered and out gunned, do continuous canopy rolls and let them try to hit u while u drag them down to the deck making easy targets for ur teammates
insted of sitting still and letting them get close its better to do a knife edge and sturn one dirsction and the roll and pull the other way so your not a sitting target
Zig zag and fake a scissor fight by reducing to 40% thrust and force an overshoot or pull away with 100% thrust as soon as u get him in a out of plane manoeuvre. Gets them everytime but only works if nobody else is waiting like a freaking vulture
In simulator battles, these maneuvers work really well. But that's cause it's a lot harder to put bullets into the target so dogfights can last a lot longer, allowing you the time to pull off these maneuvers.
3:10 Incorrect about the loop, you actually need to cut the throttle in order to not blow up your engine on the way down, update 1.55 for the win, because it brings in temperature control for the engine, hence thermodynamics, you may need to let your plane gain speed a little bit, before you can increase the throttle. A loop is done when you go into the vertical, you are required to cut your throttle after exiting the loop on the way down, press the s (or whatever key you set for your pitch) key or pull on the stick, then at the top of the loop, cut your throttle for the way out of the loop, then once you are about 80% level, GET THE F*** OUT OF THERE, firewall the throttle until your at WEP (Afterburner for modern Jets, War Emergency Power for props.)
I also have a maneuver for a head-on attack: when your opponent comes at you go beneath them, make them overshoot then do a half loop and level the aircraft by going left or right, now they will go left or right follow them, but if your aim is behind them, then I’d a half loop again. Get behind them aim and go to town. I hope this tip is a good one.
For a maneuver to be effective you need to stay alive long enough to kill your opponent and not get nail mid-maneuver by someone else. Hammerheads in battle with other bandits around == certain death.
A trick I learned from watching the history channel, that woks, is to turn into your enemy, it reduces the engagement time, and is harder for them to get on your six.
Split S is one of the most useful maneuvers that beginners especially should know. Also, if the opponent you're sneaking up on does a split, DO NOT FOLLOW unless you're a Zero! Instead, go into a climb to preserve the energy before turning down on him again.
@@shrekrecker no , not even kidding I watched the whole dang video and was all into it . Then I ran into this comment and felt the face palm . I couldn't believe I missed the glaring whoops through the whole video .
For the people in strike aircraft dealing with multiple opposing pilots, do this. Pretend that your on a track field. Start that maneuver of an oval, and once the pilots have been separated, take a shot whenever you can, and then turn back around. Due to common logic of piloting experts War Thunder, they will eventually crash into each other. After that, just fly away and do whatever you want.
In my experience rollovers are a death sentence. Unless you have significantly more speed, you’re tail is just going to get close to a slow and predictable target.
pro tip: get out of your chair, turn around 3 times, blink 2 times, sit back down, and hold j for 3 seconds while closing your eyes. Works well in a dogfight
The only thing that an aileron roll is useful for when it isnt combined with anything: Avoid crashing into an enemy vehicle after you killed it head-on. Works half of the time. the other time the destroyed plane will become whatever country's Sonderkommando Elbe. Bonus Aerobatic maneuver: *grab ye bf109 and ram it into whatever bomber you see.*
Loops are not just for show. You can use a series of loops to gain an energy advantage against a heavier opponent, or to bait an enemy for a teammate. If you get enough of an energy advantage, you can transition into an immelman or a hammerhead to stall them out and get on their tail.
never could get behind controller on WarThunder. never felt right, that and i can never get my controller to work on warthunder. even opening it in steam big window and binding all the controls, still never works.
Something I discovered is that by alternating full rudder you can evade most attacks with ease. You’ll end up moving your nose into something like a crescent moon shape. As far as I’ve tested it’s hard to hit someone doing that and vice versa. But really you’re better off turning in combat flaps and going into a dog fight.
Note: 2:10 Immelmann is different in WW1. It's the one they show to be the Rollover. That was WW1 Immelmann. Also should be noted, most of these don't actually work in the game because you'll get one-shot by a bullet and immediately die. Higher % chance to instantly die depending if you have any SL% Bonuses activated. Anything above 150% increases death chance exponentially.
Here is a good manoeuvre for an experienced pilot, put your control settings to full and and pull up, roll and use your rudder to get your aircraft into a vertical circle where your enemy will probably overshoot you and you don’t take much damage
When ever i'm in a Yak 3 and a P-40 is on my tail " does canopy roll until his pilot is uncousius then proceed to drop speed and let his dead plane ram you"
If we must split hairs, what you called the canopy roll is actually a barrel roll from what I saw. A barrel roll is basically where you roll the aircraft over itself and it ends more or less directly forwards from where it started, less some airspeed. It can be useful to make an enemy overshoot but at the end of the day, if you only move forwards, all the guy behind you has to do is wait and predict your movements. A canopy roll is a basic form of discplacement roll, where the aircraft displaces itself either to the left or right of its initial position in an attempt to either break contact or change position relative to the starting point. For example, doing a canopy roll to change position from the right side to the left side of your element lead. If you are following an aircraft, it goes as follows: If the guy you are following does a barrel roll and still ends up directly in front, that is a barrel roll. If the guy you are following does a barrel roll and ends up to the left or right of your aircraft, that is a canopy roll.
Packet loss is the best maneuver there is. You can teleport all around and be in one place even though that's not where you really are. Just don't try it close to the ground.
My tip: Never do the rollover, hammerhead turn, aileron roll or loop- the-loop while an enemy is on your left back or right back other than that you can use the other manoeuvres that they showed in the video :)
Expectations: this video Reality: randomly flail your cursor around as soon as you see a plane near you, then get made into swiss cheese 30 seconds to a minute of “dodging” later.

When I used to play WT for real (that was before the grinding, we could unlock 2-3 vehicles in one or 2 days without paying), I was a teen, I used to think about maneuvers and moves I could do to trick, attack the enemy... Some would really work and help me, some don't but that's the magic and fun, learning the mechanics of the game and using that to think something out of it. Now I play every now and then and don't have as much patience lol
Something I like to do when they're on my tail is decrease throttle half a second before starting a hammerhead turn, but I never use my rudder. I let it stall, which happens fast for the planes I use it with, then I just go back down like I was climbing over a hill. I'll either lose the enemy plane or I'll be on their tail
better to learn on your own. I learned via running from people extremely close to the ground so that when ever they shoot they could only do so for a few seconds before having to raise their nose and regain altitude. dodging in between and over trees and houses has to be one of the most exhilarating things in the game

Or just don't let anyone get on your six, use that radar thingy on the upper right corner and look around
@@martijn9568 thanks to the spotting system thats not possible
This works...
Until your flying a tier 2 truck with wings.
Pby be like

I’ve learned that it is “all in the hips”
the size of the plane also doesnt matter too but it has to be at least bigger than a me-162
I tought the split to myself some of my enemys just think "the f he is doin over there"
*presses f*
1 min later:
"Wait, why am I losing altitude?"
my dumbass had to sit here for a few seconds and think about this.
What does F do? I use controller

But that's if your boom n zooming
@@11Tits it's a good offensive maneuver and a good defensive maneuver too. It's very versatile which is what makes it so useful imo.

Am I a joke to you gaijin?
Loops are not just for show. You can use a series of loops to gain an energy advantage against a heavier opponent, or to bait an enemy for a teammate. If you get enough of an energy advantage, you can transition into an immelman or a hammerhead to stall them out and get on their tail.
Me on controller: yeah I got this.
'' you will leave your aircraft in 3.2.1"
never could get behind controller on WarThunder. never felt right, that and i can never get my controller to work on warthunder. even opening it in steam big window and binding all the controls, still never works.
Why is the background music always so good?
Note: 2:10 Immelmann is different in WW1.
It's the one they show to be the Rollover. That was WW1 Immelmann.
Also should be noted, most of these don't actually work in the game because you'll get one-shot by a bullet and immediately die.
Higher % chance to instantly die depending if you have any SL% Bonuses activated. Anything above 150% increases death chance exponentially.
Seriously? SL bonuses cause insta-kill likelihood to raise? Is that official or 'trust me bro' instincts dude?

@@nemzecski but you can switch to full realistic controls by a hotkey and then its easy :)

Here is a good manoeuvre for an experienced pilot, put your control settings to full and and pull up, roll and use your rudder to get your aircraft into a vertical circle where your enemy will probably overshoot you and you don’t take much damage
When ever i'm in a Yak 3 and a P-40 is on my tail
" does canopy roll until his pilot is uncousius then proceed to drop speed and let his dead plane ram you"
As a seasoned P-40F pilot I can agree with you on that
Hahaha
I pretty much switched to the Americans because I would rather be the one ramming than the one getting rammed
I don't think rudder is used in a barrel role though.
I clicked on this video on my lunch break and everyone’s wondering why I’m suddenly head banging
If you got a jet with very good manouverability do the cobra manouver: at 400 km/h press in one time the S and E button! Enjoy it :)
“If their aircraft is gaining on you, that means that their speed is much higher than yours”. yeah no dip Sherlock 🕵️♂️

Packet loss is the best maneuver there is. You can teleport all around and be in one place even though that's not where you really are. Just don't try it close to the ground.
The missile knows where it is...
No premiums, and good advice... thumbs up!
The loopty loop is able to be a combat Maneuver Because the loopy loop can help you get behind the enemy aircraft
when I'm flying a very manoeuvrable plane, I do a loop-a-loop to get on enemy's six

My tip: Never do the rollover, hammerhead turn, aileron roll or loop- the-loop while an enemy is on your left back or right back other than that you can use the other manoeuvres that they showed in the video :)

Warthunder you are like 6 years late.
