Andrew Everson bro am 27, I remember in highschool walking down the hallways shooting paperballs into trash can yelling KOBE!. by the time i was old enough to even pay attention to basketball jordan was playing for the wizards. So kobe really was our generation of Jordan. Sad day.
2:03 "I have to go talk to a team... before a game and tell them to play... and I can't." That breaks my heart. Stuff like this tells you just how fragile life is. Kobe made the most of his time here on this earth, and his legacy is a ripple in time that will be felt forever. Let's all embrace the Mamba Mentality and live our best lives. For Kobe.
Ace Iams, don’t take life for granted. Trust me, I have experienced the sudden death of a love one. The love of my life. We all going to die but it is still shocking.
Ace Iams my heart skipped a beat and dropped when I heard the news. I almost traded up. My hero as a child, and a lot of other peoples as well, passed away today. May he Rest In Peace and hopefully his family remains strong in these rough times. A legend on and off the court. 🐍😪
Doc Made me more emotional than I already was. I felt his pain and his heat ache. Feeling so much sadness for His wife and his daughters that he left behind. 😔
I was severely depressed and suicidal 8-10 years ago. But being a Kobe fan and reading deeply on his work ethic, perseverance, and motivating quotes gave me the courage to go outside and play ball. From there on out I was able to do more than just play ball. I went back to school, reignited relationships, and got my life back. This hurts beyond belief. A lot of negativity is clouding my mind at the moment on how unfair this is. Regardless, you are an icon to me Kobe. You were a big part of what saved my life. Thank you for everything. I will never forget you.
Michael keep striving and living your life with gusto as you will inspire and ignite a flame for someone like Kobe did for you. It’s a very sad day but we who remain have so much to live for and helping others in need. Keep going Michael
Michael You have to keep on pushing through it. God bless you, prayers sent out to you. Keep your head held up high. 🙏🏼 it’s a sad day but we will get through this together.
Kobe was different from other players. That’s why this hit almost everyone. He was a legend, an influence, an inspiration, but most importantly, he was a hero.
He was far from perfect, and I think it's important to acknowledge this. But I do have the sense that in the last ten years he did more and more and more to try to be a better person. All that quiet mentoring that he did for all the young players, including women players, makes this a really unbearable loss. He didn't have to do any of that, but he insisted on staying connected and trying to help others to succeed. Been reading and viewing a lot about him today, and one thing that keeps coming up is how isolated he was in his young years, both in high school and the NBA. I think he was working to make sure that no other super talented folks would have to go through those same years alone-- and for that I do see him as a different sort of hero.
Broke him, just like it broke me. My child hood idol. I'm literally still crying to this day. Idk why I keep coming back to these videos. I guess to normalize my emotions by seeing other's
It's tough man, Doc was fighting with his heart and soul to hold back those tears. This had me tearing up man. I can't believe this. This isn't fair at all.
I hope everybody give sincere statements like this. Not some well rehearsed PR team speech. Lebrons like that, havent said a word yet i think so watch out, he's waiting for everybody to finish, then he'll make his statement where he's suppose to move us all.

Aaron Scott she’s just going to grow up without a father which is terrible, but it’s worse for his 17 year old daughter who knew then so well and just had her father and sibling ripped away from her
As a father with a daughter I'm brought to tears at how it must have been in their final moments....all you want to do is protect her but for it to be out of a father's hands gets me so emotional. The terror Kobe and his daughter must have been feeling together as the helicopter was going down makes me so sad. 😢
@John Ortega I'm poor, gladly stay this way if it means not watching my fam go down in a crash. Haters will hate, death don't feel no better to rich people. Money would never mask the pain of the ones I lost.

Good on that reporter for switching it up asking him about his last experience with Kobe, you could hear the reporter tearing up as well. Good refresher for Rivers to reminisce on good memories.
This is the most heartbreaking interview I have ever seen. God bless Kobe and his family and friends during this time. If you don't believe in prayer, please go send them your love. Kobe has shook this new decade just as he has shaken the last 3. Always the GOAT.
2:05 “gotta talk to a team and tell them to play a game” tears...tears because the game seems so small compared to the loss of Kobe today. He was bigger than the game. He was an inspiration. He is missed. I miss him. Cheers to Kobe, he is now immortal.

I was born in 2000 and lakers vs boston in finals game 7 is the first basketball game i ever watch and kobe has tge power to make everyone acknowledge his mentality
So this is how we start this decade off....it hasn’t even been a month in. Kobe probably had so much more to tell us. *I bet a bunch of precious knowledge about the game died along with him :(*

Ace Iams my heart skipped a beat and dropped when I heard the news. I almost traded up. My hero as a child, and a lot of other peoples as well, passed away today. May he Rest In Peace and hopefully his family remains strong in these rough times. A legend on and off the court. 🐍😪

Well he can’t mourn, he’s an NBA Coach who has to do meetings, practices, and coach games. There is no time to mourn without eyes on you right now.

Should be that way. But it usually isn't
Kobe was different from other players. That’s why this hit almost everyone. He was a legend, an influence, an inspiration, but most importantly, he was a hero.
Mega Lovania yea. I’m hurting
Basketball world is now in tears :(
He was far from perfect, and I think it's important to acknowledge this.
Yeah he was man smh
Man, he was my inspiration, and the voice before I hit the gym 😢
I can hear his heart ache in his voice. 😢
