Hey everyone! If you’re wondering how I captured the plugin. I just followed the steps on the app, but on the last step when it asks to plug in the mic, I just plugged the output of my interface into the Nano Cortex! Think of your interface as an amp or a pedal. Hope this helps! 🤘🏻
Hey there, amazing sounds an playing! I've just got a Nano but never done a capture before and not technical! Hahaha! Can I ask a question as a total newbie to capturing please? I use the Cory plug in and my interface is a Duet Apogee on a MacBook pro. How would I get that into the Nano? Thank you thank you!
@kels866 thanks! And once you set up the app it basically walks you through it! When it says plugin into “device” that means interface in this case! On the final step, your output of the interface will go into the nano cortex!
Another thing people aren’t realizing is, if you have an amp that you don’t want to gig with, due to weight or any other reasons, you can still get the main sounds you want from it and use a much lighter amp. Also, if you are friends with anyone that has a crazy amount of amps, then that would also be really cool. It’s handy for capturing amp sim setting as well. It seems super versatile and extremely well priced for a neural DSP physical product.
@adriansoul7223 oh same. That's my biggest beef with my Tonex is just the hi-gain stuff doesn't sound as good to me as my neural plugins. But I'm still working on it
Amazing sound as always, but indeed a quite handy launch for Neural DSP, great for traveling like you said as well 🔥 I’ll go download those captures now
Thanks for the video :) I just asked this from neural dsp today: " The Capture out signal is quite dense and loud, so you may want to be careful with putting that through the preamps on your modeler or your interface, as it may potentially incur damage, especially at higher gain settings.
When attempting to Capture digital devices, that would bring in some added variables that may not help produce the desired effect. A couple of those variables are the preamps and converters on the device, which could colour the Captured response - not to mention the gain-staging element of it." I like the dynamics of bogren IRDX core with neural dsp plugins.. So I guess I need a computer though.
Ordered one today! Stoked! For someone who owns Archetype Nolly, I don’t need a standalone modeler like the full size QC, but due to my PC limitations I can’t run the transpose tool on Nolly X! With this nifty thing I’ll get to own a baby QC, capture all of my favorite presets I’ve made over the years on Nolly, and have them in my handheld standalone! Great stuff. Can’t wait to try it, thanks for the informative video!
When doing a capture from the plugin to the nano cortex can you capture the full rig? Like compressors and overdrives along with the amp for one complete capture? If so, that definitely makes up for some of this device's cons in my book. 🤷♂️
you can definitely capture amp, cab and overdrives, but not anything time based, like the compressor, delay, reverb.. i was actually looking up to Charlie's video on the Nano to understand how he would replicate the compressor effect that's typically used in his presets for that clean/slightly overdriven but compressed tone (a lot like Polyphia's tone, for example) but seems that currently there's no solution for that :(
Hello Charlie. Great video. I just bought a nano cortex and i wish i can capture some of my neural dsp plugin petrucci presets. Just want to have your advice on this: Is it better to capture just the sound of the amp without fx’s (delay, reverb …) or can i capture the sound exactly as is on the preset, with all the fx? Thanks a lot.
So awesome. I do have one dumb question. When capturing the plugin from a digital audio interface like a focusrite solo how do you account for the left and right outputs as I’m assuming the inputs for capture a singular.
Since you’re only capturing a mono signal I think it’s fine that you only plug in one of the outputs from the interface! At least from my understanding haha that’s how I captured this plugin!
@@CharlieRobbins - Thanks so much for responding so fast! I use Logic Pro and combine effects like Space Designer to separate out the right channel to sound like an amp in a drum room to get the EVH sound. Thus the silly question. Makes sense that it’s a mono channel.
