I'd like to personally thank Mark and Soft White Underbelly for having me on this amazing platform. I hope to help people and give back to this world the blessings of hope and positivity. If you or anyone you know needs help, spiritually, mentally, or emotionally please don't hesitate to reach out. NoScriptFellowship Much love to everyone reading this and may God Mightily bless you all! -Johnny
God bless you Johnny! This has inspired to reach out to my alcoholic father and hope for something better than the life we’ve had. May god watch over you and your loved ones.
This was so dope. I'm 48 ex crip, walked the same road. I haven't talked to my mother for 20 years because of childhood trauma. Now I'm going back to Louisiana to sit down and forgive her. Thanks Johnny.
This guy was so articulate with his storytelling that the jnterviewer didn't need to ask him anymore questions. This was his personal spiritual testimony. Great story.
having your guests speak uninterrupted and on such a nonjudgmental platform produces the most thought-provoking, sincere, addicting series to listen to
Have to say, this was the most well articulated argument about God and sin I’ve ever heard. As someone who isn’t a Christian or even from that background, I really felt this message.
Remember God loves you♥️😊! Good news is that Jesus paid the punishment for your sins, He died, and rose from the dead on the 3rd day. you are ONLY forgiven and saved by putting faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
I’m Christian and he definitely convicted me. I can’t live in condemnation and believe the great work Jesus did for me, it doesn’t work. This was a blessing
I dont believe in organized religion and have my own thoughts on how the universe works or the spiritual makeup of it, but Johnny's story and words still gave me something to think about to incorporate into my train of thought. For that, I am grateful.
Coming back here to say this is the video that brought me to Christ. I was in a fairly low point of my life when I stumbled across it and the way Johnny spoke really opened my heart. I decided to visit a local church and to cut a long story short, for there onwards I've done the Alpha course, am in a fellowship group, and made an amazing new social circle of people who I genuinely connect with and enjoy spending time with both in and outside of church. This month, I am going to get baptised and will reference this video in my testimony. Truly life changing and I'm so glad I saw this video when I did. Thank you Johnny and Mark.
That hit hard with me as well. That was ab blessing to them both & it took a lot of courage. My dad and I were at peace when he passed, but I'd love some more conversations/time with him.
"If he saved you from your sins, and you still think you're a sinner, that must mean he failed, and he didn't." As a lifelong Christian, this opened my eyes. I never looked at my life from that viewpoint. Such a powerful testimony.
I'm sorry, I would like to ask several questions about this sentence he said on the video. 1. Who is "he"? 2. He ain't real, so how could this sentence be justified? 3. How to tell yourself that follow a religion is not a brainwashing process?
@@user-wy1nv8uf1zhe is Yahusha aka Jesus Christ and he does exist my brother, there is much evidence he lived and was crucified in fact the majority of historians agree he lived, google and do research for yourself if you think I’m lying. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with the one true living God who proved himself to be real 2000 years ago, he preached a message of love with his greatest commandments being love others like you love yourself, love God with all your heart, and forgive others as he forgave us. May God bless you and open your eyes to the truth in the mighty name of Yahusha 🙏🏽
@@user-wy1nv8uf1zJesus was historically proven to be a real person, who was crucified and even raised from the dead, don’t believe me? Do your own research. There is overwhelming historical evidence of his existence, crucifix action and resurrection. Just about all scholars agree on this. So we know Jesus Christ is real. We also know the devil is real and has blinded billions. So it’s not about Religion, it’s about a relationship with God. Jesus himself. Now you have a choice, to keep your heart hardened and continue in denial, or to submit to Jesus, and turn away from your ways, and follow his way for you. All I can tell you is that your ways, are sinful and wicked and lead to destruction, but his way is perfect, holy, just and leads to life. Living for yourself will make you become more miserable. It’s not a matter of if but when.
@@user-wy1nv8uf1z you're not sorry but glad you asked. He is real and it's historically documented. Do you have questions about his Buddhist upbringing or just honing in on his Christian faith?
@@CacaoFlower except it kinda is, in the Bible that’s a lie many of us as broken humans have to grapple with, that we are not in control and ultimately putting our trust in God is such a freeing gift for us that feel we’ve had to remain in control in the past in order to protect ourselves. This is a beautiful, vulnerable comment.
I think he spoke the core of the gospel very plainly. If possible, I hope to listen to his mother's testimony, too, as a mom and wife who met Jesus first in her family. Thank you for your sharing, Johnny!
Jesus wasn't religious either. Religion is humanity's attempt to get to God, Jesus is God's attempt to get to us through Him (John 3:16). Jesus is literally the opposite of religion, He teaches us how to have a relationship with our Father in heaven through Him.
@@0194D the literal definition of being a Christian is a follower of Christ. We get to know and have fellowship with God through seeking his word (Bible), prayer, faith and trust in him alone, not necessarily the demands of 'religion' which is the important distinction to make here. For example Catholicism... very 'religious'
@@edmond472 so the question i ask is, at what point, do we separate Jesus from the religion that lead up to him? How much of the Bible is to be “ignored”?
Mark has done many many videos.this ranks in the top 10. I’m so proud of this young man.he’s on a mission to find happiness, and works toward it every day.
He's on a mission to share with the broken that it was trusting God that finally gave him happiness. He made clear from the beginning that simply trusting himself and chasing happiness resulted in misery and death all around him. I agree this video is tops...best one yet IMO. God Bless and guide you ❤️
What a beautiful testimony of this man's journey. To learn of God's love, forgiveness, grace and Salvation is the hardest thing to believe at first because we are so flawed. It took me so long to trust God's Word over myself. Thankfully He won and I am His. Forever forgiven!
Johnny strikes me as an extremely intelligent, caring and considerate man. His ability to articulate his feelings is powerful and I hope the adversity he's endured has paved the way for his happiness and ability to be a good Father, lover and friend.
I believe it is better for people who had gone through adversities to stay childless. We will eventually relive similar circumstances that led to us being broken in the first place.
If you read this Johnny I just want to say thank you. My wife has had years of built up anger towards her dad because her father was physically and mentally abused by her dad when she was growing up. Fast forward to now her mother passed a few yrs ago so he’s alone and elderly so we go and check on him regularly and he was still angry and in denial about the abuse so I showed her your interview and it had her in tears. We’ll she took the same advice your pastor gave you and apologized and he broke down then she did as well. That was a huge breakthrough. So now we go to dinner on Sundays and they talk and spend time together regularly.
I usually just eat through RUclips content and never comment but this is just... By FAR the best and also the most impactful interview I've ever watched. I'm addicted to Soft White Underbelly's content and watch a ton of it but this is the first one that actually made me cry. Not just tear up, but full out crying. It was just so strikingly beautiful. Thank you so much for your story.
I grew up in similar circumstances albeit a little more psychotic and less crime related. I have no clue why, but I am one of few people from my environment that has made it to a point where I can be extremely self aware (sometimes to a debilitating degree) and I have to say most people i've met from similar backgrounds like old friends n shit have high emotional intelligence. The issue is that that intelligence is fucking useless to everybody around you in those areas. You can spend all day going down the rabbit hole on shit like why does my 4th grade teacher hit her students or why does my grandpa never say more than 5 words to me a day but the fact is when you speak up and try to have a conversation about these things no one listens to you. They reject you and put you down because they don't know how to deal with the emotional pain that causes them to behave in that manner. My approach was keeping it to myself and now the goal is to speak my mind more and help others speak theirs. This guy is an amazing example of that mentality to change and help others heal.
Johnny is arguably THE most self aware, down to earth, respectful man I have ever heard speak. I feel like he radiates safe energy and I would whole heartedly, without a shadow of a doubt, trust him with my life
Society has many stereotypes about manhood. Johnny’s apology to his father and the forgiveness that engendered is one of the most impressive expressions of true manhood I’ve ever seen.
For anybody who doest know why people get involved with drama from broken homes, it's todo with ptsd and the way a individual Handel's it, extroverted people may challenge the stress, this leads to addiction to thrills that inturn turns off the frontal cortex due to adrenaline being released that can last in the body for 3-4 days and while continuously being retrigged. The side effect of this is a inability to concentrate, remember, make complex racial decisions, and well effect the individuals ability to sleep causing myriad of additional side effects.
This was a beautiful interview. This young man almost broke down at the loss of his best friend. But completely broke down apologizing to his dad for his behaviors his dad put on him, but took blame for. That’s beautiful.
@@kevinshepherd6306 I'm sorry you both went through that & I hope you have found peace in your own way with what had happened. I see that your profile picture is some healthy looking mycelium growing in a fennel seed substrate - I hope that the life you have helped grow has returned the favor to you, in-turn helping you grow as a person away from the burden of your past trauma.
@@billys1389 Definitely not scripted. He’s simply sharing his experience and how this encounter with God changed his life: his life before knowing God vs. his life now with God in it. You’re not required to share the same views. Many do not. But if you listen closely, you may find yourself in the “old” Johnny. And if you happen to listen with your heart, it will bring about change in your life too. Be well.
Y'all need to stop saying that people are articulate like its some unique thing. The vast majority of criminals who make it to organised levels of crime are exceedingly intelligent. Either they dont have access to formal education or they dropped out for reasons of poverty, but any criminal you actually talk to is gonna have a good brain on them. Some of the things criminals come up with to avoid detection by police would make intelligence agencies impressed.
True. But perhaps I’m not as evolved because I don’t believe he should have had to apologise first to receive an apology. People should not have to apologise to their abusers: In my mind it enables and justifies their abuse.
Man, when he started talking about the dinner table with his father. I couldn't stop crying. I literally had to wipe my glasses away. That was intense. That's the power of forgiveness.
@niggaturd5643he literally said the Pastor and giving his life to God was the reason he forgave his father, or least the first step to him forgiving him. God deserves all the praise and glory, it wasn’t u who gave him the blueprint to forgiveness so u have no right to speak on who gets credit.
The part where Johnny started talking about his apology to his father and what followed was what touched me the most emotionally. Just a huge respect to Johnny for coming out in public and sharing the tough/difficult moments of his life with the world.🙏🏻
You get attacked by several people, have your belonging stolen. Thats already incredibly humiliating. Just to have the one fucking person who, YOU SHOULD be able to trust, rub more salt into that poor young man's wounds. That made me cry.....Johnny still manages to be a loving and wonderful human being. Thanks for your wonderful example sir.
And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. -Revelation 12:10-11 ESV
Thats exactly what my husband says no home no food no $$$ shit dad illegal mom and he thrived through it all. He is starting his business real positive dude. I fucking love him. I had it all and was a miserable person. He taught me happiness is within myself and he pushed my ass to be my best self. Cant see my life without him.
I forgave my dad after this video. Now everyday he sends me voice notes wishing me a good day, full of blessings and saying that daddy loves me. It really changed things for the better. Edit: I realized my dad isn't really that great so I cut him off
“To forgive someone is to set that person free, only to then discover that that person is you.” Corrie Ten Boom ❤ This testimony made me shed tears too. Thank you for sharing your story!!
Wow, just wow. I’m so proud of you dude. “I’m an imperfect person trying to get perfect results, and that’s where the depression comes.” I felt that so hard. Thank you.
This was such a powerful testimony. I can understand why Mark didn't include many questions here. It was beautiful to just simply listen to his powerful words flow, as he took us from sadness and weeping (I cried) to hope, forgiveness and redemption. God bless you, Johnny; and we praise Jesus for your life. Thank you, Mark.
I'm watching this in a library and clearly that was a mistake cause I'm getting weird looks lol. I really didn't expect to cry. I can't relate to him on most things, but that feeling of disappointing your parents fucking sucks
What a blessing you’ve given so many people, Johnny… I lived with an alcoholic father, in a chaotic household. When I was 22 years old, we met for dinner in S.F. where he lived. Conversation got around to mine and my sisters childhood. My dad apologized forc being a lousy father, and a lousy husband. A week later he died unexpectedly. He gave me a gift of apology, which really changed my life.
This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen. For someone who's not religious like me, the context and story is mind blowing and actually help me learned and understand so much more about humanity and life. Thank you so much Johnny and Mark!
Thank you for sharing your story @Johnny-Chang ! Brought me to tears when you mentioned the meet with your Dad ! Wish you all the happiness and peace this world can provide :)
He have a nice touching story besides the christianity part. that part is pure bs with no logic. but glad it made him happy and worked out for him tho, the aim of the creation of religion is to be a white lie for people to live a positive life anyways. it is what it is
1:19 “I trusted myself a lot, because I felt like I couldn’t trust my parents.” This could make the huge difference in how a child subsequently makes some poor unfortunate choices. Parents must be a safe space for a child. Many blessings to this man. He has overcame so much.
I feel this. I grew up in a single-parent family and though I had a fairly happy childhood and had all the lovely adults around me, I also intensely feel that “I trusted myself a lot” the thing is, it doesn’t necessarily turn out in a bad way but for me, that “trust” in myself makes me quite a lonely person. I don’t know if I’m making any sense here but I feel that so emotionally intensely.
Man, this guy has such a gift. I have felt the emptiness and void in my heart so many times and it’s a hopeless feeling. I’m so happy to see Johnny found peace and was able to turn his life around. What an inspiration.
Man, this was a really good one. I cried with him when his dad apologized, and I would imagine many other people did as well. He's going to make a big impact on this world in a positive way.
I could definitely relate to him and his situation with his father....I cried a lot too.. Thank you Johnny a little forgiveness goes a long ways! God bless you brother
Man, I haven't cried in a few years, but this got me. I never got the chance to make amends with my dad. I somehow felt like I did through his story. I forgave my dad with him. i hope Johnny knows he's made an incredible impact through this video.
First person I've ever heard speak about Christianity that moved me. The story with his father made me cry so much. Much love and respect to you, absolutely one of the best and most beautiful episodes of SWU
Same here, my knee jerk reaction is to roll up the shutters. But he did manage to make it appealing even, so the good he can do with for the people who carry the depth of pain that results in substance abuses, violence etc is wonderful
I didn’t know where this interview was headed. He walked into the church to eat and told his mother he didn’t want to be evangelized, and then ended up evangelizing all of us..a powerful testimony delivered in the spirit of love…thank you sir.
One of my fave stories about faith and forgiveness I’ve ever heard. I’m not a religious person but his story is compelling and can resonate with so many. I’ve held this with me and have shared with others. So raw, real, and core changing. Thank you, Johnny. 🤍
The power of forgiveness. 20 years of anger squashed in seconds. Respect to him and his father to both be brave enough to admit and take responsibility. The world can never run out of people like this.
No they can run out no need for people to act on there little emotions when there is much more going on in the world that we don’t need to forgive no one after 15 years of beating your mother after getting beat and then 15 years later I’ll forgive you because now you have a change of heart? Lol Noo who you are 15 years ago is who you are today .. lol no forgiveness forgiving bulshit like this would keep giving other people an excuse to act how they want nooo not at all we do not need people like this if anything .. we need people to prevent people from ever acting like this but that surely will never happen so getting rid of people like this will be easier then forgiving a fuck tard… Forgive your self for ever letting it happen forgive never forget but just accept it as it is what it is for you to be “happy” in your life but don’t forgive nobody pretending to have a change of heart
@@Keyboardwarrior36932 your struggling with the same thing that the asian gangbanger and ALL of us struggle with. The asian gangbanger was able to get his power from god or ‘surrender’ and trust the pastor. It is because of that, he created a new possibility to emerge. What you are suggesting is what we all typically would do. Being right. And when we are right we are the only ones miserable. The key thing about forgiveness is that it is not for the other person, it is for you. It’s how you release all the negative feelings and emotions associated with those events. When you still label somebody a ‘fuck turd’ there is still a charge of energy there which means it is not gone. So you really have not resolved it. You swept it under the rug only to allow yourself to be triggered the next time in the future where anything that may remind you of it will cause you to burst out in anger. I get it. I was and sometimes am there. It is really hard. It takes courage and bravery. The hardest thing is when you do have the bravery and courage to forgive but the other party does NOT recognize or take responsibility for what they have done. That is a tough pill to swallow but to your point, that is life and not everybody takes responsibility. All people want is a sincere heartfelt apology. No bullshit pleasantries, etc. people know by our way of being if we are being truthful. We are not fools. If your hurting out there. I know we have not met, but on behalf of the person that hurt you, I am sorry….
He’s got something special. Not only does he have a crazy story, he is a perfect example of someone changing for the better. Lots of experience and knowledge to be passed down. He’s also very well spoken, and doesn’t hurt that he looks like a model. Hopefully he does more with this spotlight he has been given.
This is by far one of my favorite episodes. He is such an incredible story teller and what a difference he is making for so many that can relate to his painful backstory. Happy he found self-love and forgiveness and a path forward to an amazing future.
He obviously had much time to self-reflect while in prison....and made the best use of his time there. Looks like he left prison open and receptive to when the minister came along.
I clicked because he was fine, but stayed because he had one of the most beautiful stories I’ve heard on this channel. Forgiveness is something that so many people struggle with including myself and I also think that is holding back my happiness. I’m so glad Johnny shared his story ❤️
He has this calming "light" about him now. Well spoken, inspiring, amazing how easily conveys such complex issues..one of the best interviews I have ever seen. Thank you!
This was inspirational, and they way he explained everything, you would have never known what kind of childhood he had. No sense of anger or resentment. Powerful.
I’ve been following these videos for some time now. This hands down is the best one I’ve seen yet. It just hit home like no other. Thank you for your time.❤
This interview is the best interview I’ve watched so far. His voice is soft spoken and draws you to him. Such an inspirational person and life story. Him talking about his Dad was riveting and such a tear jerker. Had it not been for his Mom and her needing that ride to church Johnny maybe would not be here to tell this story. Moms are amazing souls. ❤ His pastor definitely changed his life. We need more pastors like this!
My main take away on ALOT of these interviews is how IMPACTFUL a Father is in ALL of our lives, emotionally, spiritually and physically. The toll or the leadership is tangible coming from a father. I have two boys and I too Love Jesus with my whole heart, I still struggle everyday to be a good role model. This video will do so much for people.
Agreed. Wow. Thank you, Johnny. My new favorite interview in this series. There's only been one other that I've watched more than once until now. Words escape me other than "thank you" and "godspeed".
I’ve seen many many many videos on this channel and I’ve never broke down crying like I did when he was talking about the moment he apologised to his father. That hit me like a tonne of bricks because I am also experiencing the exact same situation with my father. It’s going to be extremely difficult, but I now know what I need to do to overcome density in my heart. Thank you for sharing your story. Greatly appreciated.
I'm very thankful that my story impacted you and thank you for tuning in. I'm here to help if you ever need any guidance, it truly was difficult but when I trusted someone outside of myself who had a solid foundation, I was able to experience true happiness and peace. Thanks again!

Mark Laita, thank you so so much or making the choice to post this incredible testimony of grace and forgiveness. Lives were changes by the thousands because you chose to post this.
This was the best interview you have had Mark. JOHNNY IS AN INSPIRATION. The story of apologizing to the father who beat him really got inside me. When my father was dying I gave him a chance to apologize to me for beating me, which he could not do, instead he denied ever abusing me. He lied to me, to save his own face. But, If I had just been able to apologize to him instead it would have been so powerful and I know that would have enabled him to open his heart to me. When I go to bed tonight I will offer up my apologies to his spirit. I know it will help me release pain and anger I have carried inside for 67 years. Thank you Johnny. You are a great preacher. Such a beautiful soul
My parents would whip me if i am stubborn and hot headed because they do not want me to loose myself to the world. Today i would sit with my dad for a deep conversation/discussion every night on how to look after the whole household and how to increase our status. If they have not controlled me as i am stubborn and wild, i would be ending up in the street or be a h*e. I am thankful for my parents in raising me to be a great women.
Sorry to hear your story. But I have suffered a lot of childhood trauma as well from my narcissistic mother who I have got non contact with. But it's all about forgiveness. I've learned that you can forgive someone and you don't have to do it in person. So you can forgive someone even after they've passed and it's still very meaningful. I forgiven my mom and my father who have both been complete disappointments. But I have not done it in person just cuz I don't have the ability.
My favorite person of all time on this channel. I can’t remember the last time I cried but I did when he spoke about forgiving his father. Such a good story. Thank you Mark and Johnny.
This is one of the most impactful things I've ever watched. Pain is universal and inevitable, growth is not. We see so many versions of unresolved pain on this channel, but so few that grow from it and move on. Everything you do onto others, you do onto yourself and vice versa...it is human law. You must forgive others to forgive yourself. You must forgive yourself to forgive others. There is no other way. Thank you so much for that Johnny - you made a grown man cry the manliest of tears.
You're not obligated to forgive. As a matter of fact that's the last thing you need to shove down a victim's throat. Especially if they are needing help working through their trauma/injuries.
Heaven and Hell are real places... We can not hide our sins from God. Is your heart rightwith God? Jesus Christ loves you and He died for our sins. If you will REPENT of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe in the gospel, you will be saved and your name will be written into the Book of Life. Revelation 20:15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. "Salvation Prayer" Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you, to confess that I am a sinner. I have done some things in my life that I am not proud of and I repent of my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that He arose from the grave and that He is alive today. I ask that you forgive me of my sins. I proclaim that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. AMEN...
@@louniece1650 you’re not obligated to forgive is fair to say. No one is. There is a clause to that though and that is if you come to God, forgiving others is essential and necessary. In the Lord’s Prayer of the Bible it says “forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed us”. This verse is basically saying “I will forgive others, would you please forgive me bc I have sinned”. Basically breaking down that verse, when it comes to knowing God and having a relationship with him, forgiving others would be a byproduct of our decision based on what Christ has done to forgive us. So yeah in that sense you will and should forgive others. It’s not being thrown down your throat. It’s making you face your demons and say it’s no one’s fault. It’s the victim saying to the attacker I’m going to release this spell and bitterness you have over me controlling my emotions in order to live my life freely without restraint so that I can have peace. Peace within myself and peace with God.
I felt this to the core. More than his articulation and storytelling, this is one of the very few stories on this channel that I didn't skip parts, not ONCE. More life to the Pastor, Johnny, his family and his own family he's creating.
This is so crazy, I used to hangout with Johnny. I was a missionary in 1999 and 2000 in Alhambra, Johnny’s mom wanted us to spend time with him. His mother loved him so much, I remember searching for Johnny one night finding him at some kind of a video gaming place. I can’t believe this…. I think about Johnny almost everyday after I moved back home to Canada wondering how he made out, it’s so awesome to Johnny doing great. God bless my friend!!
In 1999 when I was a raver handing out flyers, I witnessed a Wah Ching stumbling out of a downtown rave with a knife still stuck to his stomach. Blood was everywhere. The violence is real in their world.
I’m personally not religious but I’m honestly so happy for this guy that he was able to find something to give him peace, forgiveness, and hope in his life. His story made me shed tears, especially when he forgave his father, I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been to do
Perhaps he sees his father as a weak confused individual and not really an evil person. After all, forgiveness is more to release the pain of our own selves…
Everyone needs a braking system....theres a brakin system in the car and it must overcome the accelerator otherwise if accelerator overcomes the Brakes , you will ultimately crash . LikeWise We are people who need self control(brakes) if we dont have self control and our desires are like the accelerator if it keeps going, ( I want to do drugs/ i want to make money /i want have sex with many women etc,) if you dont manage that youll crash out in life and youll Live Miserably. Some people are born flawed imperfect in sin and dont have capabilities to stop themselves from committing Sin and so they need something or someone to help them..Someone else can be your Braking System..(Pastor,Neighbor,Teacher,Relative, etc) To see your wrongs and help you manage Life to help u take your foot off the Pedal and regain control....~Self Control
I’ve only cried watching a handful of your interviews Mark, but THIS one? This one hit me to my core. That POWER of forgiveness really is something different and it really does break down so many layers of pain, hurt, and trauma. I’m thankful for this platform each and everyday because I’ve learned and felt SO much watching these interviews about myself and about others. Thank you Mark! Thank you Johnny!

Clicked on the video just to listen to some gang stories on the background while working on some stuffs, 5 minutes in I'm glued in to the screen the whole time as this man tells his powerful story in the most eloquent and inspiring way possible. I cried.
Same here, wanted as my background as I work out. Instead I hear a reflective story of my family. Glad he got past his anger and excuses, am sure he read the Buddhist quote on anger.
I realized half way through the interview the he didn’t need prompting with questions. He just told his testimony. I am glad his relationship with his father is better. This is one of my favorite interviews. ❤
What an incredible human being. As an Asian myself, who doesn't have the healthiest relationship with my Dad till this day - this interview really made me think. Props to the Pastor and Johnny's mom for having nothing but love and faith in him. May God bless Johnny, his family and the many hearts he has touched/and will touch. 💛
There are so many lessons here. What hits hard is how an ex gang member/convict goes to 'gladiator school' at 12 years but today, he breaks down in tears when he speaks of forgiving his father. We need to love our kids all we can.
Pray all those who are on this program are set free from all strongholds and generational curses forever in Jesus Name and that the Lord blesses them with a strong spirit a sound mind and a transformed mind to become financially strong and independent in Jesus Name.....
God raised him up. He was obedience to God. Like Johnny said, he no longer believes in himself but believes in the Lord. The only way to fight darkness is to bring in the light. The only way to say no to sin is the work of the holy spirit on ourselves.
This interview with Johnny shook me to the core. What an absolutely captivating interview by such an articulate human being. Full of grace, character and story telling. It’s not common to find Johnny. Thank you for blessing us
Mark is the best at interviewing people with a story. he knows when to let someone go with the flow, 32min without interrupting Johnny who is the perfect example of someone structured without a structure. the way he tells his story shows he'd be a great father born without one. 32 minutes of pure hope right there. you be safe Johnny.
I’m a silent subscriber. I never comment..however…this was absolutely powerful. This man got a second chance at life. I know he’s going to make an impact on whoever needs to hear his testimony. Even if he changes one life. I cried when he spoke about apologizing to his dad. I can relate in regards to that. I don’t have the best relationship with my mom. That part spoke to me and for the first time in my adult life I’m considering opening that line of communication back up bc this man gave me hope. Wow. I was at a loss for words. 20 years of a strained relationship with his father went out the window just by him taking accountability and saying sorry. Johnny's story is remarkable and I can truly tell by the sound of his voice and aura that he is truly blessed.

Jesus is Lord.
I’m Christian and he definitely convicted me. I can’t live in condemnation and believe the great work Jesus did for me, it doesn’t work. This was a blessing

Jesus Christ loves you and died for your sins
"If he saved you from your sins, and you still think you're a sinner, that must mean he failed, and he didn't." As a lifelong Christian, this opened my eyes. I never looked at my life from that viewpoint. Such a powerful testimony.
I'm sorry, I would like to ask several questions about this sentence he said on the video. 1. Who is "he"? 2. He ain't real, so how could this sentence be justified? 3. How to tell yourself that follow a religion is not a brainwashing process?

Not that deep
@@CacaoFlower except it kinda is, in the Bible that’s a lie many of us as broken humans have to grapple with, that we are not in control and ultimately putting our trust in God is such a freeing gift for us that feel we’ve had to remain in control in the past in order to protect ourselves. This is a beautiful, vulnerable comment.

Absolutely. She's like Augustine's mom, Monica.
Yes!!! People think God is all about "religion" and He's soooo not! He loves us so much & just wants us to call on Him for help.
I am not religious but Johnny’s explanation of his faith is something I can get behind. Thank you. Another wonderful interview Mark.
Jesus loves you! He really does.
Jesus wasn't religious either.
Religion is humanity's attempt to get to God, Jesus is God's attempt to get to us through Him (John 3:16). Jesus is literally the opposite of religion, He teaches us how to have a relationship with our Father in heaven through Him.
@@mudhead8415 I’m curious. How can be have issues with religion, but love Jesus, when Christianity is how we get to know Jesus and understand him?
@@0194D the literal definition of being a Christian is a follower of Christ. This dudes emotional intelligence is on another level. Nothing but love and good vibes/prayers towards him and his family.
Idk why but Asians have a high level of awareness, I think it comes from how humble they are an they embrace their feelings if that makes sense

The power of forgiveness. 20 years of anger squashed in seconds. Respect to him and his father to both be brave enough to admit and take responsibility. The world can never run out of people like this.
His story should turn into a movie. It could be a blockbuster one. Screen title Forgiveness.
No they can run out no need for people to act on there little emotions when there is much more going on in the world that we don’t need to forgive no one after 15 years of beating your mother after getting beat and then 15 years later I’ll forgive you because now you have a change of heart? Lol Noo who you are 15 years ago is who you are today .. lol no forgiveness forgiving bulshit like this would keep giving other people an excuse to act how they want nooo not at all we do not need people like this if anything .. we need people to prevent people from ever acting like this but that surely will never happen so getting rid of people like this will be easier then forgiving a fuck tard…
Forgive your self for ever letting it happen forgive never forget but just accept it as it is what it is for you to be “happy” in your life but don’t forgive nobody pretending to have a change of heart

My main take away on ALOT of these interviews is how IMPACTFUL a Father is in ALL of our lives, emotionally, spiritually and physically. The toll or the leadership is tangible coming from a father.
This!!! Yes Leo! We're all interconnected through the struggle.
You're not obligated to forgive. As a matter of fact that's the last thing you need to shove down a victim's throat. Especially if they are needing help working through their trauma/injuries.
manly🤣🤣🤣keep tellin‘ that to yourself.
Heaven and Hell are real places... We can not hide our sins from God. Is your heart rightwith God? Jesus Christ loves you and He died for our sins.
