I think it's important to state for the record that Huey long is in this mod.
shhhh you'll case the share our wealthers to flood in from kaiserreich!
Pretty sure Huey Long is in every alt hist scenario regarding the US
This profile pic and first name isn't big enough for the both of us
EVERY MAN A KING!
Huey Long, shot by an assassin in the Louisiana State Capitol irl, Head of American Union State in Kaiserreich and now this
I love how he never once noticed the "russian america" also reforming Canada as Quebec might be an epic gamer moment
i mean im sure he noticed its just not that much of note, obviously the russians just never sold alaska in this world.
cth yeah I suppose so
Surprised America never just took Alaska in the peace.
delete yeah
@@plowedsnow3889 Perhaps the book the mod is based on explains it.
"We were on the side of the bad guys. But we won. So we were on the side of the good guys, because we get to write the history books"
Absolutely genius
That's the general idea and quote but is is sadly very true.
@@SciRuler It's not true, anyone with fingers and a keyboard can write a history book whether they won or lost. That's why African history books exist that jerk Africa off while demonizing Europe, even though Africa was literally never the victor. The only state which wasn't colonized was Liberia, and that was essentially a de facto American colony.
@@kidfox3971 the same can also be said for Ethiopia but Mussolini said no
@@RabbiHerschel I mean, Italy did use gas against Ethiopia, whose army wasn't fully equipped and some people were using sticks.
In ww1 the central powers werent really even the bad guys tho
The Southern expansionists were eyeing Cuba for annexation so yes it’s based on historic fact. Ostend Manifesto, that explains their rationale. It was also a part of the Confederacy’s Golden Circle plan
I was wondering when you would show up. How are you?
Considering it was Catholic Mestizos and White Protestants, idk how well that mix would go
@@failuretv814 I'm doing well at the moment, thanks for asking! How are you? Hope you're having a good week so far
@@AverytheCubanAmerican I am doing well too. Thanks for asking.
@@neoknight9180 the U.S population is around 25 percent catholic. However I think the mestizo Cuban population would be overrun by southern imported slaves to work plantations fairly quickly
12:11 yup that’s literally what happens in the books too
Wasn't that the US did in the actual Civil War too? The Mississippi Dixon line I think it was called. Still though the Confederates tried out a similar method, of cutting through Michigan where the would cut the US in half too. Much like Hitler with Stalingrad cutting the Caucasus for their oil. It backfired on them and though Germany was known for its great encirclements in the beginning, and the South with their great General E. Lee. It began to backfire and the Soviets, or the United Soviets in this case, doing great military planning of encirclements on their own, just like in our own. (Still a tip for US invaders is to cut Mississippi river so the country is in half, but face it, invading the US is like Russia, but with more soldiers [civilians] with guns who know their shit])
@@SciRuler *Mason Dixon line, and yeah it happened in the original timeline, a lot of what happens in the “second Great War” mirrors quite a few moments from the America civil war, March to the sea, stalemate in northern Virginia at “the wilderness” for a few examples, a notable one they didn’t do was the Pennsylvania campaign thinking it would end in a disaster. I’m sure there’s probably a lot more but I haven’t studied that history as much.
Yeah Patton (yes that one) leads operation Blackbeard that would eventually cut the US in half, well sorta cause the US can still ship things through Canada. Patton has been recalled to defend Virginia before the US fights the CS in not Stalingrad however the US has to deal with the Mormons for a third time (similar to the Troubles in Ireland) and their enemies at sea, Japan, CSA and The British empire
@@Cityinlead Huh yea, still operation Blackbeard is still a major blow to the heartland, or in this case motherland heh, and the full country is cut in half no matter the snowy neighboring colony. The entire country of United (Union) States is cut in half regardless of Canada. Also really interesting to see both fucking Patton and I think Rommel work together, both admired each other in the real time line, and this is a fucking pogchamp timeline to include both working together, how the fuck does the CSA have a chance? Other than somewhat the largest land planning invasion ever conceived so far in that world. Much like Operation Barbarossa, heh, pirates, they would do large scale maneuvers and ever the encirclements like the military geniuses their Southern forefathers once were.
It was utterly fascinating to not see the US a dominant power, in fact 2 semi dominant powers, compete and change the world forever by not really having such a global superpower. Was really fun to see how maybe such a large scale nuclear war on their side, might lead to global denuclearization, since of all the destruction rather than our own considering it helped to surrender a stubborn nation, it was viewed as a bit more beneficial than the bloody one in the southern timeline. This is really fascinating and a lot of amazing work put into it, and I can hope they adapt more into the events and timeline as a whole. Would this have been a bit of a better world? Also maybe cold war between Kaiserreich Germany and Commie United States? Nah they're Germanic brothers. Think it might be a bit better in that timeline with a bit more bloodshed in the US. (ALSO CHANGE TANKS TO BARRELS)
@@SciRuler ah here’s the thing Patton is actually a confederate general in this timeline. Which makes sense in a way, I think his grandfather was a Virginian and confederate officer who died in Gettysburg in the OTL but since no Gettysburg I imagine the family stayed in Virginia
@@Cityinlead Guess so, especially since the Confederacy in this timeline was birthed with amazing generals, just like the US with amazing soldiers. Patton was a fantastic tank general that even impressed the likes of Irwin Rommel, or his weird name in that timeline. Also I rewatched Alternate History Hub and Emperor Tigerstar's series of video on that said timeline (which is good you should check out) and it states that the march to the sea actually never happened and it was a tough and grueling war like Allies on the collapsing Germany in ours.
I’m pretty sure the book was written by Harry Turtledove. He is a great alt history author. I’ve read some of his books and they are great.
Yeah, turtledove is arguably one of the biggest reasons alt history made its way into pop culture
It's 100% based off of Harry Turtledove. You can see the south is lead by Jake Featherston (who was in the southern victory series).
Probally his best book series
Could use less irish-american sailors complaining about the sun though.
Yeah, he's good. Likes making parallels, though.
FDR looks like that because he’s not crippled in this mod, it was in the rich world lore you skipped over
But he is crippled in Southern Victory, it's mentioned about every time he and Flora have their conversations that he was sitting in a wheelchair (and that this was one of the reasons why though having the talent he would likely never be President)
@@voramus I would like to think that FDR just said fuck you to his disability and help lead the United States out of the Great Depression and through World War 2. Still I guess since the United States wants to be more United than ever, communism is great for Unions right? (Don't mind the starvation of Canadians, they were anti-revolutionaries anyway.) (Also would Karl Marx live in the US due to the Germans migrating? Would be a great kickstart in the US.)
FDR always looks ill
@@SciRuler Fun fact, Karl Marx considered moving to Texas when he was exiled from Prussia. He also admired Abraham Lincoln, and they wrote letters to each other
as soon as i saw the video i was like: "hm wonder what alternative history this might be"
then i saw the "southern victory" icon and i went, oh yes. this is gonna be spicy.
ha
Fun fact, in the lore the first Socialist President of the US allowed fleeing Bolsheviks to settle in Kansas, and if you elect the Socialists you can call up these veterans to form an elite division led by Georgy Zhukov (who anglicized his name to George Zhukov) who becomes a general.
I really need to read the book
Surely ISP ‘March Madness’ should’ve been a whole month of March of the Eagles?
Hell yeah broder

Funny enough ISP in the books Morrell drove to the sea like Sherman through Georgia

And more grumpy too
Oh my God you're right. In that universe, Drew never moved out of Alabama.
Me: *sees this *

Humps and farts aggressively
The fact he made a "Sherman's March to the Sea" reference with Morel really did it for me. Thanks ISP.
The fact that Morrel's March to the see actually exists in the book series that this mod is based on is even crazier.
Books ("Southern Victory" by Harry Turtledove) are great, I read through all of them
Ya, the last 3 having to do with WW2 are the best ones. At least that's what I think.

its kinda surreal seeing somebody who knows nothing about the series play a mod based off of the series
I’ve read all the books. I wish the south gave him more of a fight. I saw one kid on another channel get trashed by the CSA, then Canada and Utah broke off, and he was freaking out!🤣
Yes, Harry Turtledove's American Empire series. Its both very good and a bit to long.
Without the USA, WW1 plays out different.
Black Communists, Northern USA allies with Bismark, France & England support the South...
WW1 was more of a 'Draw', with Germany not loosing, give or take...
I'm pretty sure it's called the Southern Victory series, American Empire is just one of the books in said series
"Irving Morrel's march to the sea" is shockingly accurate to how things happened in the books
People: Does this game have a modding community that makes sense?
Hoi4: We Don't do that here.
Only people who don't understand the lore would say that.
Didn't watch, opening too scary
Oh man! It's a shame this isn't functional yet - It's fairly faithful to the Timeline 161 books - the portrait of Featherston is excellent - just as "under the white sheet" as I imagined him when I read the books.
You should play Red Flood, that was a fun one a while back. I don't think you played it, but it's really cool.
It would be awesome to see Isorrow play Druidist France, that path was wack beyond belief when i played it
And he did.

"The Most Cursed Alternate History Mod Ever". Hey this isn't Red Flood.
Churchill also wrote about what if the South won the war. But in his version, The North and South both united with Britain for some reason. You can tell it’s just the wishful thinking of a Brit.
"Dixie delenda est" haha
Seeing the Confederacy Delenda Est brought me great joy.
It would would be better if we could legally nuk- I mean salt the dixie lands
Real talk, the alternate history book series, Southern Victory by Harry Turtledove, which this mod is based off of, is a long series but a very good book series if you enjoy alternate history
I was not ready for Dixie Delanda Est. That is one of the greatest fucking things I have ever seen
For those who didn't read the books and don't know the lore, here's the kind of general history of it: Lee defeated McClellan in 1862, got the south recognized by Britain and France, gained independence, with Sequoyah (Oklahoma) and Kentucky as Confederate states, with West Virginia staying in the US. Then the Confederacy later got Cuba from Spain and bought Mexican land (Getting Mexican land got them into another war with the US, a short one that they won). When WW1 rolls around, the Confederacy is in the Entente and the US in the Central Powers. The US and Germany wins the war, the US takes Canada and puppets Quebec, Hawaii (a British colony), and it carves a the state of Houston out of Texas, takes Sequoyah and Kentucky, and adds some of Virginia to West Virginia. Then it's just what you see here now after some Socialist US presidents and a long reign of presidential runnings by Jake Featherston
When I saw the name “featherstone” I just screamed “southern hitler!”

Fun fact, in this universe after losing the war and the 1864 he began to take an interest in workers rights, eventually intersecting with the works of Karl Marx. Eventually he declared himself a socialist and after trying and failing to get the Republican Party to champion workers rights left and helped form the Socialist Party. His ideas and thought would be known as Marxist-Lincolnism.

Many southerners attempted to establish nations centered around slavery in South America before the Civil War. These filibuster expeditions would have probably been the precursor to military campaigns by the confederacy had it survived. This is primarily due to the need to constantly expand slavery to sustain it.
Maybe they were so obsessed with LARPing as nobility that they started repeating the various Norman conquests, only this time as a farce.

2:32 While still a confederacy, there were plans to expand into Mexico, much of Central America, Cuba, and a number of Caribbean islands to create a slave superstate. The name of the plan was The Golden Circle. The idea was to not only be able to make money, buy also to compete against the industrial power of the north. Also to ensure that the practice of slavery is secure and unquestioned.
History will remember the remilitarization of Kentucky

I’ve loved this mod for a while and have been waiting for ISP
The thing with the names is probably because the south was the major English-speaking area and it leaving lead to the US becoming German, it was also probably because the US join the Central powers leading to a suppression of English unlike in our timeline where German was suppressed.
The mod is based on the book series mentioned in the video. (Very quick) rundown of the first book:
The North loses the Civil War since Britain and France threaten war if the North doesn't accept southern independence, a furious north seeking revenge declares war on the South Again in the 1880s, where the South is once again victorious after Britain and France this time openly intervene, this leads to the US becoming hellbent on revenge and allying with the Germans who need every ally they can get against the emerging Entente.
