There seems to be some confusion regarding Toyota Corolla and Chevy/Geo Prizm. They are mechanically identical cars, with only differences in style. They were built in the same factory as a joint partnership between Toyota and Chevy. I currently own a 95 Geo Prizm and a 99 Chevy prizm. Both engines are stamped "Toyota" and I am able to swap Corolla parts on both of them. If you are getting "shocked", chances are you are doing it wrong. Always pay close attention when fiddling with any electronics.
Thank you very much for this informative video! I have the same code, and can now buy the egr valve replacement at O'Reily's for $262 (automatic transmission). This way I don't have to pay someone a bunch first, to know this!
Hi, Thanks for the video, I have toyota corolla petrol 2002, one day the engine light came on and start loosing power (i had to high rev to drive the car), took to mechanic but the his computer cant read any code , not sure what else i can do. on low speed the engine light stays on but when i go high speed the engine light start fleshing and exhaust noise is a bit loud and feels like miss fire. any guess please?
My best guess. Clogged/faulty fuel injectors. You may want to run some fuel additive through the system, see if that helps. Otherwise you may need to figure out which injector it is and replace it. You can check this by pulling your spark plugs and comparing or using a multimeter to test each injector. videos i found: ruclips.net/video/Z5xWObLKWTo/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ImnIw3lQOnA/видео.html
Hey i swaped my car with same engine but it doesnt have a cheack engine light since the engine was swaped from 1.3 carburater to 4afe so how can i put a check engine light so i can see the codes plz help 😊
What if the engine light and O/D light just keep flashing at the same rate? I replaced the distributor on my Prizm, adjusted the timing to 10 degrees. The car fires right up and runs perfect but will drop RPM for an instance and the engine light flashes (almost like the ignition got cut for a split second). Can pull any codes?
I have 1995 corolla ,when i connect TE1 & E1 the service engine just flashing in constant timing my problem is after driving for seconds the service engine light comes on and comes off when I turned off the car what is the problem
I have the same problem with my 1995 corolla , it just flashing in constant timing service engine comes on immediately after moving for seconds what is the problem

With the 71 code, do you think it's possible for the smog test to not pass because of exessive NOX?

You can even go one step further and replace it yourself
