The amount of times the fucking fuel tank eats my shots on t34 and doesn't catch fire, is uncountable
The sad thing is, it sucks in game but irl the mere sound of a 17 pdr could send tigers packing
I still kill tigers in the firefly
Or, have them all shoot at the 17 pdr because the commander must have gone something like "MAKE IT STOP"

@ALSO-RAN ! If you want to argue that the Firefly and it's other Sherman counterparts would not get close enough to a Tiger or Panther to kill it, then you could also argue that the Tigers and Panthers were not even present after they broke down.
With regards to the killing of Michael Wittman in 1944, it wasn't one victory, a troop of Shermans were able to knock out more than one Tiger that day. Hell, if you look for more that five seconds you can learn that even the short 75mm Shermans were able to kill Tigers and Panthers. While yes, in a 1v1 tactical situation the Panthers and Tigers appear to hold all the cards. Tank combat doesn't work like that, and there are hundreds of different factors that benefit the Sherman.
@ALSO-RAN ! You do realise that in 1944 the Germans were on the defensive, and would thus be in a better position to fire first. And while yes, Firefly was an ergonomically atrocious tank, and I feel bad for the poor sods crewing it, but it's impact on the battlefield was that it could reliably knock out heavier German armour.
I was once playing the Tiger II P and saw a firefly (player controlled) and i let him shoot at me, then i told him i am sorry for him, closed my eyes, fired and when i saw him dead a tear came down my cheek, i told him again i am sorry, i had to do it to him

@@swanbaa Not so much OP as more balanced really, you won't be killing things as fast as Tigers or Panthers but you can still clean house if you know how to use it.
@@InitiateDee I said that when I was the biggest Wehraboo ever lol. Now that I actually have the Firefly and rank 4 Britain, I can say for certain it's not OP. I'd say it's the opposite actually, the Avenger tramples it in all qualities except a few minor ones.

The only reason some shermans don't have the extra armor plate on the front hull is because once upon a time, a british museum bought a firefly from the sweds or finish and they thought it was added on by them, so they removed it >:(

The firefly is an absolute beast post AP buff, it will one shot everything it faces, even tigers, and the travers was never bad... mobility is decent for a 4.7

I put a shot through the center of the upper front plate of a Tiger 1 at about 500m and it killed every crew member and traveled al the way back and was stopped by the engine. The 17pdr is a fucking beast.
And now AP is buffed and 17pdr is one of the most fun guns to play

Fun fact: The British 17-pounder could rape the frontal armor of a Tiger I from 1750 meters (while KwK 36 could do the same to allied tanks from 1800 meters.)

Or the gun dips up and down so much that you don't even get to shoot and if you are foolish enough to shoot before you wait for the gun to stop you can be sure you will miss.You miss or fail to disable the enemy you are dead, because brittish tanks don't like going backwards.

There needs to be at least one SPAA featured in a How-To on this channel. The low-tier ones are fun to run around with and blast tanks from behind because everywhere except the front gets penetrated by everything at those tiers.
Do an updated review with the buffed after penetration spalling effects.

Premium Firefly is also faster and significantly more maneuverable, since it's a converted base-model M4, while the tech tree version is a longer-hulled M4A4 with the lower-powered Chrysler multibank engine.
And the premium Firefly is nearly 6 tons lighter than the tech tree version, which gives it 12.7hp/t ratio which is 1.2hp/t more than the fully spaded tech tree variant.

Almost 4 years later and this beauty actually claps at its BR. I always get downtiered to 3.7 were I find myself nuking PzIVs and T-34s all the time.

This thing was great in my opinion back when it was first introduced as a priem, many Germans didn't recognize it as a firefly quite too late on RB battles.
I just watched this video and was so confused because it’s pretty broken for me now I love the firefly and the whole 4.7 lineup. Until I realised this is from like 4 years ago

Do the Archer now. It will be a semi Relief because most of the things you will kill are small and one shotable, or fat, and immovable when shot.

Well, right now after recent changes from gaijin,BR365A (and K) ricochete from frontal armor of sherman(s - most of them - M4A2, easy eight and firefly), so i guess they throw everything upside down, and jumbo 76 is currently best tank up to 6.0 BR.
Gotta say I really enjoyed the firefly (at 4.7 now) because it has a great gun compared to most other british tanks and can reliably kill tigers from the front.

I actually really like the Firefly/Tipo now. Sure it's still tall as fuck and can easily get donked, but sometimes the armour can save you if you're angled. And I usually use the Tipo, which is the worst of them all. Shot Mk 8 has been buffed in spalling and penetration, so it's a good tonk now.

Honestly I never had too many problems with the firefly. I enjoyed it a lot when I played it.
In the past it sucked. I managed to single handedly down a group of them alone. In the early T-34. The only way a Firefly got me was because hurhurhur no Free FPE.
Now the gun is actually good because the buff of solid shot AP.

Just because it could penetrate Tigers ( a very rare tank to encounter to begin with ) frontally ( also a rare occurance since most tank battles were very rare and when they happened it wasn't just two sides just traiding shots frontally with one another, but more like maneuvering, ambushing and firing from the sides ) doesn't mean it was a fantastic tank.
@Certified Teaboo I know brittish fought more often against Tigers, but even so, you have a grand total of 1300 tigers, out of those how many are on the East ? I would wager more than the Western Front. And from those in the West, you can bet a good number are elsewehre, some are destroyed, some await repairs, but yes, as you said you did fought more, but hey, you did had a great tank to counter it in the Firefly. I cannot deny the Firefly was feared by german tankers and rightfully so.

I like the firefly, I’m now used to being one shotted because all I play is british. I think it looks sexy and with experience and good playing i can get high kill games. It just takes time to get used to the shitty armour and to try and play around it.
the only good thing that i can say about sherman vc/ firefly is that gun goes boom boom. but if u get hit you goes boom boom

it alway look like german modules do not block fragments. (Sometime i bet the generator even more) while glorious russian stalinuim parts, block puny kapitalist shells. Fuel tank is simply more armor with hole inside for vodka. xaxa))))))
Well no, The T34 has a two big fuel tanks at the sides, which can block small caliber shells. However light you on fire. Whereas, most of the German tanks have a transmission at the front which can also block shells, however, it can't catch fire. German bias confirmed.

I don't see the problem, I love this tank, to me nothing else matters but the firepower
welp, from my experience, he just didn't play enought the firefly or the british tech tree

Robb Robb Use it more like a Tank Destroyer. If you get into a good spot it’s deadly. Make sure to only show your turret during a fight aswell, or angle. Also engage from distance.

To sum up; you can destroy a Tiger, but you ARE NOT a Tiger
try the KV-85, Its my best tank by a large margin. Better armor than a t-34-85 if angled and an amazing gun for its tier. I didn't have a problem with the speed, probably because I play AB pleb tier. Also, it has a really good turret.

This tank is now decent
But it still has some of its same downsides
The shells actually work better and can spread out in fragments, but not close to APHE
It still has the bouncy gun and bad traverse
But this tank can now one shot stuff and the Shot MK8 now has 190mm pen

British tanks get shat on in general, like when the driver of a tiger eats an apds round which would in reality rip through him and into the engine, or a IS2 being quicker than a Cenrurion
