Keeping it simple: when playing Shermans (not the jumbos)
1. Never expose your flanks, that's just paper armor.
2. Always be within cover so that you can take sneaky shots.
3. Only engage Tigers and Panthers frontally if you got the 76.
Most importantly:
4. Don't try Fury tactics. This ain't a movie
Ik this is a year old but, throwing smoke at tigers/panther's faces is a pretty good strat if you disable the tank's gun or movement. Assuming you don't die as soon as the enemy spots you, aim for the copula (most effective on earlier versions i.e panther d or tiger h1), the barrel, or worst case scenario the track. After firing your initial shell, switch to smoke and do your best to throw it onto the enemy. At most you have 40 seconds to maneuver before the enemy is operational. Either reposition for a cleaner shot, or mark it out to the team who either have better guns than you or are looking to lob 1000lb of explosive on a single tank.
Yes you are able to pen a tiger's front pretty effectively with the 76, but skilled germans know to angle their tanks making it near impossible to get a one shot kill. Everything above is assuming you are in a head on engagement. As the video states, the best way to play a sherman is to either use your team mates as bait or position yourself for flank shots.

@Blitz the 76mm was a lot more formidable when it came to penitration power. Meaning that armour the 75mm couldn't pen, the 76mm could easily do. This applied a lot to most german tanks

Using situational awareness and thinking ahead, having 2 76 shermans in your line up can easily grab you atleast 8 kills

2. nothing the 75 has can harm a tiger outside of 500m
3. ah yes the 76mm gun. it's best use is in flanking.
the Sherman is a poorly made light tank meant for flanking. it's only other purpose in war thunder is cannon fodder

Another thing with the 76, don't pull a Fury and charge a Tiger H1 to flank it if you don't need to. The 76 can pen the front of a Tiger H1 if they don't angle if I remember correctly. Have fun ruining noobs lives that rushed for the Tiger thinking it's invincible.
@TheGarbageGang shoot it, a 75 will go through the upper plate of a tiger if you're face to face point blank, just any angle or distance at all then you need the 75 APCR which the jumbo and the 4.0 sherman have and that struggles against angles aswell but can go through a tiger flat on under 500m, it's funny when you do it when he's pushing you thinking he's immortal you can take the driver, gunner, commander and engine out in one shot straight through the middle, aim too low and the transmission will eat everything though but tigers are easy, i'd rather face a tiger in a sherman 75 then a kv-1

About the M4A3 (105), if you are top tier you can pretty much play it as if you were using a KV-1, if lucky you can pretty much bounce most of enemy shots if you hace experience with the tank, that tank I hace around 200 games played and destroyed around 500 tanks

2:25, if you have a square hull like the early panzers or Tigers. Your armor is going to get fucked and punched through hard. Slanted hull armor is key since it will just bounce off or ricochet off. That's why many people choose the Panther or other german tank slanted hull tanks.
