@@cyberdroid2300 Surprisingly, the Sherman II always seems to give me some luck, even in a full uptier. I have no idea why lmao, it’s not like I’m good in it or understand how to use it properly, I just seem to do well with it.
the italian VC APDS is very useful in uptiers as it can pen panthers and jumbos through the hull which the shot mk8 cannot do, rarely a one shot but if you aim on the right you'll always get gunner/driver and can finish it in a second shot
IMO the Tipo IC and VC are actually fairly decent as someone who's played them a lot as an italian main, although tbf they're the only fireflies I've played, but from what I can tell they aren't any less mobile than the equivalent IC and VC fireflies in any other tree the IC feels decently more mobile than the VC to me, being 4 or 5 tons less iirc, and at that BR cast hull or not you aren't stopping pretty much anything, so it really only makes a difference against autocannons. It also trades out the ammo rack in the hull next to the driver back for extra crew member, so it's back up to 5 crew rather than the 4 fireflies normally have, so it's actually MORE survivable in my experience Meanwhile the VC trades a bit of mobility, the extra crew member, and .3 BR, for the APDS, which is nice to have as a backup in case you run into anything really heavy or get uptiered, and tbh I find it can still do decent when used at 6.3 due to the sabot
What i love about the Tipo is that it does have the rolled homogenous armor of the other shermans, the front plate was cut off and replaced with the cast sherman hull and you can see the welds on the sides of the vehicle. I think it's just funny seeing it.
The M4 IC is one of the best shermans IMO. I got my first nuke in it, in a lineup 2.0 BR's higher than its own. The gun can obliterate most enemies and makes short work of even the German big cats, and the armor is good enough to bounce weaker shots and not to mention, in case of penetration it's more survivable. On top of that, it has the better transmission casing and the armor is 63mm instead 51mm like on the Vc. It's also 4 tons lighter than the Vc and is shorter, allowing for better mobility. On the Vc, frontally there are more weakspots and it's much longer so it's easier to hit, aswell as the Ic having the cast hull front go around making a part of the side stronger, means the Ic *is* harder to penetrate. The Vc also doesn't offer the applique armor on the side. My K/D with it is about 2, which is pretty good, especially compared to the majority of my vehicles, with most hovering at about 1. The ONLY thing better in the Vc really is the APDS. Otherwise it's just worse in every way.
as a german main i love playing shermans , especially early ones because the armour is pretty good and you dont have to constantly think about angleing (ofc i know the sherman front armour is even better at a slight angle) my favourite sherman is the 105 sherman perfect counter to what i usually play.
@@AlRizz187 Play style wont change shit whether you get 1 shot or not. Generally speaking tanks such as the marder 2h with the russian 76 mm is gonna go through and one shot you. Same with any tank that uses APHE rounds that are either 75 mm or above.
@@wagonfixin Having increased vitality in the Shermans does (eventually) start making the crew survive much more bullshit, if nothing else, the driver and radio operator (so the tank can limp at the very least).
I actually got the Captured M4 Sherman when Gaijin made it briefly available to buy on the console stores, extremely fun machine and occasionally in realistic and sim battles when nobody is paying attention you find yourself in hilariously situations like when enemy Shermans think you're one of them
I disagree on the Skink, Yes, it's completely overtiered (and went up even further recently), but it's one of the only SPAA that is able to survive most strafing runs. Granted, it's not the best SPAA, but far from the worst. Also, its hull MG actually works, which should put it in S tier regardless of anything else.
Late reply, but as a cas shitter skinks are some of the most annoying to fight. Most aa (unless they're a good aa main) aren't too hard to take out with hvar splash from range or strafing when they're distracted. Skink denies both of those though, and if they position properly (not in spawn) they can shut off a decent chunk of the map.

Probably because I played it before solid shot got nerfed, but I loved the firefly, I found it to be the perfect balance of mobility, armour and firepower at its BR. Now it’s likely to be facing Panthers and Tigers more often it might struggle
My favourite Sherman is the Trzyniec. It's the first tank I ace crewed. (The second being the tech tree firefly.) Can pen anything it faces frontally with the exception of maybe jagdpanzers. An Absolute monster with the turret traverse and reload speed.
I can understand it, low Br HEAT is so hit or miss, quite literally. Like you'll hit a lamp bracket on the enemy tank and suddenly the whole round has disappeared into the shadow realm. Couple that with a long reload, and terrible suspension that takes ages to stop the tank from rocking, you'd expect it to be a sniping tank. But the gun has really bad ballistics and the round will detonate on a random bush or fencepost. The only really good thing about it is the mantlet.
@Deuce_and_a_half The heat can comfortably 1-2 shot every tank it meets The ballistics? It's round is comparable in speed to an IS2 Survivability? Played hull down, you'll always survive getting shot at and the depression is quite good. M51 is easily one of the strongest machines at its BR
the only thing I don’t agree with here is the m4a2s placement, in my opinion its an easy S tier as it performs so well in CQC I’ve even gotten games where I get 15+ kills in one life.
i don't think that the 105 is the king anymore.. now with it moving up to 3.0 it gets uptierd to 3.7 a bit to much, where it becomes very meh, also using the gun is quite tricky at times because of the traverse but also because of the shells it fires, the HE and HEAT are not one shot killers on just about any medium or heavy tank and with the long reload that will get you killed quite often. Still great tho, insane armor for the br and great speed and manouverability (for beeing bacicly a heavy at 3.0)
that is crazy how 2 identical Shermans Italian firefly and British are not on the same tier, honestly looking like a skill issue from author as Sherman Firefly is probably one of the best Shermans in the game
I have the german sherman and I must say this tank is a lot of fun :D! Having the german 7,5 cm guns on YOUR side ( mostly ) makes the game way better ;D
The standard American M4A1 can be an absolute beast sometimes. Its mobility makes it great for capping points and street slugging, but the absolute chef's kiss of this vehicle is its astounding ability to somehow bounce shots that I quite frankly have no idea how it has any rhyme or reason to; despite having the cast hull. Even some of the later war Shermans don't stand up to as much abuse as this fascinating little critter does! Pairing it up with the M24 and a P-47 or F4F for air is genuinely some of the most fun I have had with this game. I know, fun and WarThunder are two words that seldom go together!
I always find it questionable when good players play low br As a new player I want to learn the game and not be thrown in a pot with 10 lvl 100s and 4 lvl 5s
my favorate sherman is the m4a4 sa50 because of that penetration and of course i used the m4a4 to research into rank 4 because its so nice for a 3.7 edit: i took it up to 6.7 with the amx 13 and amx m4 before i got the french m26 since it has the same gun as the amx i was able to kill quite a few enemies with it
I love the tier list, although I do disagree with a few of your points. The biggest one being is how you add the FL10 but just a few moments prior say you won’t include things like the M4/T26 because it features another tanks hull.
My favorite is the M4A1. I use it on almost all of my lineups. Even on 5.7 with the Jumbo because it's still a good AA. At least for me I usually get 2-3 plane kills.
in defense of the Calliope: if you shoot a volley of 30 rockets or more before getting into battle and essentially empty the upper part of the rocket rack, you have way more survivability than a regular Sherman, as enemies will most likely try to ammo rack you, only to be soothing at the empty part of the rocket rack, essentially giving you a dummy target for them that can buy you the time necessary to aim and shoot. Now more than ever its convenient to play this way as the Calliope is given the ammo box to refill enough rockets on the go
The 3.3 M4A1 is possibly my favorite tank in the game right now, I would maybe place it S tier. It's such a capable tank, and the fact that it can go with the F6F (which just recently got even more powerful) is just brilliant, plus the M5A1 and M4A3(105) can hold their own at that br to fill out the lineup. The 105 used to be super OP and made 2.7 possibly the most fun, but it's still pretty good especially decked out with bumblebee stripes and fun decorations. I haven't played the higher rank USA Shermans as much in recent years but occasionally I do and am pleasantly surprised
The M51 is really fun to play and the HEAT shells can be a problem sometimes however 400MM of pen at any distance. Decent reload, turret traverse, mobility, and the protection can be ok.
I actually find the M-51 to be more fun in uptiers to the 7.7-8.3 br range cause you get to fight russian IS tanks who think their invincible only to be surprised when something actually pens them.
I'm quite new to the game and only have 2 Shermans unlocked. What I will say is the last match I played I was able to absolutely spank some M24s in my 105 Sherman, and that made me very happy.
First vid I see of this channel. Literally found it 20 minutes ago but that manscaped add. That tank covered in the bush reminding me of me balls. That deserves a sub.
The Ram tank was built on a very old Sherman chassis. Originally named the Kangaroo, it actually didn’t come standard with a turret. It was an open-top personnel carrier. Used by Canadian ground forces during and even years after wwii.
For everyone out there who’s confused by the WT Mobile M4 Sherman. It is the EXACT SAME thing as the tech tree M4, down to every single spec. The WT Mobile tank doesn’t belong at F tier. He put his personal preference behind his decision. WT.M M4 belongs along side its tech tree counterpart M4. I can understand why people would find it frustrating that you have to play the mobile game to unlock it but that doesn’t make it bad, that just makes it annoying. I do not like it when people disregard or spite something just because it’s outside their preference or comfort zone. WT.M M4 belongs in B-tier of C-tier along with its tech tree cousin, M4. Good day, all! Happy hunting.
18:38 if you bounce a shell off the top of the mantle and it hits the rockets and destroys it, it will always explode cuz the game will now think that’s a internal ammo rack
its genuinely surprising to me how many people dont notice that the M4A1, the A1 76, and the Sherman II all have different armor values / castings and just lump them into being all the same amount of bad which they arent
It's funny how different the same equipment behaves for different players. Cause I find cast hull Shermans super survivable. So much so that I can regularly bounce panther 75's and tiger 88's. Another example is APDS; I get AMAZING results when they pen
Hands down my favorite sherman is the 76 Jumbo, I was never a fan of it's BR increase but whenever I get tired of playing top tier I go down to 6.3 and remind the german mains why the Jumbo is at 6.3. Such a fun tank to play tbh.
I call the M4A2 the “commando” Sherman with how much kit it’s got, smoke shells and smoke grenades I’ve hidden entire friendly groups in while tricking an enemy bomber to drop a payload into a blank smoke field.
I do wish you had mentioned one of the largest strengths about the Italian and German 4.0 shermans. Being on the axis side of realistic and sim battles, the armor is comparatively much stronger than the allief equivalents. The biggest issue for 4.0 shermans is italian and german long guns so being on the same team as them and only facing far less penetrating American and Russian tanks is an amazing benefit.
Zoltan the apds is basically a secondary munition, like HE, so take a few like 6-8 for those up tiers when you run into heavier armor the Mk.8 might not be able to work against.
They recently upgraded the Italian m4 hybrid so it got much better front hull armor, even though it's cast and rounded. My favourite Sherman to play by now. Especially that it has a very effective Italian premium set up at the 3.7 br
the firefly at least for me has always been a monster. i continued using it until 6.7 when it got replaced by the tortoise. the 17 pounder for me has always been reliable even with apds on the Challenger.
playing France for the first time, i got my first taste of the sherman tanks and the M4A1 and the M4A3 105 have been amazing experiences so far. the M4A3 105 is such a fun tank to play slapping vehicles with high explosive, and the M4A1 is just incredible. having every nice commodity in a tank at 3.3 (good gun with aphe, stabilizer, .50 cal mg) it’s just a wonderful experience and i got a 12 kill game using it. i’m very excited to try the other shermans in the tech tree especially the SA50 variant
As British man I am here to say they yes, we do have the water on the front of our tank so we can make tea 🫖, because all we must do is use the boiler to heat up the water and the tea bags are kept inside for good measures
I have the calliope and I love it. It helped me get thru 3.7-4.0 battle ratings because I was always being shoved into battles against KVs and T-35s losing SL every fucking match
The M4A3E2 Jumbo sherman is my favorite of both verisons of them, one time I got a 10 kill overkill against german players at 5.3 with the 75 mm, it was totally worth it.

@@funny_joke_goes_here4406that’s because Gaijin made solid shot practically useless, when it was just as good as APHR irl
@@cyberdroid2300 Surprisingly, the Sherman II always seems to give me some luck, even in a full uptier. I have no idea why lmao, it’s not like I’m good in it or understand how to use it properly, I just seem to do well with it.
Same with me. It’s the first tank i was able to actually stop shells from penetrating me
the italian VC APDS is very useful in uptiers as it can pen panthers and jumbos through the hull which the shot mk8 cannot do, rarely a one shot but if you aim on the right you'll always get gunner/driver and can finish it in a second shot
IMO the Tipo IC and VC are actually fairly decent as someone who's played them a lot as an italian main, although tbf they're the only fireflies I've played, but from what I can tell they aren't any less mobile than the equivalent IC and VC fireflies in any other tree
the IC feels decently more mobile than the VC to me, being 4 or 5 tons less iirc, and at that BR cast hull or not you aren't stopping pretty much anything, so it really only makes a difference against autocannons. It also trades out the ammo rack in the hull next to the driver back for extra crew member, so it's back up to 5 crew rather than the 4 fireflies normally have, so it's actually MORE survivable in my experience
Meanwhile the VC trades a bit of mobility, the extra crew member, and .3 BR, for the APDS, which is nice to have as a backup in case you run into anything really heavy or get uptiered, and tbh I find it can still do decent when used at 6.3 due to the sabot

You don’t have to think about angling cause everything’s just gonna one shot you anyway 🤣
@wagonracing8538 nope havent been one shot by any tank other than he slingers. You probably havent played it or you play it wrong.
@@AlRizz187 Play style wont change shit whether you get 1 shot or not. Generally speaking tanks such as the marder 2h with the russian 76 mm is gonna go through and one shot you. Same with any tank that uses APHE rounds that are either 75 mm or above.
the sherman 105 is criminally undertiered.
Agreed. Skink, when used properly as a AA vehicle, is a fun little thing to play :)
@@Meczyk ironically the skink irl never got to be used for it's intended role lol

The Italian Firefly is built on an Composite M4 so it's IC, not VC
Probably because I played it before solid shot got nerfed, but I loved the firefly, I found it to be the perfect balance of mobility, armour and firepower at its BR. Now it’s likely to be facing Panthers and Tigers more often it might struggle
My current (RB) kill record is 15 Kills in the 3.3 M4A1, the 50cal and stabilized 75 go though pretty much anything, I would put it in S tier
My favourite Sherman is the Trzyniec. It's the first tank I ace crewed. (The second being the tech tree firefly.) Can pen anything it faces frontally with the exception of maybe jagdpanzers. An Absolute monster with the turret traverse and reload speed.
5:20 ANOTHER THING I CAN'T SHOW YOU
A R E M Y B A L L S
M51 being so low is CRIMINAL
I can understand it, low Br HEAT is so hit or miss, quite literally. Like you'll hit a lamp bracket on the enemy tank and suddenly the whole round has disappeared into the shadow realm. Couple that with a long reload, and terrible suspension that takes ages to stop the tank from rocking, you'd expect it to be a sniping tank. But the gun has really bad ballistics and the round will detonate on a random bush or fencepost.
The only really good thing about it is the mantlet.
@Deuce_and_a_half The heat can comfortably 1-2 shot every tank it meets
The ballistics? It's round is comparable in speed to an IS2
Survivability? Played hull down, you'll always survive getting shot at and the depression is quite good.
M51 is easily one of the strongest machines at its BR
This whole tier list is pretty criminal, I'm flabbergasted at 70% of the ranks here even with the patches
@bloomgaming6480 I looked the guy up I think, hes like, below 1 career kd in ground rb
Dude is horrible at the game
Skink is amazing. If AA struggles against ground vehicles it doesn't mean that AA is bad.
It's a friking AA after all🙄
the only thing I don’t agree with here is the m4a2s placement, in my opinion its an easy S tier as it performs so well in CQC I’ve even gotten games where I get 15+ kills in one life.
Legit my favourite and most played vehicle of all of War Thunder
Nobody is talking about the advertising, best ad i’ve seen in a while, good combo of comedy and just all around great information. Love it
Just about to say that but that tank with the bushes joke was funny af
i don't think that the 105 is the king anymore.. now with it moving up to 3.0 it gets uptierd to 3.7 a bit to much, where it becomes very meh, also using the gun is quite tricky at times because of the traverse but also because of the shells it fires, the HE and HEAT are not one shot killers on just about any medium or heavy tank and with the long reload that will get you killed quite often. Still great tho, insane armor for the br and great speed and manouverability (for beeing bacicly a heavy at 3.0)
I find using it like you would a M10 it works rather well.
that is crazy how 2 identical Shermans Italian firefly and British are not on the same tier, honestly looking like a skill issue from author as Sherman Firefly is probably one of the best Shermans in the game
sir they are not the same
Yeah I agree, as soon as I saw him put the firefly so low I stopped watching.
I have the german sherman and I must say this tank is a lot of fun :D! Having the german 7,5 cm guns on YOUR side ( mostly ) makes the game way better ;D
R3 best all around tanks🤌

M4A5 was just an american nameing system for Ram which is based on Grant tank which is M3 Lee
The skink would be S-tier if it went to the US since it was Americans who wanted it
Did anybody else notice He said M4a3 76 w when he was meant to say M4a1 76w
I always find it questionable when good players play low br
As a new player I want to learn the game and not be thrown in a pot with 10 lvl 100s and 4 lvl 5s
now dont get me wrong here I find it ok at like br 4 but I sadly see a lot of people in br 1-3 who completely destroy new players
This is why its so fun using the US tech tree at br 3 to 6.
Have a problem? We have a sherman for that!

my favorate sherman is the m4a4 sa50 because of that penetration and of course i used the m4a4 to research into rank 4 because its so nice for a 3.7
edit: i took it up to 6.7 with the amx 13 and amx m4 before i got the french m26 since it has the same gun as the amx i was able to kill quite a few enemies with it
20:00 the jumbo 76 i have been very recently getting up-tiered to 7.0 and sometimes 7.3 it's to the point where I refuse to play it now
I love the tier list, although I do disagree with a few of your points. The biggest one being is how you add the FL10 but just a few moments prior say you won’t include things like the M4/T26 because it features another tanks hull.
“They’re an Invasive species.”
- Some guy on Zenturion
The M4 105 may be the first Sherman you unlock, but it is sure fun to use (besides the reload time and gun movement)
9:17 zoltan just gave him a colonoscopy
“another thing I can’t show you, *MY BALLS* “ has me dead🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think you forgot to add 1 tank that's incredibly good. The T14
The T14 isn’t a Sherman. It’s a totally unrelated development that just happens to look similar since it follows the same design philosophy.

First vid I see of this channel. Literally found it 20 minutes ago but that manscaped add. That tank covered in the bush reminding me of me balls. That deserves a sub.
My favorite Sherman? Impossible decision. They’re all my favorite. The Sherman is the best tank of WW2. There’s no comparison
Honestly I got it on my alt that I use for the US and I absolutely love it.

M18 should be at the honorable mention cuz it has a sherman chassis

its genuinely surprising to me how many people dont notice that the M4A1, the A1 76, and the Sherman II all have different armor values / castings and just lump them into being all the same amount of bad which they arent

The m4a3 105 was the first Sherman I got and I loved it, it was almost impenetrable from the front
my favorite sherman is probably the m4a3e8 sherman
i am defiantly a Sherman fanatic
It's funny how different the same equipment behaves for different players. Cause I find cast hull Shermans super survivable. So much so that I can regularly bounce panther 75's and tiger 88's. Another example is APDS; I get AMAZING results when they pen
The French M4A1 with an auto loader is an absolute BEAST. I paired it with both EBRs and absolutely run lobbies.
The easy 8 sherman is still.my favorite. Think its the m4a3e8 hvss. That 76 mixed with a stabilizer and upgraded suspension is just a chefs kiss imo

That track armour also makes the IC Firefly into a VC,apparently^^

Hands down my favorite sherman is the 76 Jumbo, I was never a fan of it's BR increase but whenever I get tired of playing top tier I go down to 6.3 and remind the german mains why the Jumbo is at 6.3. Such a fun tank to play tbh.
I call the M4A2 the “commando” Sherman with how much kit it’s got, smoke shells and smoke grenades I’ve hidden entire friendly groups in while tricking an enemy bomber to drop a payload into a blank smoke field.
Completely agree with your list! Love the shout-outs to the planes as well
Sherman are very fun to play in especially 105 Sherman
Nice video man!
15:00 can confirm, a Sheman hull once ate my 128mm AP at center mass
playing France for the first time, i got my first taste of the sherman tanks and the M4A1 and the M4A3 105 have been amazing experiences so far. the M4A3 105 is such a fun tank to play slapping vehicles with high explosive, and the M4A1 is just incredible. having every nice commodity in a tank at 3.3 (good gun with aphe, stabilizer, .50 cal mg) it’s just a wonderful experience and i got a 12 kill game using it. i’m very excited to try the other shermans in the tech tree especially the SA50 variant
As British man I am here to say they yes, we do have the water on the front of our tank so we can make tea 🫖, because all we must do is use the boiler to heat up the water and the tea bags are kept inside for good measures
I have the calliope and I love it. It helped me get thru 3.7-4.0 battle ratings because I was always being shoved into battles against KVs and T-35s losing SL every fucking match
gotta love being a proud owner of Herman the German Sherman from the OG closed Beta
honestly the M-51 is probably my favorite sherman due to the fact it melts everything and has enough pen to keep in a line up outside of it's tier.
my best sherman ive played in the entire game is the M-51, it is such a great vehicle at its BR and it's gotten me one time a almost 15 kill game!
I remember the good old day when us 4.7 line up used to be m4a1 76 w, jumbo 75 and m6a1 with the p47d28, trully a bygone era
The M4A3E2 Jumbo sherman is my favorite of both verisons of them, one time I got a 10 kill overkill against german players at 5.3 with the 75 mm, it was totally worth it.
Gotta love the french jumbo. So much fun.
