For those wondering if your Seluvis is dead, you used the potion elsewhere, killed dung eater or finished his quest then yeah you gotta wait for NG+ to get him as a summon!
If you're in NG+ and have starlight shards, just go to your inventory and 'leave' them and pick them back up. Worked for me to trigger picking up a shard for Seluvis.
@@ColdEyesProductions you cant give the fingerblade to ranni if you want to progress his full questline, you can get the item as long you dont turn it in.
You might want to mention that you shouldn't progress Ranni's questline if you want to get this because the Puppeteer dies after reaching a specific part of the quest.
Be extremely careful when fighting him in the outer moat. There is a giant crab hidden there and if you kill dung eater and die to crab before being able to pick up reward you just lose it.
If anyone can’t summon a puppet near him because you already fought the dragon, just go to another location, summon a puppet, then fast travel back to him and you can progress the dialogue
@@nobody883 imo if your a mage black knife tiche is useless, try getting dung eater or black flame monk amon he constantly goes for agro but has short range. Cleanrot knight finlay might also be better for getting agro while having more range
Some very specific sequence stuff that needs to be included as many have said: 1) You cannot at any time prior to getting the dung eater puppet turn in the knife Ranni wanted you to get from Nokron. Ranni knows Selevis was going to betray her and offs him once she has the item. 2) You must find at least one Starlight Shard after you buy the first puppet. Does not matter if you have 10 in your inventory, you must loot a shard somewhere in the world. You also must use the puppet you bought. Otherwise, you will not be given the dialogue for a "Special Puppet". 3) If you happen to have bought both puppets AND given the potion to dug eater, you can go to where vendor Pidia is in the church nearby (drop down from the cliff and jump through hole in roof). When you loot her corpse for the bell bearing, she will have whatever puppet that was in puppet lab that you created (dung eater or Nephali Loux) But only if you had bought both the other puppets. Otherwise, you will just get the other puppet of the initial two.
Damn i gave that potion to the knight in the room behind the reaper looking mf. And yh i already did give ranni the knife. So i have to start ng+ i guess to get it☹️

You don't need to buy all the spells to trigger the puppet speech, just go discover the puppet lab. Also you can acquire the Dung eater armour if you kill him after giving him the potion.
I killed him after I gave him the potion waited about 40 seconds. He wasn't down in the puppet pit though will he still show up as a purchase able summon?
This sword is very interesting. Each enemy killed while wielding it gives you FP (buffed or not). The buff itself raises your attack power, gives you more defense, AND gives your R2 (PS5) a new snazzy attack combo.
I heard you do NOT need to get two shards to access Lyndell: Use the trapped chest in Weeping Peninsula, travel to Lyndell's divine bridge, go to the elevator and use "taunter's tongue" to bait an invader in your world: he will have to trigger the elevator to reach you, thus unlocking the area. Sure, you need to beat the op invades in Roundtable to get the tongue, but he can be cheesed with a flail's ash of war.
I finished the Ranni questline before doing the Dung Eater quests so Seluvis was dead by the time I could give Dung Eater the potion which made it so that I couldn't give it to him. I don't know if it's a bug since I still have the potion, but I suggest doing this to Dung Eater before finishing the Ranni questline.
Same. I was in the room with Dung Eater in the sewers, and the option to give him the potion never appeared. Went back to Seluvis, and he was dead. Doing it before Ranni's questline next time :/
@@MrGamerdude1 as long as you don't give the fingerprint blade, its fine. That's what kills him. (aka the item you pick up after you go to the new zone that appears after you take out Radahn)
My dung eater is still alive but yeah Seluvis is dead and never got the potion. Hope there i a patch to get this still. Also my patches straight up disappeared from the game.
Tip: If you want to get his ending, do this: Before giving him the potion, give him the 5 seedbed curses, followed by the potion. Reload the area and you get his set too, plus his mending rune

Once you give him the potion,you can then kill him,he'll still end up as a puppet and you can take his weapon and armour. However,this worked for me on release,just check if it hasn't been patched before you try it.
Good advice i kinda figured out, if you’re lower level going into this or just have a weaker effect on dung eater, you can easily cheese him by having him and the giant crab chase you, then have the crab go and hit him until he dies. Just try to roll and keep running obviously

Just want to mention even if you finished the quest early and then do this you can still get the summon by examining his corpse. I just did it on my first playthrough. TY for help!
@@ianladenheim2448 Mimic still the best. It is much more versatile. You can gear him to be whatever you want. Tank, DPS, heal bot, anything really. No dung eater can beat that.
i have been using mimic on my mage and it's trash now, i dont what they did to it now but mine just walks forward not casting spells. before it still casted spells and was doing ok with the damage nerf now it's fucking awful why im going with the dung eater now
Something to note: if you want to get into Lyndell without fighting the sentinel, enter through the deep root depths. I haven't done any of Ranni's quest and managed to get into the upper ainsel river without giving Ranni the finger slayer blade by going through the Siofra river aqueduct. Once you get to the deep root basin, you can beat the deathbed companions and there's a gate that sends you into Lyndell. Just gotta take a really weird route lol
You can recreate his whole loadout via mimic, the sword and shriek are obviously from the sword of milos and the "ranged attack" is an item, i think its from morgot's remembrance. So can make a buffed up version of him, to be exact you can make a buffed up version of most puppet ashes with the mimic
Dong Eater has a unique shout when performing the Shriek of Milos WA, and I'm sad summons don't make vocal sounds because I so wanted his bone-chilling scream everytime I fought alongside him.

If anyone is having trouble with Seluvis not giving you the option to talk about his puppets: try going back to his hidden room and interact with the message next to the illusory wall and then talk to him again. Edit: I also found out that Seluvis is not offering you to buy any more dolls untill you found Lusat in his cave and then talked to Sellen.
RIP for all of us who missed getting it lol. I'm guessing once we've done Ranni's quest it's too late? I also killed dung eater in the sewer bc he was already aggro lol. Good thing there's NG+ to look forward to
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I went back to selvius tower after doing the quest and there was either his items with dung eater or a bell bearing & I was able to buy dung eater from the twin maiden husks. Not 100% sure cuz it was a while ago but it's worth a shot to go back and check!

Got my dung eater puppet!! And I don't even feel bad about turning him into a puppet cos he's a real piece of work if you listen to his dialog! Now I just need to get Black Knife Tishe and Mimic Tear to complete my summon collection!
I feel like they nerfed Mimic to lead people to the LOATHSOME DUNG EATER as the DPS summon. Given that's he's one of the Elden Lord candidates it makes sense.
Mimic works perfectly fine for me. I put the tanking talisman on him and give him a attacking build and I summon him take the tanking talisman off and I do work. He keeps agro he still drinks juice and does his thing. I give him great swords. I just feel the mimic has more versatility

Hey thanks for the guide. But I would also like to mention that you need to talk to Blaidd -> Seluvis -> Sellen the Witch ->Blaidd after starting the Ranni quest-line (i.e. progress the quest until Blaidd invites you castle Redmane to fight Radahn) in order for the "obtain a puppet" option to appear in Seluvis' dialogue. I followed this guide without progressing the Ranni questline and the option to buy puppets didn't appear.
There’s a huge crab that spawns when you fight the Dung Eater, I had to basically keep running and dodging both of them but every time to crab attacked me he damaged the dung eater and basically killed the dung eater for me just by running away and dodging it might work for you but if not try to stay on the north side of that area cause the crab spawned on the south
This video is heartbreaking. I just advanced nepheli's questline last weekend and I gave the potion to Gideon. I'm guess this means I'm S.O.L. as far as getting this summon. 😭

Great guide & helped me get my favourite ,& go to, summon; Dung eater. As you said, super tanky, debuff enemies & builds bleed. Perfect for my arcane build, but would also be great for ranged builds due to his aggressiveness drawing agro which combined with his survivability allows for plenty of time for casting, buffing & healing etc. The high fp summons cost reflects his value (& can be offset via the physicks flask if you lack the fp).
Props if you where the first to figure this out. Man the people that play soulsgame and figure these types of stuff for the first time are brilliant. Never in my mind I would've thought about this possibility. Thank's this is going to help my bleed build.
Really disappointing to have found out this needed to be done before Ranni's questline 😭 I could never find his tower and really didn't think he was important. I say the makers of Elden ring should make it possible where there's a way to still get his potion when he's dead. Perhaps in his secret ruin room?
@@thethethehthehthe While I don't completely disagree with you, I do feel like this quest could have benefited from one or two additional opportunities to give the player options and/or guidance, as there's almost no indication whatsoever that Seluvis (or at least his puppet, if you want to be technical) was at risk of death following the return of the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni and it completely ruins your ability to get two very powerful summons and the immensely useful Magic Scorpion Charm. Not to mention that it's extremally easy to complete Nokron before you even enter Lyndell, much less find the Dung Eater. Even compared to other vague and challenging quests, like Ranni's own questline -- which takes the player all over the map yet can be navigated effectively through listening to NPCs and paying attention to item descriptions -- this one stands out as being outright illogical and nearly impossible to be successful in without relying on a guide or sheer coincidence. I'm not saying that Fromsoft's traditional method of quest design is bad, just that this instance could probably have been handled a little differently. It just comes across as too arbitrarily difficult, even by their own standards.
they did this in Sekiro. DS3 had a way to get missed items too i thought. Been a long time. No reason why they can’t put in other ways to obtain items after the game is cleared. Doesn’t change any of the exploring of the game. I explored like crazy. just did rannis quest first. missed the ashes. getting them somehow in end game doesn’t change how i explored the game versus following markers. A lot of things that were missable in early games weren’t necessarily meant to be missable. that’s why we have items like bell bearings do you don’t get locked out of NPC shops. because npcs and their drops were very problematic in older games.
i dont know if any one knows this but the mimic summon uses whatever items you leave in usable inventory and it gets all the charms you put on, you can give him regen with frost grease on a bleed weapon...
I used banished knight oleg up until the snowfields and now I think the dungeatwr quest is my main priority! Im not a noob I just prefer the easy option if it's attainable through reasonable means so this seems like a legit end game summon to help take some aggro of bosses so I can at pelt them with glintstone. Will miss oleg though. What an OG!
Doh, missed out on this just 2 days ago when I gave the potion to Gideon... when I checked the Wiki on Seluvis's Potion at that point, this wasn't even mentioned guess the contributors also didn't know then. A bit disappointed but I do appreciate the RPG aspect of this, decisions which actually matters and helps to promote multiple playthroughs. In stark contrast to some other "RPG" like Cyberpunk 2077 which seeming give you choices but they all result in pretty much the same outcome.

I don’t know about outcomes but Cyberpunk is one of the rare games where the last missions are completely different depending on the path you take. In one you assault the enemy tower with a tank with the Aldecaldos and end up one of them, in one you become a triad suit and your love interest dumps you, in another you play as Johnny and give the kid your guitar. It was very different to me. More than the Witcher 3’s endings actually. Plus you got to play through them. Not many games do that.
Tiche is still my go to, tiche destroyed elden beast on my first playthrough was pretty amazing to see, now my Barry the chopper build mimic is my go too
Note that when you have done all the steps, and he still doesn´t offer you the extra option to buy more puppets, you first have to rest at a site of grace!
Please note that if you release him, he will kill prawn man before Invading you. Loosing the 20% physical resist crabs is a big hit so stack those sky high before releasing Dungy.
I'm about to wrap up my first playthrough and I played blind as much as possible so on my NG+ run I'm going to look up everything so I don't screw up most the quests this time.
Is anyone else ridiculously excited for future DLC? New summons, weapons, and bosses. Maybe proper duel arena but most importantly I wanna fight GIGA Jar.
Wish we could administer the potion to any other NPC as well. To Blaidd when he is struggling to control his rage. To Patches when he is injured after you killed Rykard (for fun). To Alexander the Jar when he invites you to fight him. And some more.
Maybe I progressed to far and did something wrong? But I had seluvis potion in my inventory already. I had had one option was to give him the curse. I returned to Seluvis and he offered puppets and looked dead on the floor 😅
Yea, same happened to me.It's bullshit that you can't give him the potion that's in your inventory. I didn't even complete Ranni's questline yet, just gave her the dagger and got her to move from her tower and Seluvis dies and breaks it.
You have named this video wrong, it should be how to get him EARLY! i missed him on my first play through, due to attacking him in the dungeon and then I was extremely gutted to see I had to be near finished the game to unlock him, this however it much earlier!!!! THANK YOU
I have a question, when I go to talk to him while he is tied in his chair, I don't get the option to give him the seluvis potion, even though I have it in my inventory. Any reason for this?

My Seluvis is dead already lmao. I had Ofnir poison him with his own poison. He was a douchebag anyways… mimic tear and marionette ashes go a long way too. Perhaps even further than the dung eater
Another tip, after giving the potion to the dung eater, you can hit him once and you will receive all of this armor and then just simply proceed with.. you get the armor, you get the puppet
Be careful not to progress Rani's storyline before you get the puppet from Seluvis. Mild spoiler: Seluvis drops dead past a certain milestone in the Ranni quest and you can't get puppets from him anymore, so make sure you get Dung Eater first if that's what you're going for
@@Risingshinigami00 oh yeah he'll be long dead by then. For me he got killed around the time i killed Radan and got the knife back. Something between Radan and the fingerslayer blade triggers the kill from what i can tell, but idk which plot beat triggers his deaths, so i'd recomend staying away from the whole questline until you got what you needed from seluvis, and then speedrun that section
It’s ok to give him Seluvis’ potion then. I’ll just NG+ to complete Dung Eater’s quest. Getting all of his Sea Bed’s Curse was insane. I spent 1.5 hours just to find the 3rd one in Volcano Manor. No thank you!
I have 3 puppets from seluvis to choose from for free. Jarwight, finger maiden Therolina and Delores sleeping arrow puppet. I didn’t give the potion to dung eater tho as I’d already given to someone else I think the quest npc but I’m not sure. Il have to get the dung eater summons on ng+.

Not very helpful. Maybe the worst of your videos. You don't caution against advancing Ranni's questline, and your instructions about entering the East Capitol Ramparts are worse than vague.
I just got him on my Mage playthrough. Such a godsend. I actually like him more than Tiche. He just stays on target tanking hits and giving damage, too. He has yet to die in a boss fight.
Just a heads up the mixed Physick trick will work as long as your FP bar isn't almost empty, you don't need anywhere near enough to summon but you still need SOME. No idea why it works this way
If the Blackguard is in the outer moat selling crab, then you you have to exhaust his dialogue 3 times. Rest at a nearby Grace each time, and then return. After you grant his wish, then you will be invaded. Get ready!
Tbh.. mimic with river blood + goat set is bleeding god. But this is also good But the good fact, you can summon a blood loss npc while youre not in blood build
I don't think it's about using the potion elsewhere as I never did, it is quite probably due to finishing Ranni's questline first as Seluvis will be dead when you do iirc.
Didn't pick him up until ng8, and unfortunately he was a let down. Doesn't do any damage to speak of, and dies quite quickly, usually within first phase of the major bosses. Mimic tear ftw :) Though dung eater is quite the legend haha

The place where you have to watch out for the attacking hands. These hands give 3 level 7 somber smithing stones, if you can take them.
You can just go into the cell and shoot them with a bow, thats what I did and ot worked flawlessly

Tip: If you want to get his ending, do this: Before giving him the potion, give him the 5 seedbed curses, followed by the potion. Reload the area and you get his set too, plus his mending rune

Just a tip to save time: you can drop a shard and pick it back up to trigger progression.
Once you give him the potion,you can then kill him,he'll still end up as a puppet and you can take his weapon and armour. However,this worked for me on release,just check if it hasn't been patched before you try it.

Good advice i kinda figured out, if you’re lower level going into this or just have a weaker effect on dung eater, you can easily cheese him by having him and the giant crab chase you, then have the crab go and hit him until he dies. Just try to roll and keep running obviously

i have been using mimic on my mage and it's trash now, i dont what they did to it now but mine just walks forward not casting spells. before it still casted spells and was doing ok with the damage nerf now it's fucking awful why im going with the dung eater now
Something to note: if you want to get into Lyndell without fighting the sentinel, enter through the deep root depths. I haven't done any of Ranni's quest and managed to get into the upper ainsel river without giving Ranni the finger slayer blade by going through the Siofra river aqueduct. Once you get to the deep root basin, you can beat the deathbed companions and there's a gate that sends you into Lyndell. Just gotta take a really weird route lol
You can recreate his whole loadout via mimic, the sword and shriek are obviously from the sword of milos and the "ranged attack" is an item, i think its from morgot's remembrance. So can make a buffed up version of him, to be exact you can make a buffed up version of most puppet ashes with the mimic

Dong Eater has a unique shout when performing the Shriek of Milos WA, and I'm sad summons don't make vocal sounds because I so wanted his bone-chilling scream everytime I fought alongside him.

If anyone is having trouble with Seluvis not giving you the option to talk about his puppets: try going back to his hidden room and interact with the message next to the illusory wall and then talk to him again.
Edit: I also found out that Seluvis is not offering you to buy any more dolls untill you found Lusat in his cave and then talked to Sellen.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure I went back to selvius tower after doing the quest and there was either his items with dung eater or a bell bearing & I was able to buy dung eater from the twin maiden husks. Not 100% sure cuz it was a while ago but it's worth a shot to go back and check!

Got my dung eater puppet!! And I don't even feel bad about turning him into a puppet cos he's a real piece of work if you listen to his dialog! Now I just need to get Black Knife Tishe and Mimic Tear to complete my summon collection!
I feel like they nerfed Mimic to lead people to the LOATHSOME DUNG EATER as the DPS summon. Given that's he's one of the Elden Lord candidates it makes sense.
Mimic works perfectly fine for me. I put the tanking talisman on him and give him a attacking build and I summon him take the tanking talisman off and I do work. He keeps agro he still drinks juice and does his thing. I give him great swords. I just feel the mimic has more versatility
As someone who doesn’t run FP builds, mimic is still King.

You don't need to buy all Seluvis's things to get into the ruins. This place is also heavily involved in Sellen the Sorceress' questline
Hey thanks for the guide. But I would also like to mention that you need to talk to Blaidd -> Seluvis -> Sellen the Witch ->Blaidd after starting the Ranni quest-line (i.e. progress the quest until Blaidd invites you castle Redmane to fight Radahn) in order for the "obtain a puppet" option to appear in Seluvis' dialogue.
I followed this guide without progressing the Ranni questline and the option to buy puppets didn't appear.
There’s a huge crab that spawns when you fight the Dung Eater, I had to basically keep running and dodging both of them but every time to crab attacked me he damaged the dung eater and basically killed the dung eater for me just by running away and dodging it might work for you but if not try to stay on the north side of that area cause the crab spawned on the south
I am going to start this quest line tomorrow. It is my first play threw of the game and my first souls game ever. The game is truly amazing!

Great guide & helped me get my favourite ,& go to, summon; Dung eater. As you said, super tanky, debuff enemies & builds bleed. Perfect for my arcane build, but would also be great for ranged builds due to his aggressiveness drawing agro which combined with his survivability allows for plenty of time for casting, buffing & healing etc. The high fp summons cost reflects his value (& can be offset via the physicks flask if you lack the fp).
Dung Eater puppet is now my favorite summon after the Mimic Tear has been nerfed. Probably the best and powerful summon ever.💯👌🏼👌🏼
Props if you where the first to figure this out. Man the people that play soulsgame and figure these types of stuff for the first time are brilliant. Never in my mind I would've thought about this possibility. Thank's this is going to help my bleed build.

Really disappointing to have found out this needed to be done before Ranni's questline 😭 I could never find his tower and really didn't think he was important. I say the makers of Elden ring should make it possible where there's a way to still get his potion when he's dead. Perhaps in his secret ruin room?
@@thethethehthehthe While I don't completely disagree with you, I do feel like this quest could have benefited from one or two additional opportunities to give the player options and/or guidance, as there's almost no indication whatsoever that Seluvis (or at least his puppet, if you want to be technical) was at risk of death following the return of the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni and it completely ruins your ability to get two very powerful summons and the immensely useful Magic Scorpion Charm. Not to mention that it's extremally easy to complete Nokron before you even enter Lyndell, much less find the Dung Eater. Even compared to other vague and challenging quests, like Ranni's own questline -- which takes the player all over the map yet can be navigated effectively through listening to NPCs and paying attention to item descriptions -- this one stands out as being outright illogical and nearly impossible to be successful in without relying on a guide or sheer coincidence.
I'm not saying that Fromsoft's traditional method of quest design is bad, just that this instance could probably have been handled a little differently. It just comes across as too arbitrarily difficult, even by their own standards.
they did this in Sekiro. DS3 had a way to get missed items too i thought. Been a long time. No reason why they can’t put in other ways to obtain items after the game is cleared. Doesn’t change any of the exploring of the game. I explored like crazy. just did rannis quest first. missed the ashes. getting them somehow in end game doesn’t change how i explored the game versus following markers. A lot of things that were missable in early games weren’t necessarily meant to be missable. that’s why we have items like bell bearings do you don’t get locked out of NPC shops. because npcs and their drops were very problematic in older games.
i dont know if any one knows this but the mimic summon uses whatever items you leave in usable inventory and it gets all the charms you put on, you can give him regen with frost grease on a bleed weapon...

I used banished knight oleg up until the snowfields and now I think the dungeatwr quest is my main priority! Im not a noob I just prefer the easy option if it's attainable through reasonable means so this seems like a legit end game summon to help take some aggro of bosses so I can at pelt them with glintstone. Will miss oleg though. What an OG!
Doh, missed out on this just 2 days ago when I gave the potion to Gideon... when I checked the Wiki on Seluvis's Potion at that point, this wasn't even mentioned guess the contributors also didn't know then. A bit disappointed but I do appreciate the RPG aspect of this, decisions which actually matters and helps to promote multiple playthroughs. In stark contrast to some other "RPG" like Cyberpunk 2077 which seeming give you choices but they all result in pretty much the same outcome.

I don’t know about outcomes but Cyberpunk is one of the rare games where the last missions are completely different depending on the path you take. In one you assault the enemy tower with a tank with the Aldecaldos and end up one of them, in one you become a triad suit and your love interest dumps you, in another you play as Johnny and give the kid your guitar. It was very different to me. More than the Witcher 3’s endings actually. Plus you got to play through them. Not many games do that.
Tiche is still my go to, tiche destroyed elden beast on my first playthrough was pretty amazing to see, now my Barry the chopper build mimic is my go too

Please note that if you release him, he will kill prawn man before Invading you. Loosing the 20% physical resist crabs is a big hit so stack those sky high before releasing Dungy.
You talk to prawn man by the lake by staying to the right and circling behind. Then reload find him suffering and you get the bell bearing for prawns.

Wish we could administer the potion to any other NPC as well. To Blaidd when he is struggling to control his rage. To Patches when he is injured after you killed Rykard (for fun). To Alexander the Jar when he invites you to fight him. And some more.
Maybe I progressed to far and did something wrong? But I had seluvis potion in my inventory already. I had had one option was to give him the curse.
I returned to Seluvis and he offered puppets and looked dead on the floor 😅

Yea, same happened to me.It's bullshit that you can't give him the potion that's in your inventory. I didn't even complete Ranni's questline yet, just gave her the dagger and got her to move from her tower and Seluvis dies and breaks it.

For those of you who are unable to complete this quest, don’t fret. The mimic is still the best summon in the game if you have a decent build.
Mimic sucks for any mage builds, hardly uses good spells and dies very quick so no it’s not.

My Seluvis is dead already lmao. I had Ofnir poison him with his own poison.
He was a douchebag anyways… mimic tear and marionette ashes go a long way too. Perhaps even further than the dung eater
Another tip, after giving the potion to the dung eater, you can hit him once and you will receive all of this armor and then just simply proceed with.. you get the armor, you get the puppet
Be careful not to progress Rani's storyline before you get the puppet from Seluvis. Mild spoiler: Seluvis drops dead past a certain milestone in the Ranni quest and you can't get puppets from him anymore, so make sure you get Dung Eater first if that's what you're going for
So if I've already done/finished ranni's quest line and put the ring on her then I might as well forget about trying for this?

@@Risingshinigami00 oh yeah he'll be long dead by then. For me he got killed around the time i killed Radan and got the knife back. Something between Radan and the fingerslayer blade triggers the kill from what i can tell, but idk which plot beat triggers his deaths, so i'd recomend staying away from the whole questline until you got what you needed from seluvis, and then speedrun that section

After NG+ the mimic tear is still the best. At level 365 it’s unstoppable equipped with bleed and ranged magic.

I have 3 puppets from seluvis to choose from for free. Jarwight, finger maiden Therolina and Delores sleeping arrow puppet. I didn’t give the potion to dung eater tho as I’d already given to someone else I think the quest npc but I’m not sure. Il have to get the dung eater summons on ng+.

I just got him on my Mage playthrough. Such a godsend. I actually like him more than Tiche. He just stays on target tanking hits and giving damage, too. He has yet to die in a boss fight.

Just a heads up the mixed Physick trick will work as long as your FP bar isn't almost empty, you don't need anywhere near enough to summon but you still need SOME. No idea why it works this way
If you complete the dung eater quest instead of giving the potion to Gideon does it effect the ending you get?
If the Blackguard is in the outer moat selling crab, then you you have to exhaust his dialogue 3 times. Rest at a nearby Grace each time, and then return. After you grant his wish, then you will be invaded. Get ready!

But the good fact, you can summon a blood loss npc while youre not in blood build
I don't think it's about using the potion elsewhere as I never did, it is quite probably due to finishing Ranni's questline first as Seluvis will be dead when you do iirc.

Didn't pick him up until ng8, and unfortunately he was a let down.
Doesn't do any damage to speak of, and dies quite quickly, usually within first phase of the major bosses.
Mimic tear ftw :)
