18:41 - He (as well as Tiche previously) was getting leashed to you being too far away. The same thing happened with the Mimis as well with the Fire Giant. Maybe the Mimic Tear has a shorter leash distance, but all in all, the leash distance basically overrides the AI and forces them to follow you. It's probably to make it so your summons don't run off to fight some random enemies, while you are alone, trying to fight something actually in your way.
Against Rinalla i found out that wolves summon did far better job at the first phase Their number help to farm all of those minions quickly and you just need to focus the boos hereself
Wolf summons help keep her staggered in the second phase though. The first phase should be easy enough to push through without them, but the stagger frames come in handy big time.
I used the Raya lucaria soldier trio on that fight and they did pretty much that. They'd seriously be able to solo both phases if they had more damage. They hit everyone in the first room pretty reliably and not only survive into second phase but gang up on her and keep her staggered 90% of the fight. They saved me from several attacks by interrupting her and they even survived the dragon. Were all there at the end alongside me when I killed her.
it would be pretty interesting if someone manages to mod the game in such a way that your character is actually the summon, in the sense that it has the same stats and moveset, you obviously have to use the same weapon as the summon but you can still heal
I had a +10 Tiche for the Rykard fight and she pretty much solo’d him. I hit him a couple times in phase two but i noticed that if I held his aggro most of the fight tiche just had to take the aoe fire stuff (which as you’ve mentioned she just LOVES) and so long as RNG is on your side (and she back-steps critical attacks/the lava around him) she could prob solo him but it would be extremely close and extreme RNG heavy like the Fire giant fight.
Mimic is always better. That’s why tiche is often brought up but not the mimic. Mimic is just that good, people don’t feel like talking about it anymore.
would have loved to see how rot knight finlay would have done in this challenge. I think mimic tear will always be the king of summons, but I've always thought that finlay is a decent contender to black knife tiche, only instead of the black blade effect, it would have the scarlet rot status effect, while having decent medium-short range moves
Mimic Tear is a summon where your mileage will vary. For example, for a low-level character, the tear is near-useless (making low-level runs with it essentially pointless). Hell, when I was messing around with a low level challenge (until I got to a frustrating level of difficulty, anyways), the Mimic Tear boss essentially had tried to use a spell repeatedly that I didn't have the base int for, resulting in it's death by standing around too much.
Something else that can be used on the mimic is healing and buffing items, leave a few in your hotbar when summoning, and they will use it. My mimic kept dying on the final boss early second phase until I learned to use this, gave some rotten meat and stones, and he would use em, essentially more then doubling his life just from those, add that to that blade and its probably unkillable.
i recently found alot of joy within the skeleton based ashes, because unless they get hit again when downed, they just keep coming back. The downside is that they typically have super low health, but with enemies losing aggro on them the moment they 'die' they have proven useful in fights to be a constant source of aggro pull
I don’t understand why people don’t use the mimic with incarnations and sorceries. It’s incredibly fun to see him sending so many spells ( Mimic vs Mimic is the best fight for me )
The mimic tear trivializes the boss fights if you have a strong build, even post nerf. I played my first playthrough as an arc/fth Drake Knight cosplay and the mimic would end up killing the bosses solo pretty damn quick. The few times it queued up a breath at the same time I did at the beginning of the fight the boss was dead in literal seconds. Needless to say, I didn't use it in following playthroughs. Tiche is a pretty close second to Mimic with making the game too easy imo.
I agree. I don't use summons in general because they make the game too easy, but aside from that, they also make the fights a disgusting mess. But if you use ranged summons or a caster summon while you go melee, it's helpful and funny to use without necessarily turning the bossfight into a random fiesta
@@dragobane4728 Maybe. The Mimic isn't good at every boss in this game, as shown by the fire giant. However the Mimic is good at being a tank, whereas Tiche is a much better DPS than the mimic.
The mimic can also use items in the hotbar like the smashpots. (Before the nerf it could use the flasks at appropriate times). The mimic could also use magic items like healing spells and buffs.

having 99 stat points in everything of course the mimic is going to slaughter everything. he's basically a god. if you set a level cap that's realistic to a player's actually level at NG or NG++. i finished the game at rl178, i plan to go to maybe 200. then going to 2nd playthrough.
Realistic level caps are realistically relative. Its realistic to beat the game at RL9 and WL+25. I'm currently trying to find out how realistic it is for RL9 and WL+0 with patience as the only cheese
@@Guardian_Arias I see what you mean, since having the levels all maxed at 99 your covering all spectrum ls of what a player could possibly have as a Stat. As far as realistically, what person would level themselves that high? But yes testing something on that level takes allot of patience and time and I commend the YTers that do that for the community to understand. Just showcasing that in a video with 99 I. Every Stat is a bit extreme. But it was great entertainment. Won't argue with that
It was kind of heart wrenching to see the mimic redirect that final Taker's Flames toward the player. In the heat of the moment, a sudden pang of resentment toward his master.
Tiche is so fun to watch fight. Tho i wish she wouldnt miss as much. Just saw the tiche beam is long range too? It reached the fire giant from far away.
yea their version is way better than the players. I do wish the black knife had an alternate ash of war where you can do Alecto's copy of Malikeths... black blade slashing thing.
Tiche is absolutely amazing. I did manage to beat Malenia solo with katana. But on my strength build, I basically ended up doing some Maliketh Blade L2 strat to get through phase 1 solo... and then said fuck it and summoned Tiche... Jesus Christ we ended second phase in like 15 seconds between both of us using Destined Death shit on her.
If you did use mimic tear there is a talisman that you can equip that makes you take agro, if you have it when you summon mimic then take it off the mimic has it equipped
5:00 there's an item that, when you throw it, your summon will agrow to it instead of others 7:00 there's a certain spot in the area of Radahn that allows you to spawn summons with the bell...
Given how hard it was even for a maxed out mimic tear, I'm doubtful any other summon could manage, but Dung Eater puppet might be an interesting one to try.
Was that a level 812 Mimic? Lmao Awesome! Tiche is the best though, for any low level character. I'm not sure at what exact point the Mimic will surpass Tiche, but Tiche's efficacy is insane. She carried my level 1 playthrough of the game super hard, and tanked Malenia for me like a champ.
I've seen mine do absolutely nothing and swing aimlessly at invisible enemies that don't exist instead of at the boss that's all the way across the arena
@@LeKami I learned dont use the dark moon greatsword on them. The mimic tear will treat the sword like it has the buff and stand far back charging the heavy attack obviously not doing anything.
@@Overlysarcasticfox I'm aware of that but the mimic wasn't attacking the fog wall it was attempting to attack the boss that wasn't there it was just spamming light attack moving forward a bit then attacking nothing again once I killed the boss it was just attacking a regular wall
Tiche has the damage, but the fact that she only wears a wet paper towel for armor kinda holds her back. I myself used Banished knight Oleg on my support character (Mostly a healer and buffer). He usually can tank a few more hits, while also dealing some serious damage. Another valid choice (IMO) are the demi-human ashes at night. It's kinda fun to see the gank squad break apart low to mid lvl bosses. It's great how specific summons are better suited for different bosses.
That's more or less how I beat my first playthrough. I focused on getting the mimic tear to plus 10. I'd summon the mimic with sword and shield in hand. Switch to spamming rock throw while my mimic tanked. In the late game I would pull to much aggro. To counter this I summoned my mimic with shabriri woe tailsmen equipped. Then immediately take it off me. It was still on my mimic so I could spam rock throw and never pull aggro.
Glad I came across this video! Going to show it every time the topic of strongest ashes comes up. Been saying it for the longest, a buffed up Mimic Ash is absolutely amazing.
Rivers of blood and mimic tear is a very strong combo even after the patch. If yiu add the healing greatshield (and get rid of the ash of war on the shield) the mimic gets tankier. My first playthrough was with a katana bleed build and this was basically my endgame setup for fighting bosses. Two vs one with rivers of blood still melts bosses in the latest patch and I didn't even had the most optmised build for that lol Now I'm doing a new character with a colossal sword build. I got three great runes and so far it's fun. And yeah I'll use mimic tear again. And probably the greatshield skeleton squad.
I really need to make my own videos seriously. The mimic thing is absolutely achievable without cheating. So first of stats have a soft cap. There is never a reason to go beyond 60. The increase is negligible at this point. Maybe 70 if you really want to. But that's it. Getting a Rivers with +10 is hard why? Can be done in around two hours in a new game. You can skip a lot in this game if you want. But a Uchikatana with bloody slash can be a substitute until you get it. Only the talisman set up requires a new game plus. Because you want both Milicent talisman. Yes they do stack but you cannot get both anymore. But eh. Also always White mask and blood talisman. It's a broken combination. For armor just go with the most tanky one you have access to. Bull goat is obviously the end goal. The mimic AI didn't get nerfed. Like wtf. That's just wrong. You have to be close to the enemy and the Mimic will do its job. They only nerfed the damage output by the mimic but this doesn't effect bleed build up. It's still completely busted. Also your talisman set up was not ideal. Even if you are cheated. Like what. If you reach new game plus 1 you basically have a mimic who can play the entire game by itself. Also two rivers will help to make the mimic more consistent in its attacks.

Maybe the Mimic Tear has a shorter leash distance, but all in all, the leash distance basically overrides the AI and forces them to follow you. It's probably to make it so your summons don't run off to fight some random enemies, while you are alone, trying to fight something actually in your way.
Against Rinalla i found out that wolves summon did far better job at the first phase
Their number help to farm all of those minions quickly and you just need to focus the boos hereself
There is a mimic summon
What, do you mean something like the doppelganger that Dante uses in Devil May Cry 3/Vergil uses in Devil May Cry 5?
I had a +10 Tiche for the Rykard fight and she pretty much solo’d him. I hit him a couple times in phase two but i noticed that if I held his aggro most of the fight tiche just had to take the aoe fire stuff (which as you’ve mentioned she just LOVES) and so long as RNG is on your side (and she back-steps critical attacks/the lava around him) she could prob solo him but it would be extremely close and extreme RNG heavy like the Fire giant fight.
My tiche can barely survive against a fat fire monk, how do y’all have good tiches.
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub make it +10
wouldnt mimic with the spear be better
Mimic is always better. That’s why tiche is often brought up but not the mimic. Mimic is just that good, people don’t feel like talking about it anymore.
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub it’s all rng with it he you just want her for her destined death attacks
There was one thing you forgot. The blood boss drops a rune that makes summons CRAZY.
It only works if something is procing blood loss it’s basically lord of bloods exultation for summons
would have loved to see how rot knight finlay would have done in this challenge.
Mimic is only better than tiche one your own character gets so stupidly broken your probably don't even need summons.
This is genuinely one of my favourite videos on RUclips, you are great at making these long-form videos
Use Shabriri's Woe upon summon then remove it from yourself. The mimic tear will retain its effect, thus get aggroed
3:45 to my knowledge regardless of whether she’s in range of the boss she always uses that move the second she’s been spawned
I don’t understand why people don’t use the mimic with incarnations and sorceries.
It’s incredibly fun to see him sending so many spells ( Mimic vs Mimic is the best fight for me )
i wanna try this now
It required NG+ and NG++ to make it functional for both. If you want to melee with the build of a sorcerer you'll get hit hard.
Because it losses braincells, if you have terra magicus or golden vow it would just spam those spells
4:15 Godrick is not a Demigod, he is a freaking wannabe.
I want to see if Tiche AND the Mimic could work together to beat Elden Ring.
So basically her and the player anyways
@@dragobane4728 Maybe. The Mimic isn't good at every boss in this game, as shown by the fire giant. However the Mimic is good at being a tank, whereas Tiche is a much better DPS than the mimic.
@@theAaroneer bleed mimic is wonderful
@@theAaroneer give the mimic tear a healing incantation and the fire giant is a walk in the park
Maybe a mimic of tiche… or simply 2 of tiche
The mimic can also use items in the hotbar like the smashpots. (Before the nerf it could use the flasks at appropriate times). The mimic could also use magic items like healing spells and buffs.

Me: Oh because of Maliketh!
Him:the Godskin Duo
Black blade tiche is definitely my favourite summons she’s helped me throu a lot of boss battles main and side bosses 😊😊😊
Try to drink nomana crystal tear then spam your own Black Knife Death blade among with Tiché. It melts bosses and stacks a hilarously big max hp reduction. Basically bosses will have 50% health pool

Soldier of god,Rick!
I used Lateena for almost everything. Maybe if you tried a run with Lateena and spawning in a dire wolf for her to ride.
There is but one summon that can solo the game. . . And he is "Let me solo her."
That second try on Radahn wasn't really fair since he kept aggroing you and not going after the Tiche.
36:14 AM I THE ONLY ONE FREAKING OUT AT HOW SMART THIS AI IS??? IT FREAKIN *JUMPED* DUDE!!!
having 99 stat points in everything of course the mimic is going to slaughter everything. he's basically a god. if you set a level cap that's realistic to a player's actually level at NG or NG++. i finished the game at rl178, i plan to go to maybe 200. then going to 2nd playthrough.
Let me know how it goes
Thanks for an entertaining video and for being persistent with trying the various options.
Thanks Mike, appreciate it
I like the dramatic backstories you give for every summon.
I think the best summon against Fire Giant is The Dung Eater
His armor has the best resistance stats in the game, also he is really aggressive
"No, my summons aren't carying me. It's just skill."
FromSoftware: We nerfed the mimic
Mimic: I laugh at your feeble attempts to hold me back.
If you target lock the enemy, then that'll be the enemy your summons will attack. Otherwise, you'll have what happened to you with rennala
36:42 " the throne is mine and mine alone"
the Destined Death that the BKs wield is just that op, it’s also why normal Maliketh can solo the entire souls series
"I also put on this outfit so the demigods will just confuse me for the local flora." 🤣
"I am Mimic Tear, blade of Limcube" - Mimcube probably
If you did use mimic tear there is a talisman that you can equip that makes you take agro, if you have it when you summon mimic then take it off the mimic has it equipped
28:30 lmfao yeah. do NOT let the mimic have a fidget spinner, that is all it will do 😂

@@sirdumon7258 Oui. Je vous souhaite un bon week end!
5:00 there's an item that, when you throw it, your summon will agrow to it instead of others
7:00 there's a certain spot in the area of Radahn that allows you to spawn summons with the bell...
Given how hard it was even for a maxed out mimic tear, I'm doubtful any other summon could manage, but Dung Eater puppet might be an interesting one to try.
Tiche love
the fallen leaves tell a story, of how a mimic tear became elden lord..
Lhuthel is really good too. Treleports AND has a shield. Super good at just lasting. Decent dmg too.
she is def one my favs
Usually the aggro retention is her problem. If you are summoning to tank, the enemies lose interest on her pretty easily and get you focused.
36:30 After beating the Elden Beast the Mimic was done with Lumcubes backseat gaming.
14:58 - LET'S GOOOO
You ligit are the best!!! I fricken love you! Keep up the amazing work
So now we know how the hell they stole the death rune from Maliketh, they killed Godwyn, and escaped alive from the capital
The mimic actually “mimics” your attacks, I’ve seen him do spells and weapon arts right after I do them
I've seen mine do absolutely nothing and swing aimlessly at invisible enemies that don't exist instead of at the boss that's all the way across the arena
@@LeKami I learned dont use the dark moon greatsword on them. The mimic tear will treat the sword like it has the buff and stand far back charging the heavy attack obviously not doing anything.
@@LeKami yeah if there are enemies outside the arena Simmons target them until you eat one of the boss’s attacks
@@Overlysarcasticfox I'm aware of that but the mimic wasn't attacking the fog wall it was attempting to attack the boss that wasn't there it was just spamming light attack moving forward a bit then attacking nothing again once I killed the boss it was just attacking a regular wall
The second try you were tanking Radahn, 9:00
Tiche has the damage, but the fact that she only wears a wet paper towel for armor kinda holds her back.
I myself used Banished knight Oleg on my support character (Mostly a healer and buffer).
He usually can tank a few more hits, while also dealing some serious damage.
Another valid choice (IMO) are the demi-human ashes at night.
It's kinda fun to see the gank squad break apart low to mid lvl bosses.
It's great how specific summons are better suited for different bosses.
why at night?
@@michaelwerkov3438 their AI is more aggressive at night. Just like for regular demi-humans.
Everybody talks about Ranni or Melina,
Tiche is really where it’s at
That's more or less how I beat my first playthrough.
Love this case and video - thanks for do that :-* Eldenring is amazing, your run is crazy !!!
Thank you !!!
Damn subbed just because of your accent.
Makes the watch more enjoyable
Rivers of blood and mimic tear is a very strong combo even after the patch. If yiu add the healing greatshield (and get rid of the ash of war on the shield) the mimic gets tankier. My first playthrough was with a katana bleed build and this was basically my endgame setup for fighting bosses. Two vs one with rivers of blood still melts bosses in the latest patch and I didn't even had the most optmised build for that lol
Now I'm doing a new character with a colossal sword build. I got three great runes and so far it's fun. And yeah I'll use mimic tear again. And probably the greatshield skeleton squad.
German, right?
I thought the same!
Isn’t that the guy from Bloodborne
@@Julius_Strife naw that's Aussie, the first hunter
The Limic immediately turned on you to become ELDEN LORD at the end lmao.
Cant wait for your own Video!
@@Limcube What a professional and adult response. You got so many very basic things wrong you could have checked in like 10 minutes on the wiki. You obviously can read so what is the excuse here? You made a video about something that is not a challenge. At all. You can accomplish this run without any safe file editing. Just a bit of brains and game knowledge.
Also little side note Stormvaile castle has a legitimate path to skip it. Entirely. You theoretically can reach the Erdtree before fighting a single boss. Radahn is required to progress but a minimum boss run would be Radahn, Godfrey (Piss version) Morgott, Fire Giant, Foreskin Duo, Maliketh, Godfrey, Radabum and Elden beast. Every other boss is optional and not required to finish the game.
