36:40 I’d like to believe that, in this moment, the mimic thought to itself: “Why should he be the one to take the Elden throne? I’m the one who did all the work.” And so, it attempted to take the throne for itself, only to be thwarted by the lack of friendly-fire game mechanics.
A usurper.

For anyone that doesn't know, there's a pot that marks targets for agro from your summons. It's called the cursed-blood pot and you can craft it after you get the Nomadic Warrior Cookbook [12] from the Rose Church in Liurnia. Generally it's not that useful but for fights like Renala and O'Nial in runs like this it might be of some utility. Hope it helps someone!
It’s just often not used in these types of playthroughs because it deals 1 damage, thus resulting in most content creators disqualifying it.
@@BaconPinata but you can throw it to where it will splash onto the enemy and not deal damage
@@matthewguidry6975 interesting. Good to know!
@@matthewguidry6975 you can but in some runs this is even discussed but thrown away because its not very reliable. And will end up sometimes hitting the boss if they didge into it.
He wants to take some aggro for himself so that Tiche can win. In the winning fights he lets the enemy aggro him so that Tiche uses the black blade
Margit: Well, thou art of passing skill.
Tiche: You wot mate?
I think the reason Tiche is as powerful as she is aside from her Destined Death debuff is because she moves like a Bloodborne hunter

It would be pretty cool if we got Dark Souls with Bloodborne movement.
She got transported when in the middle of the hunt
Now you mention it, I would’ve preferred Malenia’s rune perk to have been to change dodge to a hunter’s dodge rather than the rally.
I wonder if the skeletal militiamen could solo the game, they will only need three years to kill Margit
Lol I don’t think that’ll ever happen without constant support/buffs and even then it would prolly be rough

I'm pretty sure the reason for the Fire Giant beating the mimics ass was because it will only attack enemy's nearby. So because u were far from him, the mimic wont attack that's why during Rennala fight u were able to get him to kill the specific people
Yeah, thats what i ended up switching to make it work!
Yeah I had the same thought.🤔
All melee summons behave like this. Exceptions are ranged ones ofc since you can stay farther from the boss and the boss will still be in the shooting range of the summon.
@@Limcube bro I love this run so much
18:54 The Fire Giant is not THAT strong against fire. His fire negation is only 50%, which is above average but not as good as Radagon's 80% Holy negation or Fortissax's 80% holy AND lightning negation. The real problem is that the Omenkiller's fire attacks aren't good to start with.
And there comes Elden beast with all 100 negation😑

Awesome 👍
In the Fire Giant fight, the Fire Giant is considered as having half as much health in the first phase, because its technically a different creature with less health so that it dies to trigger the cutscenes and summon the next phase to spawn in
Therefore Black blade/flame AoW and spells do less damage in the first half due to the maximum health damage scaling effect.
I use a lot of black flame, I felt like it wasn’t burning as hot as it should’ve. Now I know why
A big problem here is that if you aren't near the boss, then the summon is going to play passive.
Alot of these fights involve Tiche taking hits and losing time because she's following you, which ashes will prioritize over attacking.
38:05
Limcube: "You've done it, Limic, you've killed all the bosses!"
Limic: "Not all of them."
A good litmus test for the power of an ash that any person can try without mods is to summon them to fight the haligtree knights at Elphael inner wall. The only ashes that can consistently beat them both at +9 is the mausoleum soldier ashes.
They’re probably your best bet for something like this.
That's my testing ground for almost everything as well.
That’s where I used Finlay and was super disappointed to see her get her ass kicked lmao
*laughs in skeletal tower shield ashes* They can beat The Elden Beast
Really? Using trash enemies as an measurement for the strength of spirit ashes? That is laughable. They'll do jack vs a boss that does tons of damage to them lol. Only viable method of testing is vs. bosses like Fire Giant or Godskin Duo.
@@_Shadoh_ mydude forgetting what a litmus test is. How does one test ashes for bosses.... *with said bosses?*
Testing against literal endgame enemies is quite possibly the best way to test for how long they'll stay alive for in boss fights.
18:41 - He (as well as Tiche previously) was getting leashed to you being too far away. The same thing happened with the Mimis as well with the Fire Giant. Maybe the Mimic Tear has a shorter leash distance, but all in all, the leash distance basically overrides the AI and forces them to follow you. It's probably to make it so your summons don't run off to fight some random enemies, while you are alone, trying to fight something actually in your way.
Tiche beat Radahn in less tries than it took me to figure out to roll into his arrows
Ouch. Rolling *in* is the number 1 way to dodge in the game. Rolling sideways is #2.
mimic also uses the healing stones if you equip them, mimic actually uses all items you give him, including bleed or frost bombs and such
I had sleep pots and the accursed blood pots for an easy Godskin Duo fight for NG+4. Forgot mimic also uses your items so we kept both of them sleeping and he'd come over to mine when i blood-potted mine so the other would wake up for a second until i noticed. Had the silliest fight against the skinny one. Just kept sleeping fatty cuz he still rolls too long and too often.
If you didn't know, equipping Mohg's great rune is an awesome way to seriously buff all your summons.
I did learn this recently and now i kinda wanna see if tiche can beat the game with it
@tommaso giobbi depends how aggro they are. Sometimes one or both of them are pretty passive and you can literally just aggro one and dodge the occasional fireball from the other while it takes a million years for him to walk over to you.
@tommaso giobbi that's true... maybe she could do it with bernahl as back though? He's pretty useless for dealing damage but he's great at soaking it up. Personally I find a three man team works best for the fight, one person to keep one of the duo occupied and two to gank the other one.
@@Pandemia616since when you can summon more than one?
@theshooter36 you can summon a phantom and a spirit ash or a phantom and a player summon. The simplest way to beat these guys is with sleep pots though.
I found this fascinating, and it kept me busy for 30 plus minutes on my elliptical machine NOT bored, thanks for that!
I'd like to see this again, but instead of one summon the whole time, using different summons for different fights. I swear I've seen Dung Eater solo Fire Giant somewhere, and Delores with Bernahl could probably kill Godskin Duo. I don't know if anyone would have the endurance for Radagon/Elden Beast, though.
Dolores is a roll of the dice since she's made of paper even when max upgraded. The fight will depend on if Bernahl can keep the aggro.

I’ve been doing a maiden astrea cosplay where I am a pure healer/buffer, 40 mind 80 faith at lvl 90.
I typically do blessing of the erdtree buff, golden vow, and either barrier of gold/lords divine fortification, etc on my spirit ashes. I also tend to spam erdtree heal in my fights, I don’t even damage the boss lol.
From my experience, I’ve found in my ng+ run that the azula beastmen ashes absolutely clap all bosses before Godfrey. Banished knight oleg does a pretty damn good job for the stronger bosses in the endgame. Also the godrick soldier duo ashes are pretty damn strong too. They’re a mix of the two other ashes, a little tanky while also high damaging.
I didn’t realize black knife tiche was this strong, I kinda avoided her because of how mobile she is, would be hard to buff and heal her in fights, but now that I see this video I’ll give it a try.
Never thought of that build, sounds cool! Vangarl for life
I was genuinely surprised at how often i could get an erdtree heal off with tiche because of its large AOE. It also heals tiche a good chunk of health as well. Buffs im not so sure about because i dont use them
@@wackymcwacksire6279 yup someone else that understands the power of erdtree heal
I feel like using Tiche Because she's mobile and it would be hard to buff and heal her would actually increase your skill over time. So isn't that a positive thing?
Something else that can be used on the mimic is healing and buffing items, leave a few in your hotbar when summoning, and they will use it.
My mimic kept dying on the final boss early second phase until I learned to use this, gave some rotten meat and stones, and he would use em, essentially more then doubling his life just from those, add that to that blade and its probably unkillable.
would have loved to see how rot knight finlay would have done in this challenge. I think mimic tear will always be the king of summons, but I've always thought that finlay is a decent contender to black knife tiche, only instead of the black blade effect, it would have the scarlet rot status effect, while having decent medium-short range moves
Mimic Tear is a summon where your mileage will vary.
For example, for a low-level character, the tear is near-useless (making low-level runs with it essentially pointless). Hell, when I was messing around with a low level challenge (until I got to a frustrating level of difficulty, anyways), the Mimic Tear boss essentially had tried to use a spell repeatedly that I didn't have the base int for, resulting in it's death by standing around too much.
Mimic is only better than tiche one your own character gets so stupidly broken your probably don't even need summons.
Against Rinalla i found out that wolves summon did far better job at the first phase
Their number help to farm all of those minions quickly and you just need to focus the boos hereself
Wolf summons help keep her staggered in the second phase though. The first phase should be easy enough to push through without them, but the stagger frames come in handy big time.
I used the Raya lucaria soldier trio on that fight and they did pretty much that. They'd seriously be able to solo both phases if they had more damage.
They hit everyone in the first room pretty reliably and not only survive into second phase but gang up on her and keep her staggered 90% of the fight.
They saved me from several attacks by interrupting her and they even survived the dragon.
Were all there at the end alongside me when I killed her.
The mimic can also use items in the hotbar like the smashpots. (Before the nerf it could use the flasks at appropriate times). The mimic could also use magic items like healing spells and buffs.
I don’t understand why people don’t use the mimic with incarnations and sorceries.
It’s incredibly fun to see him sending so many spells ( Mimic vs Mimic is the best fight for me )
i wanna try this now
It required NG+ and NG++ to make it functional for both. If you want to melee with the build of a sorcerer you'll get hit hard.
The mimic tear trivializes the boss fights if you have a strong build, even post nerf. I played my first playthrough as an arc/fth Drake Knight cosplay and the mimic would end up killing the bosses solo pretty damn quick. The few times it queued up a breath at the same time I did at the beginning of the fight the boss was dead in literal seconds. Needless to say, I didn't use it in following playthroughs. Tiche is a pretty close second to Mimic with making the game too easy imo.
I agree. I don't use summons in general because they make the game too easy, but aside from that, they also make the fights a disgusting mess. But if you use ranged summons or a caster summon while you go melee, it's helpful and funny to use without necessarily turning the bossfight into a random fiesta
Because it losses braincells, if you have terra magicus or golden vow it would just spam those spells
I think the best summon against Fire Giant is The Dung Eater
His armor has the best resistance stats in the game, also he is really aggressive
I want to see if Tiche AND the Mimic could work together to beat Elden Ring.
So basically her and the player anyways
@@dragobane4728 Maybe. The Mimic isn't good at every boss in this game, as shown by the fire giant. However the Mimic is good at being a tank, whereas Tiche is a much better DPS than the mimic.

having 99 stat points in everything of course the mimic is going to slaughter everything. he's basically a god. if you set a level cap that's realistic to a player's actually level at NG or NG++. i finished the game at rl178, i plan to go to maybe 200. then going to 2nd playthrough.
Let me know how it goes
Realistic level caps are realistically relative.
Its realistic to beat the game at RL9 and WL+25. I'm currently trying to find out how realistic it is for RL9 and WL+0 with patience as the only cheese
@@Guardian_Arias I see what you mean, since having the levels all maxed at 99 your covering all spectrum ls of what a player could possibly have as a Stat. As far as realistically, what person would level themselves that high? But yes testing something on that level takes allot of patience and time and I commend the YTers that do that for the community to understand. Just showcasing that in a video with 99 I. Every Stat is a bit extreme. But it was great entertainment. Won't argue with that
That second try on Radahn wasn't really fair since he kept aggroing you and not going after the Tiche.
the Destined Death that the BKs wield is just that op, it’s also why normal Maliketh can solo the entire souls series
Tiche is so fun to watch fight. Tho i wish she wouldnt miss as much. Just saw the tiche beam is long range too? It reached the fire giant from far away.
yea their version is way better than the players. I do wish the black knife had an alternate ash of war where you can do Alecto's copy of Malikeths... black blade slashing thing.
So now we know how the hell they stole the death rune from Maliketh, they killed Godwyn, and escaped alive from the capital
Tiche is absolutely amazing. I did manage to beat Malenia solo with katana. But on my strength build, I basically ended up doing some Maliketh Blade L2 strat to get through phase 1 solo... and then said fuck it and summoned Tiche... Jesus Christ we ended second phase in like 15 seconds between both of us using Destined Death shit on her.

the fallen leaves tell a story, of how a mimic tear became elden lord..
Was that a level 812 Mimic? Lmao Awesome!
Tiche is the best though, for any low level character. I'm not sure at what exact point the Mimic will surpass Tiche, but Tiche's efficacy is insane. She carried my level 1 playthrough of the game super hard, and tanked Malenia for me like a champ.
I like the dramatic backstories you give for every summon.
You forgot the hardest boss in the game!
Soldier of god,Rick!
The mimic actually “mimics” your attacks, I’ve seen him do spells and weapon arts right after I do them
I've seen mine do absolutely nothing and swing aimlessly at invisible enemies that don't exist instead of at the boss that's all the way across the arena
@@LeKami I learned dont use the dark moon greatsword on them. The mimic tear will treat the sword like it has the buff and stand far back charging the heavy attack obviously not doing anything.
@@LeKami yeah if there are enemies outside the arena Simmons target them until you eat one of the boss’s attacks
@@Overlysarcasticfox I'm aware of that but the mimic wasn't attacking the fog wall it was attempting to attack the boss that wasn't there it was just spamming light attack moving forward a bit then attacking nothing again once I killed the boss it was just attacking a regular wall
If you did use mimic tear there is a talisman that you can equip that makes you take agro, if you have it when you summon mimic then take it off the mimic has it equipped
Given how hard it was even for a maxed out mimic tear, I'm doubtful any other summon could manage, but Dung Eater puppet might be an interesting one to try.

36:14 AM I THE ONLY ONE FREAKING OUT AT HOW SMART THIS AI IS??? IT FREAKIN *JUMPED* DUDE!!!
That's more or less how I beat my first playthrough. I focused on getting the mimic tear to plus 10. I'd summon the mimic with sword and shield in hand. Switch to spamming rock throw while my mimic tanked.
In the late game I would pull to much aggro. To counter this I summoned my mimic with shabriri woe tailsmen equipped. Then immediately take it off me. It was still on my mimic so I could spam rock throw and never pull aggro.
There is but one summon that can solo the game. . . And he is "Let me solo her."
Tiche has the damage, but the fact that she only wears a wet paper towel for armor kinda holds her back.
I myself used Banished knight Oleg on my support character (Mostly a healer and buffer).
He usually can tank a few more hits, while also dealing some serious damage.

Use blasphemous blade with the mimic for more bullshit. It can literally solo malenia and it’s straight up better against endgame bosses since endgame bosses are resistant to holy.
Edit: nevermind you finally used it in the end and it’s actually the key to clearing the run
Can you try the challenge with mimic tear at level 150? Since that’s the general level that most humans would complete the game. It’ll be able to measure how good a mimic tear is for it’s first run (journey 1)
I'm level 504 people NORMALLY stay level 100? Wtf
Rivers of blood and mimic tear is a very strong combo even after the patch. If yiu add the healing greatshield (and get rid of the ash of war on the shield) the mimic gets tankier. My first playthrough was with a katana bleed build and this was basically my endgame setup for fighting bosses. Two vs one with rivers of blood still melts bosses in the latest patch and I didn't even had the most optmised build for that lol
Now I'm doing a new character with a colossal sword build. I got three great runes and so far it's fun. And yeah I'll use mimic tear again. And probably the greatshield skeleton squad.
14:33 bro Tiche actually styled on Godfrey right there
Use shabiri woe talisman. That keeps agro. Summon mimic then take talisman off and your mimic will keep agro unless you hit the boss hard
if you want the boss to target the summon instead of you, you could just equip that talisman that makes enemies focus on you while you summon and take it off once the summon is complete. the boss will only focus on the summon and you'll be free to just watch.
I love how it went from not wanting to use mimic to using it with all stats at 99 xD
The final part of Tiche's fight vs Godfrey was INSANE
i smell german
When I want a spirit summon to fight enemies on its own (something to do while waiting to be summoned for multiplayer), I cast the Darkness incantation while target locked on to the thing I want it to aggro. That puts it in combat and puts you out of combat.
Mohg’s rune apparently also buffs your summons but I think you need bleed
The mimic in this video is the equivalent of forcing a Ditto from pokemon into shapeshifting experiments. Torturing and mangling it to create the strongest pokemon in existence.
the reason she did 2k in the radhan fight so fast is cus her black blade slash causes something like rot or poison

btw the mimic will use any weapons/items you have equipped when you summon it, like throwing darts, perfumes, incantations, etc.
I had 5 of the shielding perfumes equipped, and I've had the mimic use 4 in a single fight (which doesn't consume any of yours)
Tiche will almost always use the ash of war on run up. And I use that knowledge to cheese the health down on Malenia. It's a science to having it script perfectly.
2 years late to this video but I don't see if anyone mentioned it but it is possible to make the mimic tear even stronger than it already is. If you equip the dumplings that heal you but inflict poison even just 1 of them onto your hot bar the mimic tear which can't be poisoned will gain an infinite source of healing items with no downside instead of just the one estus they usually have.
Rykard is actually easier to kill with black knife due to his ungodly high 32k+ hp bar and no unique defense vs other weapons, so yes, Tiche would nuke Rykard, but not alone, unless lucky, as Rykard has 2 phases with a lot of damage too...
Glad I came across this video! Going to show it every time the topic of strongest ashes comes up. Been saying it for the longest, a buffed up Mimic Ash is absolutely amazing.

Maybe could get a way to make the player copy the exact location of the summon so the enemy will focus you in a way that will focus the summoned unit as well.
You could have tried the sleep arrow summon for godskin. It is a summon that shoots sleep arrows. If anyone could have soloed them other than mimic he would have.
1. You can give mimic raw meat to heal 50% HP (its immune to poison) and you can try the Dung eater summon (give Dung eater selivus potion and something then you get it)
I'm on the final Eldon Beast. I have died 100X seeing that frustrated me so much. guess I'll try and find that sword and try this.
With my little experiments, the mimic seems to mirror you and compliment your tactics if your build facilitates it.
Absolutely OP having a shadow clone.
Player: I cant do it
Mimic: fine, hold my beer
I never play the game but Tiche is my favorite character now.
Damn subbed just because of your accent.
Makes the watch more enjoyable
I think Tiche is very powerful, but weaker than the mimic. Tiche's strength revolves around her blackflame slash, the slash does lots of damage but that's the only thing (aside from her dodging) that makes her strong, which makes wins and losses up to when Tiche decides to win. Compared to the mimic which scales with you, I believe that the mimic is better. In early-mid game Tiche is better because the mimic wont be as powerful because you are weaker, but in the endgame, the mimic is stronger because you will also be stronger.
The Mimic Tear also has downsides too. When you spawn the mimic, it does a lengthy animation before it attacks, which forces you to run until the animation is over. Also, the Mimic might not use the build that you want, it could switch to another weapon that you equipped or use an incantation in the wrong moment. For example, if you are using the rivers of blood, your build revolves around corpse plier, but your mimic doesn't know that and could not use it for the fight. However, the Mimic usually has more use because even if it doesn't do what you want, it wont waste time dodging and will draw aggro more, which could clutch out a boss.
In short: Tiche is good, but the lack of other strong moves aside from her Blackflame slash makes her weaker in endgame, and while the Mimic also has downsides, compared to Tiche, the Mimic is overall better (for me atleast).
what i love about tiche. she actually dodges enemy attacks.
This is the story of how a summon became ELDEN LORD!!
I'm really surprised you didn't try Finlay for Fire Giant. She has a massive fire damage reduction buff, a heal over time, a ranged attack, and she can apply scarlet Rot really easily.
I wanted to stick with 1 summon for everything
Leveled 6 stats to 99. "Mimic Tear is too powerful."
Doesn't everyone have lots of 99 stats haha level 504 here
Should have given the mimic tear rotten meat. He has an unlimited supply of heals and can’t be poisoned, so he could heal forever.
Then let him in renalas room for infinite combat.
lol, Tiche bailed me out in the Melenia fight hard core the first time I went in there. She had like a sliver of health left right when the 2nd phase transitioned and popped her twice with the hp debuff while she was in the rot flower. By the time Melenia started moving in the 2nd phase, she was already below half health because of her
11:21 the only reason tiche struggled so much was cause you were so far away from the tree sentinel that you confused her ai which made her try to retreat to you.
5:45 cursed blood pots can make spirits target whichever enemy is doused in said blood.
