They did the best they could with what they had without completely relying on a 100% digital recreational of Carrie Fisher, and only using her actual performance from deleted scenes, she was incorporated beautifully for what they had
It probably would have been better had JJ Abrams & Lawrence Kazdan not screwed up her and everyone else’s characters from the Force Awakens so that we would not be here in this mess.
It's awesome how they made it look as though Carrie Fisher was actually there through unused TFA footage. 1:10-1:33 however does feel kind of weird in terms of dialogue. Like why does Rose get touchy with Wexley sounding pessimistic just so they can have Leia saying "Do me a personal favour, be optimistic!"? Doesn't Wexley have the right to have doubts regarding Rey and the guys on Pasaana? Just before this scene, they were being chased by stormtroopers and then sunk in that sinking field. Hence why the Falcon's not responding. For all they knew, the First order may have captured or killed them. Well, maybe not Leia has she's Force sensitive.
Yeah I always thought she looked most realistic in that particular scene with Rose.
I personally would've opened up with the title crawl saying Leia had passed away (maybe the effects of her body being out in space catch up to her) and had the very first scene be the Resistance burying Leia. Given Carrie passed a way a whole year before TLJ came out, they could've also went in and made some edits or reshoots hinting at Leia having some cancer or infection due to being in space. Maybe in reshoots, they could've had that blonde resistance lady report that Leia is alive, but they fear the effects of space catching up to her; and then towards the end of the film when Luke gives her the dice, he notices Leia's hands more withered than usual (maybe through VFX), and Leia could've been edited to give a "don't worry about me" type of look. And I say all this as someone who is not a fan of the sequels.
Killing off Luke was a huge ass mistakes.
Absolutely not, people like you have issues with letting go of characters.
@@captainfilip7188 It funny you said that but they couldn’t let go of Leia even knowing the actress is already dead no hate to Leia at all but I just think killing off the og characters serves no purpose at all.
@@captainfilip7188Did anyone ask you? Oh wait, no I don’t think they did! 😂
