- This is a combination of various videos I found to try and fluently piece together the final fight. Credit where credit is due for the original captures, as well as the confrontation with the Emperor I have included:
- Rey Vs. the Royal Guards.
- Ben Vs. the Knights of Ren.
- General Pryde’s Death.
I apologise for the quality at some sections but there’s little I can do on that part.

Sure the movie could’ve been better, in fact it WOULD’VE been better had we got the 3 hour JJ cut, but no matter what it’s Ian McDiarmid as the Emperor that’s the best thing about the movie. “Stand together, DIE together!”

Yeah but to be fair... it's lightning bro. Shiz goes practically berzerk. I'm surprised Palps can even target stuff with it. Also don't even think of trying to reconcile real world physics with that kinda superpower. It just doesn't add up. From propagation, grounding, paths of least resistance etc... just got to suspend all disbelief and enjoy the mayhem lol.

Anakin's existence in general and his/his families influence in the Galaxy as a whole can be considered what the prophecy is talking about. Him simply existing and causing that ripple still makes him the chosen one.

As someone who’s only gotten into star wars over the last year or so, I watched the sequels fairly unbiased and open minded. Not only are these bad Star Wars movies, these are just plain bad movies in general.

They don't make sense. They make the same shitty movie tropes we made fun of back in the 90s. The bad guy tells the whole plan, doesn't shut up, doesn't kill them right away, is mega powerful and then all of a sudden isn't.
The weird thing too is in return of the jedi Palpatine doesn't leave himself any failsafes. The shield generator doesn't have enough troops to defend it with 100% guaranteed success, he has no bodyguards to back him up in case his only minion decides not to kill his son for him, he doesn't give his fleet orders to destroy the rebel fleet in case the death star is destroyed.
In this movie, he wins if Rey kills him normally. If Kylo Ren kills her, then she was too weak and he can just force drain him anyway. If Kylo Ren kills him the sith get some decent Skywalker blood again. If they team up together, he can force drain them both and steal all their power. If the imperial fleet gets attacked he can lightning nuke everyone, none of the other rebels know where he is hidden in some pyramid.
Yet, he loses from brute force after he had just brute forced his enemies while he was in his weakest state.
Same, except I literally only got into it 5 days ago and binged all 9 movies.

When she says "I'm all the Jedi" they shouldve shown the force ghosts of all the Jedi with their hands on Rey's back, and even more coming out of the mist surrounding palpatine
Maybe even have them only be slightly visible in the light of the lightning strikes before becoming fully visible
As palpatine realizes he's surrounded he should've been shown to be terrified of what's about to happen
Such a missed opportunity, would've salvaged most of the movie and explained why Rey was so overpowered, she had the support of all the Jedi but she wasn't capable of perceiving them because of the conflict in her heart until the very end when she finds balance or some shit
Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a really badass way to cap off the star wars saga, show the effects of the Jedi stance of "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine"
It would've hit me pretty hard at the very least, and would've been a more fitting end for palpatine to be brought down by the spirits of all those he had killed

He allowed other writers to expand on the universe to keep the Star Wars brand alive and gave them a lot of creative free reign, except for some general no-no's. He gave broad approval to a lot of things with the understanding that it could all be invalidated by anything that happens in future films. This is one of the reasons why some fans didn't like the prequels; they disregarded a lot of things that were established in the EU.
Also, since that article was published last year, many more details about the sequels from LUCAS HIMSELF have come out and none refer to the emperor as being resurrected.
I'll take the word of George Lucas over that of Games Radar any day.

I just realised this trilogy could've given us Grandmaster Luke Skywalker vs the resurrected Darth Sidious. Would probably be one of the most epic battles ever in cinema history.

George Lucas is clearly a student of history. Palpatine seems to be a well put together combination of Hitler, Stalin, Julius Caesar, Caesar Augustus, Caligula and Diocletian. George also seems to have mirrored historical events when writing about Palpatines plans, for example, Order 66 is an obvious copy of the Night of the Long Knives.
This is very effective, as it makes the events in an otherwise unrealistic fantasy land seem very plausible. The fans who criticised the prequels obviously knew Fuck all about the world around them to not see that

I think part of the reason that the dyad chose Ben Solo and Rey Palpatine was because they were the grandchildren of the two people Palpatine originally tried to make into one (himself and Anakin).
It’s always felt a bit “???” to me that these characters became a dyad in the Force despite being born so far apart, that it happened so long before they even met each other, much less had a chance to connect with each other on a level strong enough to form the kind of bonds the Force makes, so I like the idea that Palpatine tried to create it with Anakin--probably before he became Vader at all, to really cement Anakin’s being chained to him.

But yeah the villains are getting Stormtrooper levels of bad, and TCW Grievous levels of incompetent. Some fun moments:
- Moff Gideon's battalion has the Mando surrounded. One droid literally walks through everyone.
- Mando and 'friend' walk into the middle of an Imperial base. Kill an officer loudly. Firefight their way to safety.
- Gideon gets Mando to turn his back on him. Attacks him with a weapon that cannot penetrate his armour. Assume he knows everything.
- Gideon spends all his time and resources on creating super-soldier robots. One Jedi kills them all. Them all. The CIS armies had better Jedi killing records.
You've got to overlook *some* of this stuff if you're into this kind of action franchise. But cmon!

I take George every time over Disney! George Lucas IS STAR WARS. Ok Nothing will change that. I’m not a conservative, but Disney didn’t make their Star Wars homework while writing the script for the sequels. George Lucas put in his movie his full heart and soul and he was more concerned creating with his new trilogy something unique and something never been seen before. We can be happy to have Dave Filoni as G. lucases “apprentice”. I hope that someday Dave F. will make a new sequel trilogy based on the stories that Lucas wrote! But that will likely never happen.. but we can just hope..

Sure, I agree that he was presented in a great way (all evil and demonic, as you said), and I love Ian McDiarmid's acting as I said in my OP, but none of that has anything to do with his purpose in the story. He was a perfect character in the original 6 George Lucas films, and had a great, satisfying ending at the hands of Darth Vader (who sacrificed himself to save his son), so for them to bring him back kinda kills the effect of Return of the Jedi and Darth Vader's sacrifice as a whole. What makes it even worse is that they brought him back just to do the exact same thing they did with him in Return of the Jedi - have him be all evil, and then die, so essentially there was nothing new added, and thus no purpose whatsoever. What makes it EVEN worse is that they brought him back with no build up or anticipation - it was completely out of the blue, and Disney obviously had no plan going into this trilogy. Also, Rey being his granddaughter is just laughable IMO.

For me this movie was hugely enjoyable, and about as good as it could possibly be in the wake of the iffy episode 8.
Same I walked out of the theater thinking "this was good. Better than TLJ. I liked the combat and everything and Ben was dope" and then I never rewatched the sequels except for TFA because tfa is actually really good. Star wars would've been fine had they just not switched directors mid trilogy.
The sound at the end of Palpatine getting blasted reminded me of the sound made in anime when something struck its max hit strike

That was probably the most disappointing part about the entirety of TROS for myself. Hearing Anakin’s voice but not seeing him at the end of the legacy that he started. A total misstep on Disney’s part.
Also it basically just rubs it in that Anakin’s sacrifice meant nothing in the end. He didn’t actually restore balance to the Force because Palpatine never actually died. This whole fucking trilogy is just all about Disney cashing in on Star Wars after buying it out, and then squatting and taking a great big dump on the first two trilogies.
