Steve Winwood is one of the true greats, excellent vocalist, musician, and songwriter. He is underrated, in my opinion, as a true artist of his time.
Deca Cards52 I don't think he's underrated at all, more top notch. I always thought people could easily pick this out, the first time you hear him.🙏🏻❤️
Fabiola..
He needs so much more mainstream recognition. Traffic was magical. Steve is on the all time great short list. Monster talent and the nicest person. What a super guy.
I just heard this live cut for the first time today on a jukebox at the local pool hall. I put the cut on, a favorite from way back. Someone asked if it was Santana on guitar. I thought, "maybe". I am delighted to see it is Brasileiro Jose Neto on guitar. I met him in the early 1990s outside of a building in Portland, Maine. He and the band's sax/keys guy were having a safety meeting before they went on stage with Airto Moeira and Fourth World. Jose was very special then, and is now. It's always nice to see him play again. what a wonderful clip. Winwood is magical.
One of the greatest true talents. I listen to him each day of my life. And, I find something inspiring.
Well said!!!
Also, All The Young Dudes is forever FIRE!
Always love how Steve’s band seems to be having a great time together
I have loved this song since the first time I heard it 💯!
The guitarist, Jose Neto, is a God!
Beautiful performance . Love the slight echo on the end of his voice.
The man's still got it
Amazing. Beautifully performed.
Awesome concert - another masterful performance by the great Steve Winwood.
Great voice and musician (CLASS)
That's Jose Neto taking the song to Mars
PHENOMINAL
Nice! I was there, and this is probably my favorite Traffic song. Thanks for the upload!
It is the greatest classical Melody concerto modern day so blessed to be alive at the time of its creation it's like going to a concert for Mozart Beethoven back in the day or Rossini
Love it!
I think this is an incredible version! Great players all of them. Richard Bailey is the drummer on Jeff Beck's (RIP) Album Blow by Blow...incredible on that as well. Very clean player.
This has that lovely Santana vibe to it.
Guitar is really nice.
Winwood on the organ is God level. Only Ray Manzarek was that epic. Master talents.
Right On Bro 🙂!
Great to have this tour covered on his latest "Greatest Hits Live" CD.
I saw Steve Winwood open with this song in Daytona Beach in 1986 during his Back In The High Life Tour. Incredible show.
Epic tour! You’ll always remember that concert.
Fantástico esse Steve , caramba. Canta demais , toca muito.... E cada interpretação é uma maravilhosa e surpreendente apreciação
I love this song so much...
If you listen to the '72 version, then '94, then this 2013 one, you hear how it's evolved/matured...
Wisdom does have a certain “thing” to it.
Steve Winwood when he was with traffic was fantastic and then his solo stuff was even better

BADD ASS
Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow you can't say anything after that but wow
smyletuneage- You mean The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys from the album Low Spark of High Heeled Boys? You're a genious!
I saw him play this in Orange County, CA in the late 80's or early 90's , not sure.
they make it look easy.
The best always do....
This song seems to be more poignant, now. "We were chilldren once playing with toys...."....01:35.
Yes.
2,4m views for the original, only 61k for this one, over 30yrs later, either people have died or they've lost their taste.
Tell em Steve a bout addiction
I think I just wee-weed me pants
This really misses a bass player. I saw Dave Mason a few years ago and all the bass parts were done by the keyboards. Just not the same. Don't tell me these millionaires can't afford to hire a bassist. btw best live version for me is Santa Monica 1972. Check it out on youtube....
Thanks for the suggestion of the '72 version. Dear Mr. Fantasy from that show is also excellent.
Bass guitar with the left hand.
id that david Gilmour on guitar?
Jose Neto.
Great guitar solo, but what, no organ solo?
I agree. I saw this recently. Love the piano solo in the middle. This was not as good IMO. Good but I like the other way better.
No Bass player? The drums seems like an orphan...
+Fabio Copponi No need for a bass player as the organ has bass pedals to play the bass part. The great jazz organ/guitar trios/groups never have a bass player for that reason.
I know that , very well, and i like that Jazz, but still Traffic always had a bass, and to me the best version is the one included in On the Road...Trafic is not a real Jazz band, though they often go towards the sounds of Jazz. Jazz trios can afford an organ playing the bass because of the music and because of the high quality of the musicians...my opinion of course..
Also ...if the organ is playing the bass then it is so low in volume that it is like missing it completely
+Fabio Copponi To be fair, it isn't the best sound/video recording as the audience chatter is very annoying. Have they no manners?
Ha ha ha...you are right certain people have no manners, you wonder why they go to concerts if they talk all the time...
