    My dad just recently got appointed as a director of the Uvac reservation, i've been lucky enough to get some joy rides trough the canyon and i have to say i'm blessed to be from that part of the world, wish i knew you were planning to visit, could've made some suggestions to you guys and maybe a good deal as well hah. There are around 120 newborn vultures at the moment so the numbers are thankfully growing, tend to see quite a few every time i visit. Regardless, glad you guys had enjoyed your stay and hope to see you there again.
    Also, i'm aware that some boat drivers do it cheaper than the reservation staff themselves do but i do think you might've had a slightly better experience with them as one of them does full guide tours alongside sharing all the info you may want to hear about the place.

  • @DuskoSTV
    @DuskoSTV 11 месяцев назад +7

    Oh, i forgot to mention (before they fully start enforcing it) drones aren't exactly allowed in the canyon because of vultures, i know there aren't really signs put up for it yet but you or anyone visiting should keep that in mind as reservation staff can fine you for it.

    The closest town is Sijenica not Novi Pazar. Maybe Nova Varoš.
    A few years ago we were driving from Montenegro sea coast to Belgrade when they had a massive road construction on the main road. So we decided to take a detour over Sijenica and Ivanjica and stay overnight in Sijenica so we can visit Uvac river. But not by boat and hike like you did but directly to the top by car. The day before there was a bit of rain and the road from Sijenica to the top is just a plain ground track so the ground was soft and in some spots there were potholes filled with water. The car was just a bit bigger than your VW but also a front wheel drive only (Fiat 500L). On a few places we almost got bogged in but we were lucky to reach the top and the vey place you took the shots from the view top. We didn't see any big birds as no one told us to expect to see one, but the view was just as breathtaking as yours on this video. On the way down we almost got bogged in again but we were lucky again. Though our car was completely covered with mud by the time we reached Sijenica again. Luckily there is a self carwash in Sijenica and took me an hour to wash off all the mud. If I decide to revisit this place again by car I am hiring a 4X4 car only.
    That palačinka you had was not a classic one and it is actually not a pan cake but crapes. Also it looks like it wasn't made with white flour but either corn or whole wheat flour or mix of both. Still good when your sugar level is so low after the intensive climb.
    Video is great, some shots you made are very impressive. I didn't have any drone shots when I was on the view top so now I have a complete video of our experience to show to others and glad you made it. Thanks for the upload, have many more great events in the future...

      I am pretty sure those palačinke were made with heljda ( buckwheat flour). It's very popular recipe in that part of Serbia.

    • @amarillorose7810
      @amarillorose7810 11 месяцев назад

      I think they are made from buckwheat as someone already mentioned. The thing about pancakes is that we don't have a special word for crepe and pancakes we have just "palačinke" and indeed it is type of crepe and pancakes are more that fatter that we call "američke palačinke". In Britain, what they call pancakes are often unleavened, and resemble a crêpe and in America what they call pancakes is little different and fatter so it is not wrong to call them both pancakes and crepe depending on what kind of English you speak.

    I thought meandering rivers only occurred in old landscapes with large and flat floodplains, not in places with hills.
    It's probably something associated with the cave's topography and geology shown in the video, formed from the dissolution of soluble carbonate rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum, which also favors the formation of underground drainage systems inside the caves.
