I just about cried when I finished this video, walked back out to the garage and popped one off with less effort than ever before in my 5 years of owning VWs and Audis. You sir are a gem.
i cried like a baby few minutes ago.. before this video i broke 2 of those clips off..
@@EstonianScrapper no worries for anyone who does break em...
Just zip tie em on. Works great 👍
@@Nelson4207 thanks :)
After fighting to disconnect these VW connectors for years, I watched the video, walked out to the garage, popped the hood and disconnected the MAS connector in less than a second. Thanks for taking time to make this really helpful video.
I just did the same fucking thing lol
@@aldopaints670 Same here. Having spent yonks trying to get rusty T20s out then struggled with this on the MAS connector, sorted!
@@HappyBagger any tips on the rusty T20's?
Man, I just wasted 3 hours of my life because I didn't watch your video first. Works like a charm. Thank you!!!!!
Only 3 hours?
Would not think i would need a video tutorial to undo the connector clip. But i do! Thanks man.
Battled a connector to the diverter valve in a hard to reach spot for 45 minutes... after watching video took it off in 20 seconds. Knowledge IS power, thanks for sharing!
You just saved my wifes jetta from a sledgehammer-fest... No joke
damn, that video would have gotten millions of views. Do it anyway.
Lol!
I wasn't reaching for a sledge yet, but man I feel that pain.
I thought about intentionally breaking each connector and zip tying each one.
Pesky little clips ain't enough to describe these pain in the azzez 😁
I don't care how many hands u get in there, they are a pain.
Plastic being heated up to 150 degrees plus under the hot sun with engine running then down to 0 in the winter these plastic clips feel super britte and stiff
3:45 for the answer. Thanks for waterboarding me for all that time
Seriously like just shut the fuck up and get to the goddamned point already
So why bother waste your time commenting? You're all so ignorant. The guy gave you a detailed explanation of how the clips work, because obviously you don't know how to disconnect them. Be thankful he even posted a video for your dumb ***
@@ryan33flagg3 Just busting chops, I was being helpful and playful. No need to get upset.

@@ryan33flagg3 LMFAOOO, this is the same shit I was thinking lmao
@4:00 your welcome.
Was just going to say the same!!! I was already frustrated enough after fuckin around under the car trying to remove a clip for the last hour lol.
Mindless rambling is rampant on RUclips. This could've been a 13 sec video
James Sims I love you
Hahahahaha. I saw this after I commented. LOL. Sooooooo right! LOL Classic.
So much unnecessary talking.
I spent a good 30 minutes prying and pulling on this clip. After watching this video I was able to get it off in less than 10 seconds. Thank you so very much for sharing this!!! ❤
After puzzling for an hour with my MAF connector, I can across your video. Tried it and it immediately worked. You are worth more than your weight in gold. Thanks
You are a life saver. I have been trying for the last hour to remove electrical connections from my brake sensor and brake fluid level sensor and hoping I didn't break them. Your solution works. Thanks.
Dude you just save my life I just spent an hour trying to get those clips off without breaking it I watched your video to compress first and then pull it out and it came off with ease thank you so much !!!
I LOVE YOU MAN!!! I spent 30 minutes removing my Audi Roadster panels off and then 2 hours trying to remove the fuel control module connector. Finally got to your video and in 5 seconds BAM! All done..... Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to create this tutorial, found it impossible to remove injector plug cap before watching this to understand the technique to push before pulling to release! Thank you 🥇
This video helped a lot, I could never get those clips off easily. Took less than 10 seconds with this.
Love this! I've had my Audi for almost 12 years, that is still the biggest challenge for me under the bay. Thanks boet, drive safe.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. I was really struggling with removing the alternator’s connector on a Tacoma. I did exactly what you suggested, and it worked. Thanks again.
What about if its broken? that little thing to lift up
I think you saved my day. Currently in the heat of battle with these things. Thanks !
Wow, Thank you billion times for sharing such a valuable tip. I struggled a lot on my first day of part time job I started trying to take off connectors before removing the seats. Thank you and I subscribed.
I am working on my harley that uses similar d-connectors. After an hour of looking, pulling with a few choice words thrown in, I decided to head to youtube for some tips. Your video was the perfect tip to split this type of connect apart - thanks
It’s all about that compression step. This video explained and showed the simplicity of that method so well. Really thank you, made a nightmare job into a breeze.
A thousand thanks for this, 45 minutes of struggling with one of these clips whilst trying to find answers online and after watching this video it took a second to undo. Thanks!!!
This was exactly what I needed. They came right off once I tried this. Thank you!
I did exactly what you said and it worked! No damage to the part!! Thank you so much!
Thanks!!! Was getting frustrated with a Beetle horn connector and saw your video. Came off in one second with no tools after compressing it. Lesson learned.
This is the best damn VW related video on RUclips, It don't get no better then this!
After half an hour wrestling with a wiper motor connector that I couldn't work out how to get off, this video showed me the how to do it. Pushed it in while I pressed the clip and it came out no probs. Cheers!
OMG, thank you so much for this little video, Chris, I was starting to get very frustrated with the air flow meter plug, but after watching your little video, it's just too easy :)
Thank you, I was getting very frustrated trying to remove the connector from a headlight assembly, yes a tight spot and I completely understand what you meant. Cheers!
Very helpful and well explained - thank you.
What a great video, was struggling with a connector on the clutch master cylinder at the back of the engine. After watching the video came off first go. Brilliant Thanks.
Thank you for the tip. I'm on the ground under my 2007 Touareg needing to reach up and unplug the speed sensor. Didnt want to break anything so looked up this info. This info is not even in my shop manual. Thanks so much. Push in, push down and remove!
You are a legend, just spend 10mins trying to remove a connector underneath my TT. Watched your video - Bam! Thank you :)
Thanks - Just what I needed! Replacing a TDI engine on a 2003 Jetta - lots of connectors in hard to reach places.
Exactly as described! Thank you!!!
took me an hour of trying to figure this out. 15 minutes of searching our video. 4:35 minutes in to your video walked out to my garage and it took 1 try. God send you are!
great video! Would be great if you would do a video on replacing the coil Pack wiring harness for longitudinal engines. I have a 2002 Jetta 1.8turbo
Thank you. In wich cars we can use that technic? Some of them have an additional metallic wire embrassing the connector. Others we only need to press de connector and pull out.
Just saved me from ripping off my maf connector in frustration!!! Thanks for saving my sanity. It worked a treat!
Thank you so much. As soon as you mentioned the orange grommet, I realised what I'd been doing wrong. You are a star! 😊👍🌟
Just bought a used Mk4 Jetta 1.8T for a good price last week, my first VW so wasn't sure how these connectors worked.. Thanks, probably saved me from breaking one in frustration. :)
I couldn’t get it at all, even watching the video couldn’t get it but when you showed on the car it helped.
It seems when you press it and lift the tab, the tab doesn’t seem to move but just pull the connector up anyway with the tab lifted as well and pops right off! Thanks man!
I was getting very upset with procedures that simply said "remove electrical connector" with no explanation of HOW. Awesome video! You should do more of these for the other connector types! I tried a couple of hours to remove it, then found this video and had my connector (high pressure diesel fuel connector on Diesel Porsche Cayenne) removed in 15 seconds! Thank you sir!
Thanks for the video! Helped me take off the connector on my Triumph Moto!
Thank you very much for making this video. Simple but very necessary to know.
Great tip! Thanks for this.
thank you, great, simple and straight to the point!
This is an awesome video about VW Coil Connector Repair thx Chris
this video was incredibly helpful. thank you.
Omg...that foopin easy!!! Got to admit...I often don't want to work on my favorite ever cars just because of this simple problem that you explained so well that even in a difficult spot...it came out like butter!!
Cheers mate!!! Subscribed to your channel!!💯👍
Yooooo.... you just saved me so much heartache. I've broken and had to repair so many of these in the past. That technique works for real.
Mate, This is the best video on any platform! One i saw your video i was able to remove the connector in seconds, and that was after messing with the clip for sometime! I am now subscribed to your site!
Thank you !!! 🍻 I've always wondered how tf to get them off
Thank you sooo much! You wouldn't believe how hard this info is to find. People either understand how they work and assumes everyone else knows or like me couldn't for the life of me fugure out how to tske them off.
A pleasure to look at and helpful!
You saved my life! ( and hands ) Thank you !!!!
Very helpful info, thanks.
Epic!! You helped me remove injector connectors easily! Thanks 😁
This video is great it work exactly like you said it would thanks alot
Thank you! Excellent video! Working on a Porsche Cayenne oil pressure sensor. Came right off with your tip!
Mate just saved me a load of hassle. Thanks from London, fixing old MK4 golf.Cheers
Damn man... Thank you, you are a time life saver... For real !
I'm stuck. I've been trying to remove my coolant fan connectors on my 07 audi a8l for three days and nothing works. There are only two to remove. But I've tried this method and got no where also. Are they a different kind of connector maybe?
You just saved my Saturday. Thanks!
Dude. I can’t tell you how much this just helped me. 🙏
Thank You! Was trying to disconnect MAF sensor wiring to move the MAF’s and air ducts out of way to replace my VW’s twin Air Filters. Should be a 5 minute job, but there’s no room in there and the vacuum lines run atop the passenger side air box. I am getting low airflow codes in the VAG COM. Cheers.
Gday from Australia,
Thanks for taking the time to make and post this vid. Audi connectors really have been a pain in the past. I’ll be working on the wife’s Q7 tomorrow and I can’t wait to try this. Thank you Sir, I owe you a beer,
Cheers 🍻
Bro you’re a life saver… i was taking off a loom from nissan navara and was fed up with these connector.
Omg. My brotha, thanks. Just wasted an hour and was trying to use the hook you told us not to use. My temp was rising which usually means ima break somethin. God bless
Great video.. Following your instructions I had the pesky connector removed before your presentation was complete
You are a life saver mate, thanks so so much!
Awesome tip, works great!
Man!! Thank you greatly for this video! Finally got them DAMN cam angle sensors replaced!!
So easy to do with this help - thanks for stopping me breaking any more clips
MY MAN!!! Yo, you saved me Soo much trial and error, frustration, broken stuff, etc! Thank you! I'm def. subscribing to your channel!
Ha ha .... I'm watching this video holding a pick tool. I simply press on and pull and it popped off in .2 seconds!! Thank you sooo much!
Which size worktul terminal pick did you use in the kit?
Awesome so simple, I’ve struggled for years with those. Just watched this & went out & popped one off in 2 secs 👍
This helped me a lot! on a new beetle. So I subscribed.
YOU, good sir, are a true hero.
Just the video i was looking for. Thank you
you are a life and fingertip saver! thank you
Awesome, spent hours trying to get to the connector below the coils off and looking for a pick tool and already broke some plastic off. Alot easier when you know how to do it.
there a good way to get one off that has a broken tab?
What a great little video! Thanks man!
After an hour and a half we couldn't separate a tab from a custom Eagle Eye light for Chevy S10 after watching this video and butchering it a little bit the connector I want up pushed it in which I tried previously but not to the way he shows and it came right off with my bare hands not the wrenches we all had out thank you for the video awesome brother
You are a god damn hero. I was going nuts last week disconnecting the bottom sensor from the JB1 on my wife's Golf R.
The best video on the internet!!!! (I’m changing my spark plugs).
I have a question what if the little clip that you lift is allready broken then how can you remove it from the coil? Can you stick a flat screwdriver or pick tool in between the coil and ignition coil connector to remove it from the coil?
Thank you so much for this video. Totally saved me!!!
I will give it a try thanks for the tip
This was just what I needed, I have stuffed these plugs before and received punctured fingers in the process, thank you
Thanks a million for this video!!!!!
Very good information.
Thanks man! Huge help!
Men... you really nailed it. Thanks a lot. If you ever are in town (Puebla), please let me know. I owe you a Beer...🍻.
Legend, thank you thank god I watch this video first, thanks man 👍🏻
Omg this works so well… just saved me on my current project
How about the ones that don't have the clip in the middle?
For example the headlight connector on a stock headlight on a vw gti 06?
How do you get the connector off with a snapped clip? Previous owner was clearly an ape and now can’t get one of mine off? Shall I just pull it really hard or what
