I'm loving the results of both, the Corraled gets too hot for me but the Airsrait temps are perfect. I'm getting closer and closer to finally purchasing the Airsrait.
I have been using the airstrait all summer on my thick, curly hair and have been amazed how straight it gets with NO FRIZZ, wet to dry. LOVE IT! I tried it out on my sister’s thick, wavy hair at the beach, and she was shocked that she went an entire day and woke up the next morning with it still straight and without frizz! It definitely works on other hair types as well. 😊
Hair always get's frizzy when the humidity is high, no hairtool can prevent that ever / can not compete with that Because the hair scales then open, where the moisture comes in between and your own hair structure can be seen. if you don't have curls but your hair is curled, it will be straight and vice versa. this is also why your hair lasts longest when you style it from wet or damp to dry and that it always sags when it gets damp.
I’d be interested to see a test of the corrale on blow dried hair vs the airstraight starting on wet hair to see if using it straight from wet is more like using conventional straighteners in terms of effectiveness and volume.
I like the Airstrait. Bought one yesterday and will be trying it this weekend. I am going to blow dry my roots with my supersonic dryer first for more volume at the crown. Don’t want anymore hot plates, that is why I chose the Airstrait
I live in a tropical climate and the Airstraight actually prevents my hair from frizzing, unlike the Corral. What the Corral does that my Airstraight can’t do, is curl and beach wave my hair. So for that reason, both are worth keeping. But for beach waves, I use the Airstraight, then go back in with the Corral.
Love the video good information and above all you stick with the point a lot of time RUclipsrs just talk about everything else than the product so thank you for not wasting anybody’s time giving all the good information
Airstrait is DEFINITELY the way to go! The only benefit of the Corrale, that I see, is the cordless feature. If the Airstrait was cordless, it would be PERFECT!! 👏 Thanks for the review!! 😊
I have finally decided to buy the airstrait after such a long time debating it. When it first came out, I was skeptical of it. I mean, it's a tool that works in a way that we haven't seen before. We're all used to traditional flat irons that have hot plates. What made me drawn to it initially was the fact that it is less heat damage. I am mixed, half white half black. My mom always straighted my curly hair as a kid because she didn't know what else to do with it. My hair is naturally very frizzy, curly and thick. So even when i got older and did my own hair, I straighted it every day before school (unfortunately neither my mom or I used heat protectant because we didn't know what we were doing). A few years ago, I stopped straightening it because i noticed there were sections of my hair that were so much shorter than the rest, my hair had gradually broken off from heat damage over the years. So, I tried wearing my hair curly for a year or two up until a few months ago. It was a nightmare trying to figure out how to wear my curls nice. I wasted so much money on so many different products (gels, creams, mousse, leave ins etc) and couldn't find ANYTHING that did the trick. My curls always turned out frizzy, undefined, and dull. So, finally i decided I would go back to straightening it. I decided I would do it the right way with heat protectant and not as often. I wash my hair once a week and use a nourishing hair masque, I use a good protectant and then let it air dry for HOURS to avoid using too much heat. Even after 7+ hours my hair still has some damp spots, so normally i have to go in with the dryer and touch up on some of it. THEN, I straighten it which usually takes another hour and a half. Basically my whole day is spent doing my hair. If I get this I can wash my hair, dry it soon after and go right to straightening it and it won't be as damaging as 400+ degrees going directly onto my hair. I am excited to try it. I hope it works well for me. I have seen very mixed reviews. For my hair type, i'm not sure if I will get the results i am looking for, but i will give it a go.
Thank you so much for this helpful review. I have not used any straighteners but love my Dyson Airwrap and so I wanted to try a Dyson straigtener. I am going to try the Airstraight because I do want a little more body. It is confusing to read about them online. Your review really helped. I also want to avoid a traditional straightener because I am worried about hair damage.
I purchased the Dyson AirStrait for my Wife last Christmas brand new from Best Buy and she barely uses it because of the weight (AirStrait @ 2.20 lbs vs Corrale @ 1.23 lbs). She will ask me to do it for her. If I'm not around, she uses her (cheap) twisting hair straightener brush from Walmart. Therefore, I'm thinking about selling the 9 month old Dyson AirStrait which was used maybe 4x total.
Great review!! I have all the dyson hair tools with the airstrait being the newest addition to my dyson hair tool family. I have fine but curly textured hair that is highlighted so heat protection and less damage is very important to me. You are correct, the airstrait will not leave curly textured hair ready for the day, as one will need to follow-up with a heat tool, like the Corrale for a more polished look. Personally, I do not love the AirStrait as a wet to dry hair tool for a couple reasons. One, it takes too long to get my hair dry since o have to use much smaller sections than I would with my SuperSonic or Airwrap. Two, I still have to follow-up with a hot tool, like my Corrale. With that, I have found the best way for my hair type is to blow dry my hair with either the SuperSonic or Airwrap then use the Airstrait. It leaves me with a beautifully smooth look and if I want more body, I will just pin curl it and it looks gorgeous. Also, I live in Virginia where it is very humid and I find that using the Airstrait my hair is far more humidity resistant than with a flat iron alone. Thanks for yet another thorough review!!!❤
You know, you can use the air straight for a blow out look. Just put a roller in each section after your dry it. Make sure your hair is still hot. I’m guessing you could do the same thing on dry hair. Smaller the roller the more curl you get.
I never thought to do that but it definitely makes me want the air straight more, currently on a break from all heat tools to let my hair grow at maximum with minimal trims for the next year and I also need a reason to reward myself with the air straight 😂
Thank you 🙏 you answered both my questions. More body is what I’d like on straight hair, and I will keep my Dyson straightener because it’s versatile as I can wave/curl/straighten/do touch ups. Awesome review 😃
Like both sides when finished with each tool 😘 but they're too expensive. I purchased the Dyson Super Sonic Hairdryer a few years ago now and couldn't bring myself to purchasing an expensive hair tool again 😔. I love the comparison video's so much 💕.
Ok I love the air straight but for someone who is very particular about the roots I feel like the córrale works better for curly hair. My hair is treated with magic sleek, so when I want to delay a touch up I use the air straight on the new growth. However, I find that it doesn’t get as straight as the rest of my hair. It’s great for drying and maintaining volume for the already straight pieces, but it’s not very precise!! Also love how to córrale is very much portable, doesn’t make noise, and super styler! I will say the air straight works as a two in one, you don’t need a hair dryer at all :)
The cordless mode is a huge plus regardless the temp etc etc on airstrait, not to mention the noise is not worth anytime near my ear. I have the airwrap one and honestly the noise is killing me everytime I use it near my ears
I use my airstrait the next day on dry hair (and wet hair), i stopped using straighteners completely. It looked so flat and dull with a straightener vs airstrait. Airstrait has body, it is shiny and looks healthier in my opinion.
I have 1B hair. I think I’ll save up some money to buy the Dyson Airstraight. I love that it’s less damaging and will work wonders on my fine, thin, straight-ish hair.
My Corrale died twice due to battery defect. First time it died, they sent a refurbished replacement and second time it died they didn’t provide any help. $500 wasted. All and all, didn’t even last 2 years. Not happy with Dyson about this.
Same here. Really annoying that it died so quickly after paying $500. Plus, I felt the Corrale snagged my hair. I will not replace the Corrale. I think I will try the Airstrait.
Mine died 4 times already N Now I'm waiting for the replacement one 5th time. Also My experience with customer service was great. They ordered replacement one straight away. Hope it won't die again in 3 months T it's gonna be my 5th Corrale!
Thanks for the comparison. For your hair type, both have very similar result so I think airstrait wins coz the high temperature of straightener causes heat damage over time but airstrait technology is hot air. The question is, how long it lasts with that look? I’m sure the straightener will be the winner. I use different hair straighter, my hair stays sleek and straight until I wash it
Wonderful video, you are excellent at explaining things, thank you. I feel the same as you, love both tools, but my fave is the air strait side on you. These tools are both excellent at their jobs 🎉, talk about versatility 🎉
I've got super long, thick and naturally curly hair so the Airstrait just doesn't work for me at all. It leaves my hair frizzy and takes forever to style it. I need to go over my hair with a straightener afterwards if I want it to look "finished". It also then goes super frizzy if I go out in humidity. And makes my hair feel a bit like it has a weird coating on it, like not the smooth sleek way you normally have after straightening. I have the Supersonic hairdryer, the Airwrap and the Corrale. I definitely prefer using the Airwrap with the flat brush attachment to dry it mostly straight and then I'll go over it with my straightener to give the shine. I agree that the Airstrait isn't for every hair tyoe. The Airstrait also weighs a tonne and the plug on it is huge which makes it super inconvenient for travel. I think if you have thin and mostly straight hair, the Airstrait would be perfect, otherwise, you'll be using it as a hairdryer and straightening your hair afterwards
I had the GHD cordless and it was shocking for the money. It wasn't great for straightening and the charge ran flat so quickly and my hair is shoulder length. I'd say the Dyson would be better, only good thing about the GHD it was small and light.
I wonder why there are two different devices with the same logic. The "Airwrap" has removable attachments, so (if you manufacture something like that) the "Airstrait" attachment would be attached to the "Airwrap" Why buy two different devices with the same logic, paying a lot of money separately?
Pls discuss the technical side too like the maximum heat setting they provide and the copper plates used for corrale. I feel copper plates damage your hair less.

Did you apply any tension while using the airstrate? I have the air wrap and when I want to dry and straighten my hair I have to pull on my ends and run the dryer hard to achieve that straight look.
Does it get super hot? My 12 year old daughter wants straighteners but I’m worried about the super hot ones you can buy and it burns her. Any feedback would be great. Thank you
I love all your videos. Even though Dyson is out of my price range, I appreciate the information. Also, please share the nail polish color you are wearing.
❤ could you please do a review and do wet hair to dry please, cause that is the part I’m really interested in. I hate having to draw my hair and then straighten it as well! 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve hear that most of us have more hair on one side of the head than the other. Maybe that’s why you feel that there is more volume on the Hairstrait side.
Dyson Corrale - Had two fail in 3 Years - one fail 2 mths after warranty Dyson then give us a seconded set - they failed yesterday - So bought another Pair - So after 3 years we are on our 3 sets - Yes they great but need to last longer
Can you do a review of this: One Step Air Straight & Straightening Dryer, IG INGLAM 200M Ionic Hair Dryer Straightener it looks like it is a dupe for the Dyson Airstrait
I want to try the Airstrait but I struggle with carpel tunnel syndrome, my hand gets a bit tired from normal straightener. Does anyone know if the airstrait is harder to handle? Thanks!

Can you please do a review of Luxx Air Pro and Dyson airwrap? I saw the ads, and it seems like a decent dupe for Dyson.

Would you recommend the airstrait or coralle when someone already has the airwrap? The results of the airwrap doesnt last tho.
