Just finished my first bag. Love it, perfect size! Now I can make more for family and friends. I bought this pattern because it had a video tutorial. I had purchased another pattern, but the written pattern was just too hard to follow. Your video helped so much, especially if you’ve never made a lined bag before.
Thank you for another brilliant video. I would have never started sewing any bag without video tutorials and now sewing brings me such joy. Can’t wait to make this one
Hi! I just got the chance to sit and watch your video while I do more hand quilting. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
I sewed this fanny pack. What an excellent pattern, and I could not have completed this bag without your amazing tutorial. It came out so well. Thank you for sharing your talent and sewing tips.😄
Totally agree!!!! I can't wait!!! But I've seen the attachments they put ON that iPhone, wild huh?? Still should be awesome to see!! THANK you for this awesome video ComeGeekSome! 🥳
Thank you Oklaroots for the tutorial and Kandoupatterns; for allowing Jess to do a tutorial and especially for the 20% off discount! Looking forward to making this bag.
Just made my second one of these. Thank you so much for your brilliant video, made the medium one to start made a few mistakes but the second one is the best thing i have ever sewn its for my husband so used all over black faux leather with a red water resistant lining he loves it.thank you again .
Thank you thank you thank you for this tutorial! I love the bag I made and am sending it to my daughter in Michigan who requested something like this awhile ago. You are amazing at these videos and I love KandouCrafts patterns .
Watched this excellent tutorial. Bought the pattern. Made my first one yesterday. Finished the strap this morning. I used Ottertex for the exterior and ripstop for the linings. Next one will be better. But excellent instructions in the video tut.
Oh my goodness!!!! I've been hoping you were going to do a tutorial for this one! I've had the pattern for a few weeks. I was even going to message you asking if you were going to film it!!! Can't wait to do a sew along while re-watching this tutorial. Thank you so so so much!!!
Excellent tutorial as always. Will be making this soon. I am a Scottish, every time it is said, not just you but other bag makes, I always smile and think only if yous knew lol x
OMGEEEEE! Was just planning on making the other “urban carry-all” ( won’t say fanny pack) and stopped in my tracks when you posted this video. I’m so STINKIN’ EXCITED to do this! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us! Also… please share a link for your iron. And I apologize if it’s already linked and my brain just didn’t see it.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I just came back from holiday and found my (purchased) hypsta pouch was ripped. I bought the pattern and followed your tutorial from start to finish. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you!
Love your teaching style - love your channel! Made this bag (using cork and 100% cotton on the outside with waterproof vinyl for the lining) on my domestic Bernina 740 with no issues! Thanks for the video!! Pam
Jess + Kandou = WOOHOO. As always Jess a great tutorial. I’ve been wearing a hip pack for over 20 yrs. Guess I was trendy and didn’t even know it. Now I can make the coolest one ever with fun vinyl. Thanks for the coupon code.
About 20 years? Me too! I started when I was teaching in a school where there were several purses stolen. Harder for anyone to steal what you’re wearing.
Okay! This is so beautiful ❤️ I appreciate your attention to detail. Your directions and explanations are top notch. Adding this to my list of bags I want to make. (I'm still in the thinking stages but seeing you do this is such a confidence booster. Not that you make it look too easy, but that you explain and encourage.)
This is great! Thank you for the video. I already ordered the soft vinyl from sewhungryhippie. She has fabulous colors and it does behaves like fabric.
Thanks for the tutorial! I've made this twice so far following your video - once in oilcloth and once in leather (butterball from Hide House). It works great in leather! I did not skive.
I always swore I would never resort to wearing one of these but… we’re taking a trip in a few months and I think it might be a good idea to have one. At least I can make it with my choice of fabrics 😊. I bought and printed the pattern, now I need to get to work.
Yep I think In Australia our meaning for fanny must be the same as the UK lol. Hipster pack sounds great! Love the video, I’m looking forward to making one.
can't wait to try this one! I think I might try working on that top flap with the zipper completely separated from the bottom and then put the pull on 🤔 🤞
Love your tutorial on this bag! I love the bag so much! My first two bags were no so good (all because of me). I am on my 5th bag now, and they are sooooo dang cute! I love your channel so much! You are amazing!
I'm so glad you explained that Fanny means different things to different countries. We in Australia call it a Bum bag - says it all huh?!😂. Did you know that "Fanny" was once a girl's name? I think it was short for Frances🤔. I think this will be an awesome bag for hands free outings and concerts. Thankyou of doing this video.
Thank you for your tutorial. Would seperating your zipper and sewing it to the top flap be easier? After you sew your pieces together and top stitch, then add zipper pull. This way your zipper is not in the way. I really like this pattern.😃
You teach very well. Your art is very beautiful. Please note the size or put the pattern on the site so that we can create a beautiful bag like you. Hugs and hugs.
Very cute pattern 💖 can you do a post on how to make the sewfisticated be hip bag? Thank you for all that you do. Definitely gives me more confidence in making bags😁
I absolutely love love love your most thorough video tutorial on this great pattern. I was breezing along and everything fitting together nicely until I came to the strap connector exterior and lining. When I sew on they are not matching up well. They are off and do not want to lay flat when turned to top stitch. Any advice on what could have gone wrong? Thank you.
Can you recommend how you set up the larger top spool of thread on your Berninna? Do you use a stand alone spool holder, if so what brand do you recommend?
I’m in the process of finishing my first Fanny pack. I used quilt cotton with decovil light and it’s been a challenge. I think the more flexible vinyl and spec would have been a better way to start.
Love love love this video, so incredibly helpful, especially the little tweaks you choose to do over the actual written pattern. Very grateful, thank you so much. One tiny little thing bugs me though (and I hear it lots of places, words that begin with "ST" are said as if it is "SHT," like "shtrap" and "shtraight." Maybe it's just me, but it's so distracting.
I didn’t have nylon webbing, so I used cotton. Made a simple faux leather strap end and stitched in place. I want to order the rivets. What actually should I order from Kam snap? Can I punch through cotton webbing? Will I need a longer rivet?

I’m loving making this bag. Thank you for the video….but, I’m making a fabric strap with swivel hooks and need to make the D-ring strap connectors and can’t figure out how to make & connect them. How /where do they go in? I know it’s just something I’m not getting….help 🙃
I wish you could do another one: the rikka of hansedelli. i made 4 of them and I can't get the topcorners right! it s in german but with your experience: must be a piece of cake (not for me!)
What interfacing I should use I’m us cotton fabric so what the better interfacing I should use I have sf101 shape flex interfacing and 931TD fusible mind weight interfacing and fusible interfacing ultra lightweight interfacing and fusible fleece 987FPKG and that what I have all I have I’m trying to make the Fanny pack and I don’t have the vinyl you are use I just have cotton fabric
Posted 30 seconds and there have already been 40 views. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that stalks the channel for new bags!!! :)
Every Monday!

Enjoyed the tutorial. The fairy you mentioned on the fabric is Tinker Bell!!
This is great! Thank you for the video. I already ordered the soft vinyl from sewhungryhippie. She has fabulous colors and it does behaves like fabric.
I admire your skill, techniques and teaching. I've been sewing for a lot of years, but this is like sewing together a sky scraper :)
Thanks for the tutorial! I've made this twice so far following your video - once in oilcloth and once in leather (butterball from Hide House). It works great in leather! I did not skive.
Wow! What I was looking for and can’t wait to make this. Thank you sooo much Jess ur the best. 😃
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I got so frustrated trying to make this pattern, but it's been relatively easy, and fun, following this video!
Thank you Jess your a great teacher the way you explain it all..
I always swore I would never resort to wearing one of these but… we’re taking a trip in a few months and I think it might be a good idea to have one. At least I can make it with my choice of fabrics 😊. I bought and printed the pattern, now I need to get to work.
“More than your basic fanny” had me in stitches. I’m a Brit so you know what it means to me 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 me too
Must be horrid for some one named Frances (with the feminine "e") nicknamed Fanny (old fashioned) instead of Franny.
Made me laugh😂
I’m so glad it’s not just me 😂
Thanks a lot for this wonderful video, I woudn't have succeded this much in my sewing without your help :)
Yep I think In Australia our meaning for fanny must be the same as the UK lol. Hipster pack sounds great! Love the video, I’m looking forward to making one.
Wow! I actually made this bag! I’d post a pic if I could. Thank you!
It's going on my list! I need one for myself ☺ Thank u for making another great bag 👌
can't wait to try this one! I think I might try working on that top flap with the zipper completely separated from the bottom and then put the pull on 🤔 🤞

Finally got to make this bag! It was such a fun pattern. Can’t wait to make more and less mistakes 😂😂

I’ve been so excited for this tutorial and cannot make to make this!!!
It cracks me up to see people wear them as cross body bags. My step mother always wore hers as a cross body. I guess that was 25 or 30 years ago.
I don't think I could ever carry one across my body like that 😂
My Mum wear one as a cross body bag, as she is a wheelchair user, so easier for her x
Love this pattern and great film made such an excellent tutorial.

So cute! I have to make this ❤👍🤗
I’m in the process of finishing my first Fanny pack. I used quilt cotton with decovil light and it’s been a challenge. I think the more flexible vinyl and spec would have been a better way to start.

Hi, thanks for the great video, makes it so fun! My question: if I want this fanny pack to be a waist bag, how long should the webbing straps be?
I was hoping you’d make this one! 😀
Tell me about that iron!!!!
Hi Jess, this is an amazing video and so easy to follow! Thanks so much. Wondering if the strap connectors would fit 1.5" webbing instead of 1.25"?
Can't wait to make this! btw, where's the zipper tape from? 🤔🤙🏼
Just brought the Pattern..can't wait to make a fanny pouch 😂 I'm a Brit...you made me giggle 😂
Made me giggle too. 🇬🇧
Would like to know where you got your zipper pull, if you don't mind. (the castle one) Thank you!
So cool is this something that can done with regular home sewing machines
I love it! It has everything I want!
HA! Im making the Lemontree waist bag by bagstock, and i call it my fancy fanny pack 🙃
I didn’t have nylon webbing, so I used cotton. Made a simple faux leather strap end and stitched in place. I want to order the rivets. What actually should I order from Kam snap? Can I punch through cotton webbing? Will I need a longer rivet?
Well done!

I love that it’s not too deep at the top.
I’m loving making this bag. Thank you for the video….but, I’m making a fabric strap with swivel hooks and need to make the D-ring strap connectors and can’t figure out how to make & connect them. How /where do they go in? I know it’s just something I’m not getting….help 🙃
Wayyyyyy beyond my skill level. Very cute.
Mine too x
What brand of iron are you using. It is too cute.
Do you think the Oly Fun Fabric would work for the lining?
LOVE YOUR VIDEO. PLEASE CAN YOU GIVE ME THE SITE WHERE I CAN BUY THE PAPER PATTERN FOR THIS FANNY PACK.
Hi Jess, excellent tutorial, thank you. Please can you tell the model number of your sewing machine?
Thank you. Great job.
I wish you could do another one: the rikka of hansedelli. i made 4 of them and I can't get the topcorners right! it s in german but with your experience: must be a piece of cake (not for me!)
when are you adding the strap connectors
Maybe you can consider other handcrafted crafts and products, such as embroidery, or custom clothing, custom phone cases
Omg, YES!!!! So cute!
Want to make out of quilted fabric hope it works
I would love to know, how to make this bag w/o a back zipper pocket. And with no raw seems inside. PLEASE.
can we use quilting cotton
If I use cotton or canvas should I interface? What do you suggest for a quality feel.
Hello, I would like to know if I use regular cotton fabric what king of interfacing I need to use to make this pattern.
Where do you get the glow vinyl? Great bag.
Love it 💖
That is the cutest tiny iron! Is it cordless? Were did you get it??
How fun! May I ask where you get your leather/vinyl markers?
Hi Jesse how do you get the zipper to be stiff looking mine kind of is smoochy, do you use stabilizer on it and what do you use? Thank you...
Jess where do you purchase your zipper tape and zipper pulls?
Where can I purchase the lighter that you use to singe the ends of the webbing?
Where do I get grommets? Pliers? Thank you!
