Thanks KimberlyAnn. I figure most people are there for the "how to assemble" part and know how to use a machine. So I don't want to make the video any longer than it has to be. I prefer shorter, to the point videos myself so I try to create them that way too. Glad you enjoyed. 😊
Thank you so much! I love this hack and your instructions are the easiest to follow. I just finished mine and I even added some fringe around the bottom. Now I’m excited to try it out. 😉
Great tutorial! this is the easiest bag I have made in quite awhile! Love how it turned out and will be making lots more! I also tried the clear vinyl with the top zipper and sorry to say it didn't turn out well...luckily I didnt use that much to make it and picked it apart and saved the zippers!I am going to try it again!
Great tutorial. Thank you! I am now making the second one using your method and am struggling with the V section where the connectors are attached. After pondering, I think that I will use a smaller D-ring, perhaps a 3/4", (20mm), instead of a 1 " because in the original pattern, there is more wiggle room because there is not a seam for the zipper nor is there 1/8" topstitched. Has anyone else had the same problem?
It is definitely a bit tight in that area because of the zip. 3/4" hardware would be perfect if you have them. Just adjust the width of the strap if you are doing it the way I do. Or if you are using the d-ring and swivel connector you can have whatever width strap you like. 😊
Thank you for your great video, i have bought the pattern but will also have a zipper in top like this hach😊 is it right understood that i need 2 more back lining and a zipper for the hach??
Yes that's correct. 2 from the back main panel but in your lining fabric. In the description are the details of each thing that is extra or different. 😊
When I first bought this pattern on line I assumed there was a top zipper that just was not visible and was surprised that there was not. Thanks so much for this hack. Wouldn't you have to make the lining back - the one that is part of the original pattern - taller - if you made the top lining the same size as the top outer when you make the original outside zipper? That lining piece matches up with the shorter top part, you know what I mean? I would think the linking piece would be 1/4 inch too short.
Hi Dawn, if you expand the description box there is an edit for that little measurement and all the pieces listed to cut. Sorry I couldn't update the video, maybe one day I will do a new one and make a few changes.
Thanks! I see that it looks a bit tricky where you fit the webbing in close to the zippers. Would it be a good idea to cut those top corners a little wider to allow more room for the 1" webbing
Absolutely. You could add 1/4" to the top of the top front, top front lining, back and 2 lining back pieces to account for the SA of adding the top zipper. Or alternatively, reduce the size of your strap connectors to 3/4" with slightly smaller D rings.
Thanks, you did a great tutorial very easy to follow and understand. Just on question you mentioned some seam allowances but not all so are the others as in the pattern? Now I can finally make the top zipper hack😃
Sorry Mary. I sometimes forget to mention them but yes all seam allowances are in the written pattern. I used 1/4" for the top zipper and I think most of them are 1/4" anyway.
I personally haven't but lots of others have definitely made all vinyl exteriors. There isn't really any super thick sections so it shouldn't be too tricky. Good luck.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial, just what I was looking for. I am just wondering if you added any length to the back liner piece ? Mine doesn’t seem to fit ? Just wondering if I missed something along the way. Thanks so much for your help ❤
@@whatastitchup.creations It is the back liner piece, it is shorter so if I match the top it doesn’t fit around the bottom edges ! I don’t know what I did. Thank you for replying so quickly.
Where can I get this pattern with a double zipper? I've tried to do it with Dayna's regular boss, but I can't get it. Do you have a link where I can get it?
There isn't a separate pattern. It's a Hack of the original. So you need to use the pattern pieces from the original and modify them or cut extra pieces as required in the video. Hope that helps.
@@whatastitchup.creations So the same pieces that I used for the normal part are the same ones that I'm going to use for the second part that is above because it's for the double zipper, right? How much more measure did you use sideways or upwards?
The 2 extra lining pieces are the same as the back exterior piece. The top front lining piece is cut the same as the top front exterior piece instead as it's a 1/4" taller. The only other bit to cut taller is the lining for the back of the front pocket. It should be 1/4" taller.
Haha I know it sounds funny but if you google it you'll get a picture. It's a little wedge tool that you put under the front or back of your foot as you sew when the height of what you are sewing changes. So you can keep the pressure consistant on the low bit as your foot wouldn't be touching it.
Very nice hack - I will definitely add this extra zipper pocket to my next make
I think your tutorial is better than the designer's! And thank you so much for skipping over your actual sewing. You're gotten a new subscriber!

Sew glad you made this Video. Your instructions, organization and quality video make it easy to follow. One of the best Hacks I have seen.
Extremely helpful video, made it so easy to be successful. Thanks so much, the top zipper is a must.
Thank you 😍 I hadn't tried the Dayna bc it was only the front zip, but having this top zip makes the bag far.more useful for me.
This is my favorite hack. Thank you!
Excellent instruction clearly presented. You’re a natural teacher. Hope you create more vids. Really a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing 👍 Very much appreciated 👍 🙏
You are a very gifted sewist and teacher. Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
Thanks so much, your instructions were excellent, I enjoyed watching this very much and love the extra zip pocket. You make it looks so easy!
I love to follow your videos. You are clear and concise in your instructions. Thank you!

Question so you only cut 2 extra pieces of back lining that are not in the original pattern and the zipper tabs?
Yep. Plus the top front liner piece is cut the same as the exterior and not shorter like in the original.
