Been living in Thailand for 17 years, 6 on Samui, 3 in Chiang Mai and the rest in Pattaya. It's a great place to live as long as you live on the east side where all the expats are (The Darkside), great bars, restaurants, schools, parks, markets etc. We only go into town to shop or have a mooch about. Looking at Pattaya city and Jomtien is a waste for people looking to live here long term, those areas are for tourists and oil workers that come and go on tourist visas, they don't represent Pattaya as whole by a long shot. I much prefer living here to Samui or Chiang Mai, everything I want is within 10 or 15 minutes reach, it's set up for western expats. Plus the air is way cleaner than CM all year round and we don't have to deal with quite so many elephant pant wearing pseudo-hippies. BTW, prices are way cheaper on the East side of town over the railway, bars, food, everything.

    Mate you’re a legend and 100% spot on 👌
I’m 36 from London and off to Bangkok and Pattaya for 3 weeks in November
I’m quite successful being a business owner and a decent looking lad now single and I went at Christmas for the first time to Pattaya In 2023 for 2 weeks with 5k spending thinking I’d need all that and OH MY DAYS
I watched 100’s of videos before coming, and all a load of crap because when you arrive their, it’s like visiting Blackpool at night but during the day you see the after math and all the sad cases with £20 to their name lost and drunk and mentally gone and nobody shows that side
I must of been approached by I swear 20 people all from the UK 40+ with a hard luck story!! I couldn’t even sit at a bar and by myself and a lady a drink without 5 men shouting WON THE LOTTO HAVE WE I was sitting their thinking, this is meant to be a luxury holiday for me as I work 14 hour days running a business and I thought I’d let my hair down, it was anything but and it was like I’d flown on holiday to a poverty stricken UK job centre
All old miserable bxxxxxxxrds, all lazy bxxxxxxrds and all of which run to Pattaya to find something or someone yet end up walking around hating, being unfriendly and it’s a shame
It’s a very very strange place and hard to describe to people as videos don’t do it justice, don’t get me wrong you can meet some top people and lovely women as I did, but word of warning IF YOU DONT HAVE MONEY HERE it’s a very lonely place as its poverty stricken really and these Thai women want money not love, so it’s a sad place really
But yes overall visiting Bangkok in December was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done and I met an absolute stunner and we spent 2 weeks togther going to restaurants, clubs, etc and if I can advice anything to people it would be to stay in Bangkok near nana plaza and go on day trips via taxi to Pattaya as it’s 1.5 hours away and you can be back in Bangkok before 7pm getting ready to go out their
Pattaya for a 35 year old now is like going to Blackpool, once you’ve done it all it takes its toll on you and apart from the women which you can find anywhere in Thailand, there’s nothing else to see or do their
Probally the most normal vlog I’ve seen mate as most tell lies, hype it up, or fill people with all the negatives

Living in Thailand is a bit different then a holiday though buddy. People do live in Pattaya and Jomtien on a budget.
Sounds like you had great time mate.

They are packed and sweaty and can take up to an hour in the Pattaya direction because of the road works. A motorbike taxi would be 80 baht but worth the extra imo.
