As a builder / designer for 30 yrs, and a few yrs of researching building in PH, I would just about clone this house for myself. I think wood grain floors absolutely kick this place up a few notches and gives it a western comfortable feel as opposed to the ugly stamped fake marble. It makes it a whole different house. I'm taking note of that awesome gazebo too. Good job man.☮️🤘🏼

The gazebo is great. I designed and installed my own solar power system. It is installed next to patio which has a balcony above it. The solar array is 6"6" high on the low side away from the house and the side next to the house is at the level of the balcony floor 10"8". It's 65' long and 15' wide. About 40' has cement under it. We also built a grill/dirty kitchen with a roof at the end of the solar array (the end by the patio). So basically it's like a gazebo. Wife hung lights all around the bottom of the array. We have a patio table and chairs on the patio and 4 of those folding bench/tables we bought at S&R, the same ones they sell at Costco in the US. Our second floor where we have a family room, master bedroom, and 2 rooms for our twins has mahogany wood floors. All 5 bedrooms and the maids room have CR's. We have a 1/2 circular staircase which has a 1/2 bath under it. We live in Lipa, Batangas where the weather is usually very nice (basically the same as Tagaytay which is 17 miles as the crow flies. We live in a gated and guarded golf community. Very few houses here have bars on the windows. We've been here 3 1/2 years. Very quiet neighborhood, you don't hear roosters, dogs, trikes or jeepneys. Lastly just an observation - when I see my fellow USA brethren in PHI , I do notice the 'noise' - as you stated, noise comes from roosters, motorbikes, trikes, jeepneys, vehicles - the noise is no bueno - I'm glad in my city here in USA there is an actual law that prohibits roosters in the city limits - some neighbor a few years ago had one and that !@% thing would crow all damned day long - yes it does get old. Watched to get in sight. Just an advice. Your use of the term USA standard and filipino standard seems prejudiced. There are a lot of filipino houses wit a better standard than USA standard. Tanay area would be considered provincial area therefore 2 to 3 rd rate kinda real estate. Most houses there would be minimal cause the land is cheap. Come around my house in White Plains, and you will see above your so-called USA standard. And you boost about having house over or higher than everybody else. Because your area is 3rd rate subdivision where building a multi level medium size house is not advisable. If you ever want to sell it , nobody is gonna pay the cost you built it for. Cause people that would buy a house in that subdivision are common or at best just average filipinos. House like that is out of place. That's a forever house ,you would have a hard time selling at the cost you built it for. Finally, foriegner cannot own land in PI. So technically, your wife probably owns it, not you. Be a good American and be nice to your wife. You live in her house. Tame down the bravado Dude. But I get it. Most American see themselves as above the pinoys. Typical
