- Tatjana Schoenmaker won the women's 200m breaststroke with a stunning world record time of 2:18.95, breaking Denmark's Rikke Moller Pederson's 2:19:11 mark set in 2013. Team USA's Lilly King placed second and Annie Lazor picked up bronze.

Even as an Australian, this was my highlight from the pool in Tokyo. Just to see Lily King get beaten was great - but Schoenmaker had chased that WR in the heat and the semi-final, and she was absolutely spent at the end. She didn't even have the energy to turn around and look at the board. And then her reaction when she saw she had finally tracked down that world record. Beautiful result. I love Lazor's reaction to the WR as well.

Me too, I tried pausing the video at different spots. She has her fingers on the pad when lazor is still drifting in. I don't get it
Same!! But I feel like since chikunova touches the pad with the palm of her hands while lazor touches it with her fingertips so maybe lazor got her fingertips in there faster than chikunova? But nevertheless it was a very close touch. So fun to watch

Except Lilly King other 2 have natural emotions and congratulations to Schoenmaker . Proud of winner , Annie Lazor , Corbett. Shame on heavy headed Lilly dirty King .. tomorrow she will begins to start call Schoenmaker also a drug cheater as in case of Yefimova
Yefimova has been caught doping twice... To be more specific, she tested positive for some sort of steroids.
Taking steroids has permanent, life lasting, impact on the bodies of athletes, giving them a life long advantage when compared to natural athletes (just look at some retired, now natural bodybuilders to understand what I mean).
IMO testing positive for something like that should either result in a life-long ban from the sport, or the sport should just allow them. The current system is terrible and Lilly King speaking up about this is entirely justified.
@@mstk1803 Yeah getting caught twice but it's all accidental... Right keep believing that. In the "accidental case" you mentioned she tested positive for steroids. Claiming after the fact that it was accidental is bullshit and you know it.

Just to be clear I do not believe that any olympic sport is clean and I believe that a majority of the athletes use or have used PEDs in the past. I just think a ban for athletes that actually get caught is more than justified.
