Zhang Yufei won 6 medals in Paris. She is always smiling. But she was emotional after winning bronze in the 100 M butterfly. In one of the interviews, she laments why they continue cast a shadow of drug use over the Chinese swimmers ? She was tested 43 times a year. And also some were tested at 5 am ? After hundreds of tests over the last 4 years and all with negative results, is it necessary to continue to cast all these doubts like the Australian coach was saying ? Poor girl. It is really an unfair world if you evaluate this carefully.
She didn't win 6 medals. She lost the team's mix medley 4x100 gold medal, but her teammates did all the work to win the silver and spoon fed it to her mouth. It was actually gold but she lost it and turned it to a silver. She was do selfish! To help herself win as many medals as possible for personal glory, she entered too many races and then did poorly in all the medley. So her teammates swam well and then she lost all the advantages her teammates had gained, so essentially, they won the medals for her. She was just getting a free ride. And she had no shame but boasted about how many medals she had won!
@@StudentIF-ku2he Your statement is not true. In 2024 Paris 4x 100 women's medley, China was in 4th when Yufei took over. When she ended, China was in third. She is still regarded as China's top swimmer with gold medals in Tokyo 2020. IN 2024, she is slightly off her peak already so ended with bronze medals. It is still an achievement.

No, she actually swam In freestyle leg in the relay race, not butterfly. She excelled in both styles.
I like Zhang Yufei so much. 200 fly is the toughest race in all swimming competition. She won the 4x200 Freestyle gold and broke the World Record as the temporary assignment Right AFTER winning this toughest 200 Fly within 80 minutes!
Zhang Yufei is an iron lady with very good and pleasant personality.
As a swimmer for years myself, I know how tough it is at such a world topnotch level. Many years' tough training is paid off.
Toughest? Ever heard of the long distance freestyle and IM events? I'm pretty sure they are more painful than the 200 fly

@@beasmith3649 Personally I feel like the long distance free events don't really come close but the 400 IM definitely does. But I guess that's just really individual to every swimmer.

This happened after the Chinese authority demanded these social media to hand over the data of the terrorists following a string of extremely violent and fatal attacks in Xinjiang who used the US social media such as fb, twit, yt, etc to coordinate their attacks. At that time, you could watch these disgusting videos which talk about how to slaughter the Chinese on such platforms. Regan Smith was amazing. She came in behind Hali in the trials and swam her pb here.
Funny though Regan Smith is the world record holder of women's 200m backstroke but she didn't swim in the 200m backstroke and swan the 200m butterfly in the Olympic Games.
@@DonG191, Regan swam too many events during the Omaha trials and could neither maintain the form nor the timing when the 200m back came on, which was toward the end of the trials.

Zhang Yuwei didn't win gold medal in women's 100m butterfly. She was beaten by Margaret MacNeil of Canada in women's 100m butterfly final and got silver medal.

That’s not necessarily an error on the commentator’s part, they do it with every swimmer. E.g. “Dressel strikes gold”
