It is really an unfair world if you evaluate this carefully.

It was actually gold but she lost it and turned it to a silver. She was do selfish! To help herself win as many medals as possible for personal glory, she entered too many races and then did poorly in all the medley. So her teammates swam well and then she lost all the advantages her teammates had gained, so essentially, they won the medals for her. She was just getting a free ride. And she had no shame but boasted about how many medals she had won!

She is still regarded as China's top swimmer with gold medals in Tokyo 2020. IN 2024, she is slightly off her peak already so ended with bronze medals. It is still an achievement.

I like Zhang Yufei so much. 200 fly is the toughest race in all swimming competition. She won the 4x200 Freestyle gold and broke the World Record as the temporary assignment Right AFTER winning this toughest 200 Fly within 80 minutes! Zhang Yufei is an iron lady with very good and pleasant personality. As a swimmer for years myself, I know how tough it is at such a world topnotch level. Many years' tough training is paid off.

Funny though Regan Smith is the world record holder of women's 200m backstroke but she didn't swim in the 200m backstroke and swan the 200m butterfly in the Olympic Games.

Zhang Yuwei didn't win gold medal in women's 100m butterfly. She was beaten by Margaret MacNeil of Canada in women's 100m butterfly final and got silver medal.
