"Navigate to where you have your ROMs and system bios files" Thanks friend i just watched the whole tutorial and still have no idea what im doing wrong
Tried this with a PS2 ROM, everything loads up in the set up process, even the game thumbnail, but when I hit run, RetroArch just completely shuts down. Am I missing something? I know usually BIOS files are required to run PS2 ROMs
At 4:54 your system folder is in the music folder but you didnt tell us where we find our system folder, that isnt in our music folder. And is this a windows system folder?
I downloaded a SNES rom and put it in the same folder as in the video, downloaded the "bsnes" core (it is shown on the "load core" screen, therefore downloaded properly). Imported the content the same was as in the video ....but the SNES icon doesn't show up in the main menue, even after restarting the program. Update: even though the ROMs are in the downloads/SNES folder (twice, as zip and unzipped), Retroarch shows the folder as empty ("no items").
Can you play retro arch gaming emulator offline, multiplay, install mods to some games, and back up data where you can continue your existing data with your gaming process on other devices?
this is much better than the steam version and was a useful tutorial, I sorted everything out but still couldn't finish scan the file is this just something to do with the playstation rom
@@blainelocklair But will it run on the Xbox? And can I do something about that automatically checked "delete sideloaded apps when turning off" in dev mode?
I know that I'm super late to the party but as someone new to PC gaming, where do I go to safely get ROMs??? I'm know nothing about computers but want to get into retro gaming so bad.
I successfully scanned the 3ds fire emblem fates game but when I returned to the Home Screen nothing changed and I still can’t find a way to run the game, how do I fix this?
I was able to follow the directions you gave me (Thank you) however, when I load a rom, the program opens again, but then it closes. Why is that? (I am running a VM windows 11)
Yea just put everything on the SSD and then locate the exe files when you plug it into a new system. It won't have a windows registry in the the secondary system but the exe will run.
So the only way to get game files in is putting them in de downloads folder of RetroArch? I triend changing the content scanning folder to the regular internet downloads folder, but that does not work. Why the heck is there no drag-and-drop? I always have the idea that retroarch is a linux program never designed for a true GUI operating system like MacOS or Windows, as it lacks the fundamental principles of a decent GUI program like a menu bar, mouse-support for the interface, proper file association tables, double-click-to-open and such. Even worse, on a Mac all these Retro Arch folders are hidden by default.
How do emulator consoles work then? I want to get one and play all the Pokémon games, but obviously none of my friends have one so I’m wondering is it worth it?
Hello, if anyone can help me. I recently downloaded RetroArch on my PC, my version is 1.16.0. I'm trying to play a game called Fate/EXTRA. Whenever I download the rom, it comes in a WinRAR file with 2 files. A folder named PSP_Game and a BIN file named UMD_DATA.BIN. Whenever I get this, i copy paste the PSP_Game file and paste it in the RetroArch files download file. I already posted the system bios for PSP and I've downloaded the PSP Core, PPSSPP, however, I'm still unable to access and play the game. I did all your steps, but I did not find a listing for PSP. Please advise.
can you do this with wii games, and gamecube games? I can't really find a tutorial about these 2, and you explained the SNES better than any other video, if you please, can you do a video on Wii and Gamecube? please and thank you!
When I navigate to where my roms are, It shows nothing, but when I scan for rom it says 4 scanned, but nothing show up on the bottom left side like this this video. Am i doing something wrong?

the system bios pack is in the description and you can find roms easily by jus looking up "(system) roms"

Retroarch doesn't support ps2 ISO, I think. Why don't you try the PCSX2 Emulator?
Are the roms saved under the right folder?

you have to make your own system folder with BIOS in it for consoles
Where do i find the system bios files?
You just look up your system, buys files and then after it. Just do download and then search that and then find one and then badabang, badabum
