Just got my scout box and am waiting for this one. BRO TIP: The box comes with everything except the legs so that you can make two extra scouts. There's some easy conversion options you can do to get the extra bros. In my case- I used two sets of Bloodbowl Human Linemen legs.
I just magnetized mine so I have all the options but ive seen people use tank hatches as a hole theyre climbing out of and fancy basing like theyre hiding in a bush etc for the extra bodies.
In all honesty, I believe scouts are in a way better spot than ever I played them since release (my first KT btw) until June quite regularly, and I cannot express how many things that always bothered me got adressed Better mines, army wide knives which enables blade ambush without running 8 warriors with knives, TRACKER GIVES INDIRECT AND HAS MORE RANGE WITH NO VISIBILITY After reading the rules myself, I fell in love with this team again
Great and comprehensive review. Loving that you are jumping on Team reviews for the new edition. Still painting the blades of Khaine and looking forward to their video (nudge nudge, wink wink). Also, nice touch on changing your background and visuals to better distinguish the content being for 3rd edition.
I like the new Scout changes. Going back on power knives is great. Its great that now you can equip the whole team with a melee option and buff any existing ones for 1 equipment slot. Going down to 9 operagives is ok and the changes to forward scouting are nice, removing heavy bolter from double shoot is unfortunate. Overall it seems like a more comprehensive change compared to the last one and its going to make scouts nice to play with and into. I am also really happy to see that the basic operatives are getting some love with the free utility abilities, its nice to see :D Thanks for the video!
I think overall It’s balanced as a team - knives was a reasonable reset as it was ridiculous. Keep the number of operatives, make heavy bolters able to double shoot, as well as sorting sarge shooting on 2+ for his bolt rifle, then it’s just right imho. At the moment it’s weird how lacking in incentive it is to take specialists
I'm wondering if the intended playstyle with the heavy gunners is warrior pops smoke, then heavy gunner moves up into optimal firing lane on conceal to pay off the next turn. I'm not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze though.
New Scouts look interesting. Heavies can still be useful against some tougher enemies, could use a bit more love though. Shotguns change is strange one but I'll survive that, increased range on pistols is super cool. The new Warriors look very promising and if - looking at roster - are able t get chainsword + pistol, they might be very dangerous. My next Hunter, I'll fix with a cape/cloak and he will become my official Salamanders Batman About blades... Knew it, they messed up that previous +1/+1 buff on them :D So, now I'm waiting for your reviews of Marines and Phobos. Aaaand an amazing review as always. Keep up the great work 👍
Would Severe rule from embolden aspirant activate rending from the other ploy? If so, one could pay 2 cp that turn to make 1 dude guarantee 2 crits in melee. Seems pretty good.
Hate -1 op and hb losing double shoot, but otherwise changes looks good. Camo cloaks for everyone sounds great. And sergeant being a little rusty astartes actually is very thematic.
With the way the Scout Sergeant ability is worded, do you have to pick someone at the start of his activation? It seems like it’s worded that he could move, then do the APL booster, then the rest of his action
When talking about operative selection, you talk about bringing 3 specialists and 4 other warriors which comes out to 7 operatives can you take 1 more or is the 8th operative your leader?
Could someone tell me why the Chain Sword is the common pick for the leader? especially now It just seems like the shotgun is objectively better. I like the Chain sword but if he dies losing the APL buff is a huge loss. also Shooting the shotgun twice will kill so many operatives in one action.
I'm hoping the roster size is a print error otherwise why did GW even bother to buff them in 2nd ed if they were going to throw out the changes anyway.
@@CanYouRollaCrit It's going to be interesting to see if any of the team buffs that were implemented after the 3rd edition rules were probably locked down will be reinstated. It's not just scouts that have reverted.
@@CanYouRollaCrit I thought they changed just a few months ago in June? Curious to see how they play! I trust you opinion more then mine so I'm hoping they still feel good!
I like scouts but lets be honest, 4/6 knives were extremely silly. Reivers with combat blades only do 4/5 and those guys are real astartes. That doesnt make any sense.
Yeah if the scouts don't have the buffs we got in the previous dataslate, then we'll be one the worst kill teams again. We got some buffs in these changes but we also got nerfs other than the lost dataslate buffs.
the redeploy scouting action is worded so wierd (rounding up) indecate that you would have more than 9 operators because otherwise it would just be 3 operators. other than that i feel like they got nerfed hard from the current playstyle but i think that we just have to adabt to a new playstyle.
NIce. This was the last Kill Team I made for the last edition, and now it's getting the nerfhammer. This was the exact reason I stopped playing the last edition (with the atrocious LoS rules), all my teams got nerfed to oblivion. Now I got 19 Scouts sitting in my cupboard gathering dust. I just hope other teams also get the hammer hard. I'm salty.
@@CanYouRollaCrit seek prevent the defender to use terrain for cover while checking LOS. Super conceal prevents other rules to change the defender conceal order. So, seek doesn' t change thr super conceal to engage. The defender stop being in cover for that LOS check

Aha thanks, it's been a long plan of mine! I'll be doing guides for every faction (:
Warriors on the Scouts roster just became way more important. I think the free smoke and/or stun grenade every TP will be clutch.
Yeah they're even better now

Thanks dude! Yeah they're still powerful imo
I am wondering if heavy weapons are still worth picking tbh. 4 specialists 5 warriors looks promising. Great video as usual Cyrac !
Thanks! I usually just run more shotgun brrr
It’d be good to get 10 guys back but can probably live with the knife changes. Give me my double firing heavy bolter back though GW 😭
Yeah no double firing heavy bolter is weird
i think it is huge removing heavy bolter double shoot, he used to be my main for dealing with elites.
Yeah it's a very odd change
Pathfinder review waiting room!
Killed by servo sentry
Black Templar noob here. Can i use these guys in my normal army? or is this for just a specific game type. Praise be The Big E.
Yeah you can (:

Yeah, I think they should give back double shoot H bolter tho

It's any time during his activation

Oh it would be leader and another warrior. Usually I run 4 warriors
Is there any situation in which you would run the boltgun warriors instead of pistol/blade or shotgun?
Maybe vs GEQ horde teams?

5 attacks and fight twice will kill most things. Shotgun lost native balance so is worse imo
