    Hello, what Kind of strings you have on this Yamaha FG830? I have daddario xs phosphor bronze 12-53 but it doesnt sound good, G chord sound bad, I think this acoustic with daddario xs strings have too much bass, so maybe thats why my g chord sounds dark

      Hi and thanks for commenting! I have the stock strings on, I have heard that those are Yamaha's own 80/20 Phosphor Bronze Lights (012-.053), not 100% sure about this. These are ok, but not the best. G started to corrode really fast. I would want to test Stringjoy or John Pearse strings with this thing...

      FG series is very selective on string choice. The only string I could fit it was Elixir phosphor bronze 12-53. Other sounds very chip and harsh. If the guitar is new it sounds dull also - wait for 2-3 years and find it clean and sparky.

    String buzz on these makes them sound like 💩
