The Queen Mother stands at the front of her residence, Clarence House. Receives a telegram from her daughter, The Queen, while bands parade and play "Happy Birthday"

So impressed with the way she was able to do so much physically at that age. I have patients in their 80s who aren't able to do nearly as much.. It was a great thing to witness. You go girl! 🤣
Age 85 and beyond is very old, so no wonder those patients can't do as much. The Queen Mother didn't have to work outside or inside the home, so even when she died, there was little wear and tear on her body compared to those who were younger and worked, truly worked their entire lives.
@@travelseatsyellowlab I think it has more to do with health care. Prince Philip was a WW2 veteran and lived for 99 years. He fought in the front lines with lot of stress and responsibility in his shoulders because he was an Admiral of an entire fleet. It was lucky for Charles to have his grandma for more than a half-century. His grandpa died already 12 weeks after his 3rd birthday. It was George VI and his wife, then Queen Elizabeth, who took care of him and celebrated him on his 3rd birthday in November 1951, and it is the only memory Charles ever has had of his mother's dad.
What a wonderful lady, and a great way to remember that the Royal Family are a constant reminder of what is great in this country, and how the world loves the UK!

foxybingo2015 Oh yes, Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor. Yes, I believe. In '72 when the Duke was dying, the Queen, Phil etc, visited Wallis, but not the old lady. She didn't forgive Wallis.
foxybingo2015 About Wallis? I believe a lot of disinformation surrounded Wallis at the time, like rumours she'd run a brothel and knew sexual techniques. It was probably designed to discredit her.
