We're all mortal. The great leveller of Kings and paupers, Lords and commoners, Republicans, Anarchists, Socialists, everyone: death. We all knew she wouldn't live forever, no matter the singing we did for her as we sang the Anthem of the United Kingdom. No matter the words of her coronation, "May the Queen live forever"... we knew she would not. But she was a fixture of all our lives, whether we were supporters of the Crown or detractors. She was always there, always putting the best face of the People of Britain to the world. On every coin, bank-note, post-box, stamp. Her title engraved on all ships, and attached in some way to all serving Military personnel. The UK for just over 70 years had the same head of state: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Losing her, whilst I never met her nor knew her personally, was like losing a part of my childhood and youth and early middle-age. The world changed in an instant, yet remained the same. The same thing happened that has happened to all who came before us and will happen to us and to all who follow us. Yet, for that moment, things were... odd. Gone. A fixture of all our lives simply removed. In an instant, we were no longer subjects to a Queen, but to a King - whether we personally accept it or no, the truth remains. I miss seeing her or hearing about her, or listening to her Christmas messages. It's so strange to instead listen to the now King Charles. I still think of him as Prince of Wales. He was that for longer than I have lived, before I was born he was Prince of my little section of the UK. Now he is King, and the young lad William is now my Prince. So strange. So moving, even though I never thought such happening would move me as much. God rest you, your Majesty. Thank you for your service. Your job is done. Farewell.
What exactly did she do tho? What about queen elizabeth the first? What about Victoria, William the conqueror even Henry the eight before he got insane. Just because someone is popular of a media machine doesn’t qualify to any impact or greatness. She did her job and lived luxurious while Britains are financlly struggling while paying for it. Idk doesn’t really sound so great to me
So respectfully presented, so profoundly significant…so painful to watch as saying goodbye throughout this piece was so difficult…thank you for sharing *ERII*
Wow. I don't mind admitting, every time I watch something like that, my tears flow throughout. In no small way we have her influence and example to thank for the excellent King that we had now - but, what a loss! In that last scene she is surrounded by royal relatives who were born in the Reign of Queen Victoria (l. to r., Princess Marie Louise, [Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, the Queen's uncle, squeezing in front of] The Earl of Athlone and Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone,) and then you begin to appreciate the enormity of royal influence her lifetime spanned - no less than ten generations, with family links to half of Europe!

Her entry into Buckingham Palace was one of the most touching moments of the those mournful days. The police escorts bowing their heads and the crowds lighting her way with their “torches” are images I’ll never forget.
I wished me and Woody.EXE were there for the Queen but we both witnessed it live from our own palace instead which felt unreal knowing we were already king and Queen of Wales for 48 hours. We both still remain so loved by our fans almost 2 years on

There are many Queens in other royal families. But HMTQE II was the Queen of all Queens... the Queen of the World, being the role model of what a good, pleasing to God human being, and lady ought to be. Like many people from the UK, HMTQE II has been the only Queen the world has known almost all our lives.

As a Dutch citizen, I knew more about Queen Elizabeth II than I did about the Dutch monarchy. HRH Elizabeth was an iconic person, who was loved the world over. I lived in NZ as a child and I remember seeing her majesty at a distance. I was upset with her passing and watched the funeral. I admired her majesty for her humour, love of animals, dedication to her duties, and most of all her loving smile.
I so enjoyed hearing King Charles speech again and getting to see video of Queen Elizabeth. I am American but , I really liked Queen Elizabeth as she was such a graceful and wise Lady. She always put her best foot forward in all she done and was such a pleasure to see. I miss her terribly and can only guess how much she is missed in the U.K. . Sending my love to the Royal family and its peoples.❤🇺🇸🙏❤❤❤❤
As just a rude American, I have to say, this touched me more deeply than I can truly understand. Yes, for me, too, Elizabeth II was the only royal I had ever known, an eternal constant. The woman was a font of wisdom, grace, and humor, a shining example of faith, honor, and duty. I'm not ashamed to say I was in tears for most of this tribute, and I can't even tell you for sure why. Except for this: the world is a diminished place without this grand lady in it. God save King Charles III, may he rule with half the grace and wisdom of his mother, he'll be remembered as a good king and an honorable man. This was a beautiful tribute to the longest reigning British monarch, may she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Prince Phillip.
even though I believe King Charles III is a great successor to Her late Majesty, and HM would be proud of him, the death of Queen Elizabeth is still very raw - I too am regularly in tears when I watch these videos

I remember Woody.EXE giving me (the future Queen of his) the news around 12:40 on Thursday 8th September 2022. Little did we both know that we would become king and Queen of Wales just 5 hours later. 2 years on and we still remember it

The original plan was to fly Her Majesty's coffin from Edinburgh to London but the plans were changed so that the country could better pay their respects as Princess Anne, the Princess Royal and her husband Sir Timothy Lawrence accompanied Her late Majesty by road. There were mounted riders and farm machinery lined up beside parts of the route back to our capital, as marks of respect, and silent crowds also lined the route through towns and cities as the cortege passed. Great timing with St George’s Day coming up. The British can feel proud of themselves and their heritage. Especially their monarchy. QEII was a spectacular human who touched millions upon millions of faithful countrymen. Vale
From Australia, Now at 61 years old, I grew up with the Queen always being in the background. At kindy we would recite the daily Oath of Allegiance and walk past the big portrait of Her Majesty, it was just part of our lives, a caring aunty that we might never meet or actually ever see in person but she was still always there. For my generation, with her passing, so passes a small part of ourselves.
As an American, I do feel like she was also “one of us” as so many Americans are of British descent. I was actually in England the day she died and was able to watch the many shows on TV about her and see how devastated the citizens were. RIP good and faithful servant.
The British Stoicism is best represented by the fact that losing one of the most incredible human beings ever born, we accept their wishes, and what they stood for, and proudly swap from "God save the Queen!" to "God save the King!" - Just as she would have wished for us. Not to mourn her loss, but to appreciate what she stood for, and what she did for us as a people. Not just British; but for the entire world as a whole.
May God bless Queen Elizabeth II and may she rest in peace. The ceremony and march of soldiers in their finery was beautifully executed and planned a long time ago by the Duke and some others who are no longer here. May they also rest in peace. It was sublime to watch in real time, years ago planned, so glad she had such a long innings, I thought she would go on longer, sadly. I guess that is the meaning of Amor awakening Psyche, we all realise our mortality and awaken to the truth that earth is just a temporary place, that we do not belong to , we are not just a bag of bones and flesh, we are also spirit, the flesh dies, Amor whispered to Psyche the Spirit lives, so long LIVE the HM QEII

So moving, even though I never thought such happening would move me as much.
God rest you, your Majesty. Thank you for your service. Your job is done. Farewell.

She will always be remembered as one of the best monarchs of the kingdom
What exactly did she do tho? What about queen elizabeth the first? What about Victoria, William the conqueror even Henry the eight before he got insane. Just because someone is popular of a media machine doesn’t qualify to any impact or greatness. She did her job and lived luxurious while Britains are financlly struggling while paying for it.
In that last scene she is surrounded by royal relatives who were born in the Reign of Queen Victoria (l. to r., Princess Marie Louise, [Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, the Queen's uncle, squeezing in front of] The Earl of Athlone and Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone,) and then you begin to appreciate the enormity of royal influence her lifetime spanned - no less than ten generations, with family links to half of Europe!
when her voice spoke at the end as they were entering the chapel, I could not stop the tears flowing either

There are many Queens in other royal families. But HMTQE II was the Queen of all Queens... the Queen of the World, being the role model of what a good, pleasing to God human being, and lady ought to be. Like many people from the UK, HMTQE II has been the only Queen the world has known almost all our lives.

years ago I read that it was said that wherever in the world one might be, if one mentioned "The Queen" people knew who was meant
