Streetcars carried passengers through the streets of Santa Cruz until 1926, when they were decommissioned and replaced by buses. So what happened to the streetcars? Mary and Gerhard Ringel know exactly where two are. They currently live inside them. www.houzztv.com

I have watched about ten of these tiny home videos and this is my first comment.............. .I LOVE IT! What really motivates me to pause and type here is you two lovely loving loves.Most couples need another room after 30 years of marriage, it is so heart filling to see how you look at one another. Mary mentions Gerhart and there is genuine feelings in her voice. I live in a 4 bedroom home in Kona and converted my garage into a studio which I rent out. After about a year I hear the tenants starting to get on each others nerves and they move soon after.I have been trying to rent only to singles, but they insist. I wish I could get my next tenants to take a workshop with you two, I'm sure there are edges at times, but the main thing is you stick it out. Keep smiling you two.

Here in Dallas, I rode an old trolley that had started out as a trolley in Dallas, then was sold to a bachelor rancher here in Texas, who lived in it for 30 years, then was abandoned for a few years after he died, then some people got together who remembered the old trolley system and how much they had loved it. They set out on a search for the old original cars, and found this one, among others. They bought it and restored it to its original condition, and you can ride it today if you come to Dallas. It's name was and is "Petunia".

I keep going back to this and I still love this quirky beach house.

My husband and I just took a trip to California for our 15th anniversary in 2014 and drove down the coast. The one place we both really loved the most was Santa Cruz! It's such a wonderful area and the people were so kind. Wish I'd known about this place! I would have loved to have seen it first hand!

It's absolutely perfect ! There isn't anything I don't like ! I was blown away when I saw the inside.....The box lights are amazing, the tile floor in the kitchen is awesome and the furniture pieces are beautiful ! You can feel the love the moment you step in the door. If I were your child, I'd hope you'd leave it to me....lol This lovely home is too wonderful not to be handed down. We lived in San Jose and so wanted to live in Santa Cruz. They pay teachers a poverty wage so it was not a possibility. Love visiting Santa Cruz. We would live in a street car, it is so charming and near the beach to boot?

The roof....being curved is a blessing in that its unlikely to have leaks....I would live there in a HEARTBEAT,,,as a creative person myself I would find it...inspiring! Nice job !!!!
