This is such an amazing DIY. The actual project itself is so simple but the final result is incredibly versatile, impactful and festive!
You can make this in any fabric you want, depending on season or occasion but I do suggest a stretch material.
If you are a beginner sewer I would recommend looking for a fabric that cuts clean so all it requires is the one seam in the back. And then you can leave all the edges un-hemmed.

Great diy. Elegant! Thought - If the fabric is flowy and lightweight, you can double the fabric and sew together then turn inside out for a nice edge. This could be faster than hemming the edges. The key would be lightweight & flowy fabric.
And if you do the pointy tips first, it would be even easier. 😊

Shani, I love your ideas. I'd love to find someone like you who's more my body shape b/c many of the amazing creations you look so great in, won't work on a plus size girly.
I think this would look so wonderful on any body! Just make the width wide enough to cover the bust, and long enough to wrap around.. I think it would looks so great!

Here's what I do for turning the edge under. I sew a straight(basting) stitch 1/4" or 1/2" along the edge. Then, I fold on that line, then fold again while sewing.
Uses more thread but, to me, time is more precious. I have loads of thread (use cheap thread for that basting stitch). 😊 This works great for hemming skirts and dresses too. 😘

Just make sure to get a fabric that cuts clean so it doesn't require as much sewing. If you want ZERO sewing you want a 4 way stretch so that you can cut the long way.

If you Want to hide the seam make it a felled seam… overlap so you Can fold one side in and then over the other side, and sew it so you have a double seam like on jeans ;)

I need help, how can we change the color of a crome zipper to a darker shade so it doesn't look too loud , I have purchased a new black leather look jacket and it's zippers are silver bright color and for me it's too much.... please help I love the jacket but not zipper color can we paint or do something with doing Stiching
I use nail polish! (Just top the colour with a clear coat to reduce chipping)
