I keep thinking there was something wrong with this picture. When I think of Holloween I think of apples not berries. Ha But I still love orange colors and the idea of making the project your own is spot on with me. I think everyone needs to step out of the norm at times and do their own thing with quilts. I love this pumpkin quilt!!! Half square triangles intimidate me!! But I may psych myself up and eventually try it!!! 😀😀‼️🎃🎃🎃‼️‼️
Start with small projects on the HST’s. The key is making sure you square them up. A good ruler is the quilt in a day HST ruler or a Loc Bloc. You’ll smile when you figure out how easy they are😃. Thanks for watching❣️😊🐥

Thanks for putting all the work in. It was great (inspiring) to see the beginning to end process. My hardest motivation is to keep going. I don't have a long arm and I quilt on my domestic. Sometimes it feels like a "death march" to get through the process. I try to "treat" myself by once I get the quilt spray basted, I take a break and starch the fabric of the next quilt. Then I FMQ 1 hr per day as my back and shoulder cannot do more. And I cut out a few blocks of the next quilt, maybe make a test block. Then, I confess I often let it sit a few days before binding as I am burnt out and begin full on piecing the next quilt. But I have a "rule" to keep me honest...I must stop and bind this quilt before I get the new quilt 50% pieced. I am not talented (organized) enough to have more than 2 quilts on the go at once. I already drive the family nuts with treads and stuff all over as no sewing room :(. In short, it is good to see what it takes even for someone as experienced as you and with a longarm (which feels like magic to me) to go through the whole process. You and we are amazing!

I think Broken dishes is when the QST block aka Hour Glass is multiplied to create a bigger block. And I think some call the 3 fabric version an Evelope block because it looks like an envelope.

I am sad that I didn't know the we live so close. We are just a hop skip and a jump away. Middleton of me. Next time I will pay closer attention. Just curious, why not chain piece adjacent rows together? Then there is not so many stop snd starts.

I’m just watching this video in mid January. It is 8*F outside with a feels like 4*F in KY right now. This is is the most adorable quilt. I am actually trying to finish a fall themed quilt for my daughter as I watch this. I gave her the flimsy for Christmas because I didn’t get it finished. Working on the last FPP block for the after quilt to go on the back then I can sew the rest of the backing together. Will make my sandwich and try to stitch in the ditch on my domestic machine. More confusing that quarter square triangle/hourglass - half square triangle or triangle square. I wonder if the hourglass quilters make triangle squares while to quarter square triangle makers make half square triangles?
