Lk chests are still a thing, but I would say only if you’re doing p5 or more. Like db I was doing players 1 for trav. It is the most efficient way to acquire runes for p1
Just started trav runs with max item/potion find horker. Use dual heart carvers on switch so I get 76% with plus to skills. No HR at 50 runs yet but tons of loot including a 5/5 lightning facet so far

You can give your Merc Flickering Flame, then you can avoid that stuff and put him in normal gear, like Stone or Duress or Treachery. The Helm slot is where I traditionally put his life Leech unless I go nuts and give him Chains, which is totally viable by the way.
i did travs from lvl 88 to 92.. with my frenzy dmg barb plus weaponswitch 55-59% find item. got a few nice runes. best runes was jah ber sur and a ton of other good stuff

It's a good place better than Lower Kurast mainly because it is not completely boring like lower kurast and boredom matters when you are doing 1000 plus of anything. I recommend p3 (if on single player).
Item find Barb is a useful tool in the kit but I've honestly had more luck popping LK. My Hammerdin smokes Trav in like 10 seconds Players 8. But WK/Baal is has been ELITE gear for me this weekend.
Can't find Jah rune in LK though, only Ber right? From the superchests at least. But +1 for LK anyway, since its the only place in the game I've found a Ber

QUESTION: With Flickering flame + Fire sunder Could you just use an act1 mercenary for the run speed (harmony bow) and a fire hydra sorc? Just throw down 2 outside stairs, 1 on stairs , 2 inside building and everything melts, or would a flikering flame not be nought to keep a fortitude/coh merc alive?
I love that you guys have this thing you enjoy, and I like checking in on ya, but I can’t fathom why anyone would want to do 1000’s of repetitive runs like this. Is there a goal? A difficulty setting to beat?
dbrunski what do you think about this: zeal + conviction paladin with voice of reason or rift with paladin skills, and barb merc with 2 voice of reason: very high chances to cast frozen orb and ice blast, and with conviction reduces defense and all resist so the enemy takes a lot of damage +skills and increased attack speed in the gear needed to work
I have been doing trav + chaos with my foh din on ladder, I found 3 Jah runes so far, 1 from trav 2 from chaos, but no Ber yet, was able to trade a Jah + some other runes for a Ber to complete my enigma, so yeah I really love this farming route.
Dud, since d2r was here, ive got many hrs. All hrs less jah and ber. Some zods, chams, sur, lo, etc... But not single jah or ber. Blizzard hates me now and 20 years ago
Hi Dbrunski! I just watched the section about merc gear & had a thought. I'm playing a barb & don't have an Infinity, so the only option of your 3 would be the ral kira's/GA. What about a Flickering Flame helm instead of the Kira's? It gives +85-106% fire res with a level 4-8 aura & even adds some max fire res. Less budget friendly, but it might be even more powerful for Trav in particular.
Flickering Flame on merc with dwarf star on you works great for hardcore runs mitigates conviction boss danger. He did make this before Flickering Flame was introduced though (or he would have mentioned it).
Hey Dbrunski i have a question for you, did you know that if you have a torch on your assassin that your shadow warrior will use the hydra skill and even though its a charge skill it wont use any charges.. at least thats what i think is happening. Cuz hydra keep popping up around me and i don't have that skill other than on my torch. Did anyone else know this??
I got ridiculously lucky this ladder. I’d say I’ve done maybe 1000 trav runs total, maybe more maybe less I didn’t keep track. But I’ve found a Jah, 2x Lo, Sur, 2x ohm from there this ladder. All P1 on my FoHdin
I feel like trav farming is only really worth it if you are a find item barb or run with one. Not enough monster density. I think I'll stick to farming chaos runs with my fister. Much more monster density, better quality of items and atleast I get some xp over time and I'm not spending more time in load screens then playing(Sometimes I have really bad load times for an extended period) . Lvling in Chaos Sanc really slowed to a crawl ever since I hit 94 xD
mrllamasc posted a video about how to reduce load times (unpack the data folder) You need alot more space on your hard drive but maybe its worth it for you

Best place in game to farm runes p1 or p8 its durance level 1-3 (full map /chests) and level 90+ since hero Level count when runes drop more that how many players are in game :) I found 2xVex 1xOhm 4xIst 6xMals 6xUms 5xPuls in durance lvl1-3 at lvl89 and I did like 13 or maybe 15 runs there :)
I found 2 bers within first 40 runs, up untill 100 i found Lo an 4 facets and other stuff. The next 100 or so I have not found much, but i found 2 Andys helms 1 of them ethereal. All in all i feel like its been very worth it. And its pretty much all i farm right now. All with horker barb
Did 5000 trav runs so far on my HORK barb and I still haven't found a single HR. This is my main farm this ladder and I've averaged like 1 ist per 100 runs (including the pgems and gold) It's been awful.
Trav is really good this is why i love gold find barbs u farm a ton of gold and then pop all the corpses for double chances at drops so many high runes

cold sorc can farm him quick, safe and easy...his minions are immune to cold and you can just blizz nihlathak while teleporting around without ever making corpses for him to explode
Nature's Peace is the easy way. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, there is a way to find the level 3 entrance from the waypoint every time & a way to find which of the 4 paths he is in every time. Llama has a video called "Maphack in your mind" that explains it really well (Dbrunski probably has one too, but I haven't seen it).
To this day out of all the times I've done this trying to get high runes, I got maybe 3-4 to drop (not counting any lower that I could upgrade into high runes). Then I decide to make a bowazon to have faith and mist merc to see what it plays like. As leveling it up and going through river of flame and chaos, I end up getting a zod from Hephasto and then in chaos ended up getting a Ber, and cham as drops. Which I liked as I really needed that Cham rune to make mist, I don't think ever been as lucky to get that kind of luck in rune drops. Granted one of them was a zod and well its not really worth that much like other runes are. Think closest was a time where got a jah and ber in act 5 when was heading through towards shenk to get socket quest. I usually got bad luck but yesterday I seemed to have some crazy luck.
300 Trav runs and I got an Ohm rune. Is that good for the amount of runs I've done? On players one with a Blizz Sorc. I almost feel like not playing anymore since that has been the highest rune I've acquired I've been playing this game for a little over 3 months.

you got more decent loot around 300 runs in than i got in 1800 season 1 of ladder. only skillers i got was offense aura skiller and a passive and magic skiller. 1 ist 1 pul and a buncha shitty nagels and raven frosts
My 2 Grief + Fortitude Barbarian melts them like butter and then I can use find item with 450 mf. So far 700 Travincal and only 1 ohm and 1 shako... but at least it's fun.
1000 runs for Lo + Ist? I found more runes elsewhere (Jah, Ohm, Lo, Ist). And you get less experience, because it is not a level 85 area. Dia and Baal runs are more efficient: you get more experience, you get level 85 items, you get also runes and it is a little bit less boring.
Kill time on Trav is very, very fast though. 1000 trav runs = same time farming probably 100 chaos runs. If he ran a horker barb, he's almost doubling his chances to find HR's as well as solid items. It can also be very, very hit and miss sometimes. I got 2x Ohm, Lo, 2x Ist and an Um in 100 runs, but have now gone about 750 runs or so without any HR and just 1x Ist and 1x Mal. Chaos P1 has been much much worse for me. Not even a mid rune yet in the 2 months i've had D2R.
@@gaspardancelin9770 Well my run of no high runes is still going at 900 or so now, still just that mal and ist from 900 runs it can be painful sometimes, but worth it when u get those luckbox hours where things just drop. Although i've gotten a few skillers and nice charms, plus a couple of facets, and i collect the gems which you can always trade or use for crafting.

i literally have run 1000s of trav runs on d2r with a hdin w/ 500 mf + 700 gf.. and normal merc with insight, fort and andys w/ ral i have never lost a merc..... dbrunski is so difficult with his mercs and set ups lol d2s not that complicated..
Thank you. I am tired of people saying you need X or Y high weapon and I also am tired of streamers playing with gear it takes thousands and thousands of hours to get. I play legit and find basically all my own stuff. I refuse to buy crap off d2jsp or whatever. Usually what I can get away with farming hell with takes far far less gear than all these streamers hype it up to be.
The build... I have found Foh so weak vs hammer in this run. Most are light resist/immune. Hammer just owns this completely. The kill times don't lie. Amp it up p6 or so with hammers budget, gl with foh, lawl. FoH only claim to fame is p1 chaos..

You are better with having +1 warcry gc in your inventory and do the horking with gull dagger / ali baba for the extra MF.
I plan to do the same, but I'm wondering whether the +8 to find item is worth the loss in magic find - I have an Ali baba and Gul on the swap

I have been running Flicker Flame on my mercs and it does wonders!! Frees up you running Resist Fire as your aura.

theyre an exact copy of you item wise just not in dmg or hp so it makes sense, ive just never seen it myself
I've done upwards of three thousand Travs with 71% IF and have found two Jah, a Cham and a Sur.

I use an eth steel shade armet, eth coh, and eth botd war pike to tank hydras for my hork barbs.

Although i've gotten a few skillers and nice charms, plus a couple of facets, and i collect the gems which you can always trade or use for crafting.

@@gaspardancelin9770 I'm the same bro trying to get my engima, runes have dried up for me. Been going hard for a week and got nothing, probably done 40+ hours of farming and just two measly mid runes to show for it. Big sad.
I've got runes to craft up to Ber at this point.
i literally have run 1000s of trav runs on d2r with a hdin w/ 500 mf + 700 gf.. and normal merc with insight, fort and andys w/ ral i have never lost a merc..... dbrunski is so difficult with his mercs and set ups lol d2s not that complicated..
Thank you. I am tired of people saying you need X or Y high weapon and I also am tired of streamers playing with gear it takes thousands and thousands of hours to get. I play legit and find basically all my own stuff. I refuse to buy crap off d2jsp or whatever. Usually what I can get away with farming hell with takes far far less gear than all these streamers hype it up to be.
After a couple hundred runs the highest rune I found was an Um
Got 3 pairs of goblin toe, a mid HoZ, a frost raven, nothing too exciting in terms of uniques. Gems and gold come consistently.

The build... I have found Foh so weak vs hammer in this run. Most are light resist/immune. Hammer just owns this completely. The kill times don't lie. Amp it up p6 or so with hammers budget, gl with foh, lawl. FoH only claim to fame is p1 chaos..
