Hi gartln.werkln. thanks for the comment. Yes I've done it this way for quite a While. I get a good sharp edge on the blades. All the best Calvin
Nice little die grinder that. what make is it Calvin have you got a link? The one in your link is not the same as the one your using. I like the trigger on the one you are using
Hi Scott. Thanks for the comments. Yes I couldn't find the exact model on amazon. Here's the make and model. Sealey, SA720. Its quite expensive. The kit is just under £200 rrp. You might find it cheaper on the net. Cheers Calvin
Cheers Calvin. Found it for £114.00 all the trimmer heads will get done this year :)
Hi Scott. Good Price That, lol. Cheers Calvin
Now there's tidy for you 🏴
What Is the grit of 2 inch roloc disc you used to sharpen the trimmer?
Hi Calvin. I’ve just bought these hedge trimmers and I was wondering how often you have to grease the gearbox and tend to the blades with lubricants?
Hi Ben. I grease the gearbox at the start of each season. Maybe once more mid season if I'm doing a lot of work with them. I lubricate at the start of each job and I spray about every 30 minutes sometimes less. I try to keep the blades wet ( lubricated ) because they wear when they're dry . All the best Calvin
Ok thanks for that Calvin! What product do you use for the blades?
You'll like this. Red diesel lol. I've used it for years. Cheers Calvin
Hahah well there you go😂 if it works then it works!😂
Great tip thank you!
What compressor do you have?
Great video. Do the sparks not potentially damage the plastic casing of the engine and the fuel tank though?
No wurries! - if it don't bother you tongue it's not gonna bother the plastic is it.
Always been the same with tong hanging out. 😂
In which part of Wales are you? Great vid by the way. Liked
Hi Gareth. Thanks for the comments. I live near ( Caerphilly ) south wales. Cheers Calvin
Dremel diameter too small; 4" grinder flaps too big. Your 2" type looks Goldilocks size. Thanks to you I'm checking out angled die grinders - - but not for £100!! Looking into SPTA pack for under £40 (with 1" , 2" and 3" pads, no longer available in UK , but still in France) but waiting for feedback on whether a 2HP 50L (Macafer) will actually do the job. In theory it has more than enough debit of air but want confirmation from an actual user (on Amazon France); two days in and no replies.
Thanks again for this lead.
Calvin: Could I manually use a high-grit/rough sandpaper instead of a file or a disk machine? I am trying not to purchase all of the elaborate things I would need to do this, that, in total would cost me more than a new hedge trimmer.
Hi eddyvideostar. I would recommend a file before sand paper but if that's all you've got to use then yes sand paper would help better than not doing anything to them at all. Personally I would strip the blades and sharpen them with a file if I didn't have a grinder of any kind. Hope this bit of info helps. Cheers Calvin
To Calvin: I appreciate your response. I believe that you are right and will get the appropriate file. Question: What do you mean by, "strip the blades?"
Hi. eddyvideostar. When I say strip I mean I sometimes tack the blades off the machine to sharpen them but you can just line up the blades like I am in the video. Cheers Calvin
could i use a dremel?
Hi Ryan. Yes I'd say a dremel would do a very similar job. Cheers Calvin
I'll do mine now in a minute, tidy mun.
Cheers mate
Thanks Lucas. Cheers Calvin
Very carefully with a fine file - unless you want to ruin it!
Waar kun je die slijpmachine kopen in welke winkel

Dremel all the way man
You did not mind metal dust flies in your tongue? Lol
Hi moto shadow. Yes I like the taste of stuff like that lol. cheers calvin

Wow..this is really hard to watch.
I only now noticed my tongue out lol (sorry)
Concentration 😃
We all do it.
Great vid. Thank you.

Ok. But I disagree. Use a file but It'l take longer. What about all the guys who use grinders on them. Cheers anyway Calvin
