I had a '68 Corvette (non matching) with a 350 built by RHS. It had ported heads and a 292 cam giving 1/2 inch lift. I was told when I bought it that the engine made between 375 HP and 400 HP. It was the same color but was a T-top coupe. Taking the tops and the pop-out rear window off/out made it like driving a convertible. I really miss that car! Sold it "for a song" during hard financial times. ☹

I love your Corvette. Its a very special first year edition, of this new model and also because i was born in 1968, as well. I surely hope that you rebuild that original 327 engine, with all its matching numbers and its original title. Don't swap the motor, with an L.S. engine, unless you think it's absolutely necessary. I sincerely hope that it will turn over. I just love the body, the beauty and the style of it. Better and faster than a Mustang. Thank! you for this wonderful presentation, on the RUclips channel and good luck, with your Corvette project. You seem absolutely thrilled, about it...and so do I. Johnny, Montreal, Canada ❤️

That carb gasket and heat shield is correct for that Q Jet application. Horseshoe intake. Most people add another gasket between the heat shield and carb. Nice find and that 327 - 350 HP motor I believe is a small journal crank. If so, very nice.
