I don't think there's anything actually wrong with the Charger Daytona, except the excessive weight, and the price of both versions is about $15k too high. IMO if Dodge was going to market it as an "electric muscle car", it should have been competitive, performance -wise, with at least a Tesla Model 3 Performance, and preferably the Model S Plaid. Muscle cars shouldn't be slower than economy cars.
Dodge should have released the Banshee model first, to set the tone for what an "electric muscle car" really can be. Instead, they released watered-down versions that simply aren't that quick in the modern EV world.

That reminded me to look again at the largest Ford dealership in this part of Alberta, granted its not in a huge city but it also services rural communities hundreds of miles away. Like in various places of north america when the F 150 lightning first came to market there was the hype and pre orders and there were those that just had to have one as it was the first electric pickup on the market. Well fast forward to more recent times and that dealer has ONE 2023 model lightning on the lot and I don't actually know how long its been there but certainly it was there last summer and I see there are a couple thousand demo miles on it and more recently they lowered the price even more. That same dealership has zero of any form of another EV on the lot and doesn't Ford also have some cars and a sports car that are EV's as well ?. That dealership sells a pile of super duty diesel pickups as well as gas to the fleet market as per oilfield etc companies and farmers etc ... lots of gas F 150's and so on. This snap shot of one dealer may not be entirely fair but wow, one lightning and they can't get the thing off of their hands.
To put it another way, there is a LOT of rural remote Canada up here in northern Alberta and a theme of a lot of those HD pickups is a bolted in bed level style jockey tank with an electric fuel pump to refuel themselves off the beaten path, apparently it was figured out that there are no electrical outlets that grow on the side of trees in the middle of the boonies !

Big time miscalculation by the euros!! However they can used some of those EV funds and redirect them to Jeeps,Rams and gas Dodges. Give us a real diesel in Jeeps!!

They need to push some of those funds over to lower the cost of the jeeps. Not spend more development costs. Could have left things alone and spent less and been cheaper.

@ but they can do it by not spending crazy money. They just spend so much money to develop the online 6 bullshit. When all they had to do was release a fixed cam and lifter set for the hemi.
But they still till this day won’t even produce head gaskets for the hemi. A 2024 hellcat you cannot by a head gasket for.

@ I’m very familiar that it was designed as a plan for the United States to cut back on its emissions but incentivizing the production and use of cleaner energy. Again, it wasn’t a law, it was a plan. I don’t know why Trump wants to keep the fissile fuel industry happy, but getting rid of the green new deal does not get rid of the incentives for EVs, and with the house’s aproval, in it of itself still cannot unallocate funding for upgrading our electric infrastructure. It’s not a law, so Trump “killing it” does not do anything. I recommend you take your own advice and educate yourself on the matter.

Evs are definitely not going anywhere lol. Nationwide they sold more in 2024 than they ever have, the data suggest thats going to keep happening, worldwide there are already countries that have more evs than ice. The electric isn’t the future, it’s the present, America is just behind.
