I think they sold this same car a few years ago for 1.2 million and will probably sell it again in 3 years for maybe 4 million? They are making money for sure.
I remember my dad taking both front A-pillar chrome and the rear wing off of one of these in a junkyard back in the early "80s.....I was just a 12 year old kid....He paid, believe it or not $75.00 for all of it.🤭🤭....He was gonna put them on his "70 Charger work car but my mother would have nothing of it.😭😭....So he put them up in his garage loft where they still are to this day.🤔🤔
Dodge will forever be known as king of muscle cars Chevy and ford wouldn’t be where they are today without dodge the dodge charger Daytona was the first car in history to reach 205MPH Bugatti wasn’t even on the same level as dodge back then
Yeah the auction fees are crazy. I’m sure a good accountant can deduct that cost under “business expense”. Add the tax issues with this as claiming the sale as income. But I’m sure they claim a lot of business expenses, things like shipping to location, or fuel cost and employees cost, and vehicle and trailer costs for shipping. Got have a good accountant.
Its a damned shame the green new deal liberals are killing off the muscle car segment of the auto industry. Seems like only Ford is even trying at this point with the Mustangs. Thank you God we will still have Mecum to remind us of greater days.
Liberals? Facts, please! Management has killed all their muscle cars because of profit, not government. The 600hp Corvette and GT 'Stangs are still around, dude, as well as all the 500+ hp foreign builds.

Nuts, the buyer will never get that money back as there are very few peeps willing to pay this ridiculous amount in the first place. I only hope that the buyer is a philanthropist who gives back 10-20 times the price of this car to the community annually in form of medical aid to the poor for example. But then again he is probably a complete douche living in his billionaire bubble.
You could have one built for $100,000 maybe 15 years ago. A rotted to death '69 Charger carcass is in the $20,000-$30,000 range right now, and increasing daily. Figure once you acquire that mess, it'll take, on average, one full year to build a Daytona clone from that. That's 2,000 hours @ $100 an hour, minimum. Now we're at $200,000 + the $25,000 initial price on the VIN, which is all that'd be salvageable on the carcass. Figure another $100,000 for the new sheet metal, drivetrain, interior, wiring harness, and all the shiny bits. Now we're at $325,000, at the very least. You'll have a very nice car, but it won't be a numbers matching hemi four speed Daytona. Things have gotten quite expensive in this hobby !
Sad. It will never get driven. Problen is with millions of horrible drivers on the roads today. Why risk such à historically great car to getting T boned by a punk in a 30 year old Honda pile of crap.

They always say that a car is only worth what some moron is willing to pay. 3.3 million dollars, you know how many homeless people could get off the streets with that. Unbelievable, I love classic cars but until they make a car that can fly, float and make my dinner I’m not spending that much on a car.
