I feel like you should keep this and sell the GQ if you where going to sell one. I find watching the big tb48 out touring and tuff stuff much better to watch
Ha, fuel use is a lot, but not that much more compared to a fully loaded diesel engined car, eg new Prado hits 29l/100klms quite easily. TB48s also save you lot on repairs compared to, dare I say it, a TD42. We have both versions here, so I know which one I prefer - hint, not the TD rattle can.
I just towed 1200kg trailer from Brisbane to Barrington Tops and back. Bullbar and 32's. Total average consumption was 14.6L/100kms. To get to 29 I'd have to tow 3T up a range the while time?
@intimatespearfisher Which engine? Reviews of the new Prado are often commenting on heavy fuel use esp when towing. But you're figures are good. A mates 200s V8 diesel uses more than our V6 3L suoercharged petrol, which has a lot more power. For shopping etc the 2 8 turbo diesels are good.
Hi mate, Considering you’ve had both on the same car, is there a big difference in travel between the 2.0 and 2.5 shocks? I believe it’s a couple inches? But do you actually notice it?
Bushwraps will cover up those scratches. you wont even see them. Are your wheels FULL Beadlock or like the Method beadlock wheels ?? I thought full Beadlock were illegal ?
Beadlocks are illegal in every state in Australia. I don't know why guys still run them. If they have an accident, the insurance company has an easy out as the car isn't roadworthy
Is your diff the 220 mm crown wheel front? Would barely be bigger than the 100 series ifs 😂 8.5” vs 8.66” inch? 100 series 30 spline vs patrol 31 spine front.. just saying
all GU's have a HG233 31 spline front with either a HG233B 33 spline rear(coil wagon) or a HH260 34 spline rear (leaf ute) or HH260 37 spline rear (coil ute)
When doing comprehensive builds like these you better be sure it's a keeper as you'll never get back close to all the money and effort spent on it when it comes time to selling it. It's just a shame a museum piece GU was sacrificed to build this. Good luck in finding a new good home for it.
It’s a good build nothing was sacrificed, I agree with people not keeping their build that worth 100k + If I spend that much on a 4x4 I know I’ll keep it for at least 20 years
I'm not a GU Patrol owner, but can't the throttle be addressed using Ultimate 9 (or the like)? Isn't there a setting that makes the car less responsive (and more responsive)?
I had a green coloured 80 series Toyota lemon. Worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. 25L/100 was normal. Useless off road and towing wouldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding. Second Toyota fouby I’ve own. The first was also useless. Your fuel economy is ok. Remember it’s a petrol.
Looks like ypur going to dump a heap of coin selling it. Theres no way your going to get even half of what you have spent on it. I really dont see the point of these no expense spared builds if your not going to keep them to the death. I get it that these builds create content that creates income and the tax deductions that you get from them, but it's still income that is spent on the build and then lost when it's sold.
A sane person would never put that much money into an old vehicle. But an enthusiast won't even think twice about it. I kinda fall into the latter category.
Finally uploaded the 48 been a minute absolutely love this build need to bring it back more often
I believe it's gonna be sold
Great info on your 48...
Lots of sensible mods to make it an awesome tourer and some... Nice work Tyler.
I'm just here for Tyler to mention lunch always good to hear that
Noice video TY! lolled at the ending boi 😆
M9ve on man.... same car for 10 years
Fark, absolute beast of a machine. You should run a giveaway to one of your subscribers 😂
What does it all weigh when loaded for a trip?
Probably not a single kg over the gvm lol
Definitely should have gone reduction gears. I've got 85% on my 48 auto with 4.1 gears and don't need to touch the brakes going down vhc steep hills.
Second this, I've got 4.3 diffs and 85% reductions and is brilliant
Great video.
Great team.
👍👍👍

With the throttle being too sensitive, use tiptronic to lock it into first gear and hit the snow mode button, slows it right down in these
NICE WORK TO ALL 😊
Mate your audio is super quiet
auto hubs arent always turning when in auto
Does the GU differ from the cruiser for engineering with the lift and tyres? So true 35 with 3 inch is ok on a Gu but not on an 80 series?

Cool vid 👍
Sad to see it go .😢
I didn’t realise you can get 3inch 35 inch tyres engineered would you have a rough price on what it cost?
Hi mate,

4WD 24/7 have flogged the ultimate throttle controllers might help with the big girl but no idea meself if they any good
They are brilliant for dampening throttle when you want to. That's about it though
Remap might solve the issue
Usual high standard ep.
My favourite vehicle of yours, so when it for sale?
Don't sell it... slap a turbo and haltech on it!
Bushwraps will cover up those scratches. you wont even see them. Are your wheels FULL Beadlock or like the Method beadlock wheels ?? I thought full Beadlock were illegal ?
You can run beadlocks like normal tyres to keep it legal
@@dn059not all beadlocks

Did i miss the asking price? GLWS!
is this because your selling it?
Didn't this start out as a tourer fOr Demi and family ?

patrol diffs are still stronger

i think they are drive by wire could be wrong tho
the tb48 uses cable to the throttle body so cant use a controller.
❤❤❤
Off road roof load rating ;)
25l per hundred is eye watering, tb should be max 16 just goes to show 35’s are not all they are cracked up to be…
The best sale's pitch ever I'd bay only I'm from n.ireland lol
Your first Patrol gone
Been watching since the black Nav days
2 Nav’s
2 Patrols
1 Cruiser
Must be a 2nd cruiser on the cards at some stage
prob putting a TD in his dads S4
How much are you selling it for
Those bars are ARD compliant. Not approved. 👌 according to the sticker.

But a new vehicle can't match it for toughness, capability and reliability.
All rationale goes out the window and emotions take over when doing dream builds. I would do it if I had the spare dosh to do it with.
getting a bit repetitive with the videos...
I think he threw a couple of easy ones in so he could have a break over Christmas. He's in China driving in the snow at the moment so stay tuned
