I had a W Reg 1.2 Corsa as my first car back in 2013. Like this one, it was a Club Special Edition, getting ready for the C to replace it. So, electric windows, mirrors, rear headrests, heated mirrors, etc. I loved that car more than words can describe. Selling it because the clutch was too heavy after I knackered my left leg is genuinely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Absolutely love seeing this car on the channel guys. It might be a 3 door modified car, mine was a stock 5 door, but seeing a Corsa B bring a smile to some faces, something mine always did, has really made my day.
I am over the moon about seeing you guys hype the Saab engines. As a Swede, it is two of my favourite worlds coming together; you guys and your banter and British humour in general, and the awesome engines. Anyway, it is common knowledge in the Swedish Saab community to only use Loctite 518 or 5188 for sealing the oil pan and cam transmission cover. That product only hardens anaerobically, meaning if any of it ends up outside the mating surface, it won't harden and instead be dissolved in the oil or something I dunno the details. Saab engines are really picky when it comes to spark plugs, and do well with frequent oil changes. It is widely recommended to change sparks, oil and filter every 6k miles in Sweden. A B204 from a 9-3 fits straight onto the engine mounts of a Vauxhall Omega if I am not mistaken. Pair that with a more durable beamer gearbox and you've got a budget 500 hp rwd monster. Change the head gasket to a metal one from the B2X5 and lathe down the pistons 1.1 mm and you can cram out another 100 hp on the same stock internals.
The sound of that B204 (or was it even 234?) just brings a smile on my face...They had such a unique sound to them. Used to own 4 or 5 SAAB's with those (although two were the newer 205 and 235R, but still) and they are such brilliant engines. the older ones were really solid, and even the newer ones (with oil pickup and sludge issues) could make a fair amount of power too. Currently on B284 powered Aero, and it just lacks the mule kick of a boost you get on the old ones. Good engine, but still... i really miss those old ones.
When I worked as a mechanic, you could always tell someone didn’t know wtf they were doing when you saw red RTV silicone on every gasket surface. Had a customer replace their clutch on their own, used red silicone, and a piece of it sucked into one of the crank oil pipes and seized the engine. Honda bond or the equivalent is the only thing I’ll use when a liquid gasket is required.

As an American with no access to Vauxhalls and limited access to small hatchbacks, I REALLY like that car. I find myself rooting for it, the little hatchback that could. There's something quintessentially masculine about giving an econobox commuter car four times the power it was intended to have that's endearing.
Great video, boys. Love seeing the clumsy work and fails as much as anything - that's certainly what we experience ourselves when we are in our own garage Edwin looking particularly dapper with his new haircut
What a car, I did the same swap when I had mine, but mine was only a standard corsa b in dark green, I lowered it, ripped the sump off then decided on a b204, man that thing was fun!
To quote Derek from Vice Grip Garage? Always put the date and or mileage on the oil filter, or any serviceable part at that? That way it's easier for the next person or yourself to work out when it was last done?
Or cut a small slit in the fuel hose to release the pressure or there sometimes a valve thats looks like a tire valve with a dust cap thats the same for a tyre valve, press that to release the fuel pressure. There's proper fuel line hose clamps that tighten with screws as hose clamps dont clamp very well on small hoses.
Top man Edwin. Thanks for taking the time to say hi at autosport international on Saturday. Me and my 2 sons love the channel. You both have to be living the dream.
Other tips with fuel pressure - remove the petrol filler cap, this will decrease the pressure. Additionally some cars (like Honda) have a software procedure to depressurize the fuel system.
Just came across you guys channel! Will definitely be watching from now on! I work at a motor factors and we do febi/blueprint parts! They are an awesome company from a parts man perspective

It’s funny after our diesel C Klasse broke down we bought a 34year old Corsa 1.4 . That things gearbox was basically just soup , leaked oil out of the engineblock , everything fell apart but it just kept running 😂. After 6 Months we bought a proper car but I’ll definitely miss the that little car
Use a set of hose clamp pliers just after the hose attaches to the tank side. Feed it up, connect and release the pliers. Job done with minimal spillage.
My two favourite tdc cars, the feral corsa and the slightly neglected sleeper starlet. Hope to see the pair shuned up and rounded out. Big brake corsa, hell yeah
Since I found the tdc channel I have watched every video and kept up to date with every new release, they have all been very enjoyable and continue to be.
Your man said to take the sumo off and check the pickup due to the cat on the b204 being directly under the sump. The heat can cause the oil to turn to a sludge and block the pickup tube. Judging by the sealant on the the sump I’d guess this has already been off for a check! Good news!
My first and 4th cars were Corsa B's. You've made me miss having that sunroof, but not the shoulder rubbing with the passenger....having to ask to change gears or use the handbrake....shudders*
The sealant broke down because someone has run it with oil cleaner or flush in it for a decently long time. Thats why the bottom of the sump where the oil sits is so clean. Use black sealant (oil/fuel rated) and it won't fall to bits again.
Boys, I don't know what you're doing with this car when you're finished with it but I need to buy it!!! I have no money so will be a bank loan, so go easy on me 😂😂😂😂
If i dont buy it first ;-) .I see a lot Saab conversion cars given its all i do every day, and in general they are mostly a bit rough around the edges. This one is done really well. The guy that did it clearly put a lot of effort to get everything right, and on the plus side the interior is all stock and very clean. Hide that big exhaust and it would be a total sleeper.
@TheSaabClinicUK don't tell them it's nice I will never be able to afford it 😂😂😂 but this has been my dream build for the last 15 years. Bloody wife kids and mortgage all got in the way haha
I think a hot hatch tour with the rest of the auto Alex meta verse should be on the cards. Taylors Peugeot, ATG with no doubt the cheapest one they can find or hire a new one to compare.

Class as always. Click on these videos in a heartbeat. Especially cool old tat like this!
The key section is at around 17:20, with the shot showing the car behind you. You just clear off and leave it standing. That shows how quick it is :)
Love your guys content, I always craved for more content from yours keep doing it.
Edwin with the fresh cut 💇♂️
Use a set of hose clamp pliers just after the hose attaches to the tank side. Feed it up, connect and release the pliers. Job done with minimal spillage.
Loving this little corsa. Takes me back a few years to a time I was younger 🎉 keep them coming boys, what a Chanel!! 👌🏻
I laughed so hard this episode. The fuelline slapstick got me good. Great work again guys! Cheers from Norway
2:11 my man turned into Mike Wazowski when for a minute there. The yell was spot on.
I just love the laughs in the car at the end. Gives me the giggles watching.
Could have just clamped the line coming out the tank, you wouldn't be gravity feeding the contents of the tank onto you and the floor😂
ah yes, the best part of monday just dropped
These cars need to be on the Nurburgring! You are the modern version of Top Gear lads 🔥
I’m a new subscriber and I love this channel. Corsa Saab turbo is just simply awesome.
Will just needs some TN trainers and a genuine fake burberry hat and the 90s is back 😂
2:47 I run a file on the crimped bit when removing those clips on fuel lines, once you've filed through them they practically fall off
Loving the videos, cracking up at 2:04 😂
Man's out here picking a Purdeys Rejuvenate with his meal deal THE TORY ALLEGATIONS ARE CONFIRMED
I love watching Will and the Lorax working on cars ❤️
The sealant broke down because someone has run it with oil cleaner or flush in it for a decently long time. Thats why the bottom of the sump where the oil sits is so clean.
Use black sealant (oil/fuel rated) and it won't fall to bits again.
10:21 the universal approval look😂
This is my favourite kind of videos, the genre, the style, the cars, all of it, it's like a classic TG episode but on steroids
I've always wanted the corsa b combo van with a saab engine...a really ropey looking red one that's mainly pink on banned steels and 300hp
so so loving the content, thanks and keep em coming❤ 🎉🎉
Really enjoying this content! Keep it up!
This is my absolute favorite car related channel, thanks guys!
I think a hot hatch tour with the rest of the auto Alex meta verse should be on the cards. Taylors Peugeot, ATG with no doubt the cheapest one they can find or hire a new one to compare.
