Thank you mother for introducing me to centennial, this piece of art and history in 1980 when I was 10 year old boy, they were great times. Greetings from Egypt
Maybe 10 years YT had the entire thing. Since disappeared with only snippets avalible now. I first saw it on NBC back when it was shown in 1978. I live in Colorado, near where all this takes place. When filming began, it was really hard to get a hotel/motel room in Northern Colorado. Cast and crew were hogging everything. Once our family was in Greeley. Downtown we caught a glimpse of Robert Conrad. That's when we learned about Centennial.
Although NBC cancels "Centennial" after its 3-year run in October of 1980, but it finally moved to syndication in mid-October 1980 and continues to do so ever since. While NBC Universal owned "Centennial" for three seasons as well as the revised edition for four seasons on syndication, finally Warner Bros Television/Turner Entertainment acquired the mini-series' rights in the fall of 1984 when "Centennial" airs on TBS in October 1984 with excellent ratings.
I loved it. I only wish I had not missed "The Massacre" and "The Cowboys". I read the book, though, several times. I can't remember why I missed those episodes on TV, though.
I will never forget this series and this music when I was a 12 yo kid late 70s
Back then it made a huge impression on me
Thank you dad for introducing me to centennial in 2004 & making it a favorite ever since.

I was working in Rocky Mountain National Park in 1978 when part of the series was being filmed there.
