Oh my god! My dad used to be the caretaker there when I was a kid. He lived in a flat inside the castle so when it was his weekend we would spend our time there working with him on the grounds! Gosh I haven’t thought about the place for years, he’s long gone now so this was a nice reminder.
That's incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed this video and can't get enough of Chillingham, esp. since I connected my ancestors to the Grey family. I often read how my family and the Greys were arch enemies and even an amazing murder trial between them, and it's unexpected resolution! However, last year, I found new connections where an infamous Elizabeth Grey married one of my direct ancestors in the 1400s so arch enemies and family lol! Go Figure! Cherish those memories - I can only hope my ancestors walked the grounds of Chillingham at some point. :)
I’ve visited the castle a couple of times, it is a fascinating place, I’ve never found it creepy though however the area around the lake has a very eerie aura about it, I couldn’t wait to get away from it when I walked past it
I'm so glad you don't let the rain stop you! The visuals of the drops coming down & the sounds of the rain only adds to your efforts. As my very wise sister has said, "There is no bad weather, only bad equipment." Thank-you for another beautiful explore.
All those people who created the castles image in their heads, built it, laboured over it, filled it with their treasures and made it their home…… all long gone and such is our life ….. we build and imagine and then we’re gone leaving our “ treasures” behind us..
Thank you for showing us another fascinating castle. The amount of interesting and historical objects on display boggles the mind. I look forward to every new video.
It certainly was mind blowing, a little overwhelming and a shame that some items didn’t have notes on what they were or where they came from. Maybe they don’t know? A lot of work I guess. Super place nevertheless! 😊
Beautiful castle. Our history seems to have no humanity. I would love to spend the night there. That garden was incredible. Thank you so much for taking me along. Please take care
I am descended from the Gray family that built the castle. I hope to visit next year, along with some other family history spots. Thank you for the lovely video!
I would give ten thumbs up if I could. Great documentary, plus you have a very listenable speaking voice, just spot on for delivering informative of this nature, you actually sound like you are enjoying the video too.

Excellent video. It is clear how much work went into making this video. I feel a little more educated about the history of the UK after watching your videos as there is always something new to learn.
What an amazing collection of antiques and memories! I've never seen anything like it. Loved the gardens and your eagle-eye find of the original picture on a staircase. As always, your narrative makes the perfect video❤
We all owe Sir Humphrey a debt of gratitude for restoring and preserving this wonderful place. Definitely an antique collector's dream, with so much space and the perfect backdrop for this massive collection of historical finds. You did an admirable job documenting so much. Those turret stairs made me a bit dizzy and brought back memories of visiting the White Tower many years ago. Hope you are both well, as we move toward winter. Cheers!
So much history and so many artifacts. Loved this video ! Could look through for days and not see it all. Wonderful! See you next week. Hugs and blessings ❤
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for this support! We really appreciate you watching and enjoying the channel and our adventures. It so kind of you. This will help us make more videos! 👍😊 thanks from Simon & Will
Thankyou for this wonderful walk through Chillingham Castle. I have to say that I appreciate your camera skills so much. You have, (in my opinion,) resisted the trend of a wobbly camera like so many do these days, ( it gives me motion sickness,) which I avoid so much. I look forward to seeing your in-depth commentary about these beautiful historic buildings. Love them so much. I’m in Australia and my family are from England so I love hearing about the history of these wonderful places that have stood the test of time. In my town they have all but erased its history, with only 1 or 2 buildings left. So grateful for your hard work in producing these videos for everyone to enjoy. Thankyou kindly.
Hello, thank you so much for the lovely comment. I know what you mean with the wobbly camera! Such a shame that the history of your town has not been retained for future generations. We are so lucky in the UK to have that history, and a desire to hold on to it. Hope you manage to get back to the UK from time to time to experience it first hand. Thank you for following our adventures!
I spent a night there in the Lookout Apartment on September 23, 2007 with my first ex-husband. While he watched tv, I hid out to watch the ghost tour pass by in the courtyard. As they were breaking up, I opened the window, shrouded in a sheet, and made the most ghostly noise I could muster. One woman screamed. Another ran. And then everyone started laughing and taking photos. I discreetly disappeared behind the curtains. I hope my little joke is remembered by some in their photos or memories. 🙂
Omg I had done something similar in 2022, I was sleeping in one of the rooms and there was a ghost tour going past so I started rattling things in the background and I have never heard more fear in peoples voices
Thanks for another great video. There was a rocking horse on springs like that at my playgroup when I was a kid. Absolute white knuckle ride any time anyone got on it. You could end up anywhere 😄 I'd love to think I could manage to stay the night at Chillingham but I think I'd bottle it 👻
Thank you for showing this video of Chillingham Castle. A great amount of antiques from years gone by. A very Historical Castle and interesting to see.❤❤❤

Seeing this I’m trying to get my husband to agree to do an extended visit so I can see Chillingham live. Thanks for the video! ❤
